Let me be a mob! - Chapter 105- She appeared...again?!
[Aiden’s POV:]
Everything transpired in a flash.
Just some moments ago, I along with my teammates were listening to Professor Lisa about the rules and necessities of this assessment and were preparing to show our best…and in the next moment, I found myself shielding Silvie behind my back with the legendary sword Excalibur already in my grip.
A storm brewed and terror descended as soon Professor Lisa spotted a gaping in the space. Only she could have perceived something so bleak so she warned us and even told the other instructors to prepare for battle.
For the first few seconds, I believed that those many high-ranking Professors would be able to handle it easily…however, I was proven wrong the very next second.
The person who appeared from that thin deterioration of space was none other than the head of the Mamba Organisation—The Crimson Demon of the East.
“Are you alright, Silvie? Heal your arm and don’t worry about me…” The side of my head was bleeding and so was my left leg. However, I wanted Silvie to heal herself first since it would be beneficial for longer run.
Just the sheer aura of the woman was able to push everyone away from the vicinity. The perfectly trimmed grass of the training ground was carved in a crater as the redhead woman levitated mid-air with her gaze trained forward.
There were a small amount of goons with her as well, whom I guess, we would be handling since going against that woman was ridiculous to even think about.
The one facing the Crimson Demon was the Headmaster himself, who arrived at the scene merely half a second after she appeared.
“Old man, still alive?” Grinning toothly with her sharp fangs peeking out, the woman asked the Headmaster.
She was the first person who had dared talk such casually with the Headmaster and by her aura, I could guess the reason why she seemed this confident.
I glanced toward my left and found Jin standing there with his back facing an unconscious Fiona who was being tended by Dia. Rena was nowhere to be seen but I could faintly sense her aura from somewhere from behind, which meant she was probably unconscious as well.
“If I remember correctly then there still was a month and a half remaining until the deadline. Why this sudden visit madame Madona?”
‘So her name is Madona…’ Hearing the Headmaster’s greetings I was reminded of that day when the Mamba Organisation attacked the school when I along with several first years were stuck in the forest. That day as well, this lady named Madona appeared in the school and gave an ultimatum.
She wanted to find someone and for that, she gave the Headmaster and the school a period of three months. But as the old man said, there was still some time remaining.
“Ah, that…I have long gotten over the death of that Faceless dude. Now I greed for something else…something more delicious.”
As her long tongue rolled over her lips, I followed Madona’s gaze which was directed toward a certain student. And surprisingly(?) it was none other than Jin.
“And why do you believe I would let you touch even a single student of mine?” The aura of the headmaster began to shift as I felt the ground shaking slightly and the air growing thicker.
Jin remained still but I could sense that he was a lot more uneasy than before. Lisa and the other instructor’s instructor immediately jumped from their spots and took a flank formation on either side of the Headmaster.
I clutched my blade before conjuring as much mana as I could into Excalibur, intending to go all out if required.
*Snap*
All of a sudden, the redhead snapped her finger before the sky abruptly turned dark, the air seemed to be frozen in real-time. I looked around and found that it wasn’t just me but everyone had noticed this shift of surroundings.
‘What the…’ My brows frowned since this scene somehow felt familiar.
“Demonic Dome?!” Professor Lisa’s words echoed clearly which made me widen my eyes.
It was the same as what happened back in Dungeon City, where all the students and civilians froze up and a demon rose through a vessel.
At that time, the ex-Vice President was that vessel…which means…
“So Madona, you also have abandoned your humanity, eh?” The headmaster’s disappointed tone indicates my hunch to be right. This woman, who was hailed for holding her ground against an army of demons has changed her sides.
She was now in favor of demons!
“So what? Does it matter whom I play for? In the end, there is always someone stronger than you.”
The redhead announced, her voice dimming a bit in the end as she glanced toward her left arm before her gaze shifted back to the Headmaster.
“If you wanna live your retirement year in peace and save everyone present here from getting hurt, then give me that kid.”
As I thought, her finger was pointing toward Jin, who remained stiff at his place without much change of expression.
“Again, why do you think I would let you touch any of my students.” With his wooden staff planted firmly against the ground, the Headmaster repeated his line as he looked at Madona without a tinge of stress.
The redhead grinned which felt creepy just by witnessing.
“Are you sure, old man? With that condition of yours, “Pointing her index finger toward the Headmaster’s abdomen, she continued, “I am sure three hits would be enough to take you down.”
I frowned my brows at that, not sure what she meant by that. And at times when I don’t understand what has been happening around me, I look toward Jin…and as I thought,
‘Something seriously is wrong this time…’ Jin had a pale complexion with his brows frowned as it seemed there was something that only Madona and the headmaster but Jin also knew.
‘Is he injured…?’ I wasn’t sure.
Regardless, I wasn’t going to pull my guard down, and the way the Headmaster held his ground, I knew this was going to be a violent confrontation.
I heard some murmurs from my left and knew that Jin was already in the process of conjuring his Spirits. Dia also held her daggers and was prepared to protect her friend. I noticed that even Silvie had picked up her sledge hammer and was standing behind me with her legs trembling.
All the instructors had already taken out their weapons and so had the goons with Madona.
Holding the grip of my sword, I trained my eyes forward, prepared to give everything in this battle, which may turn out to be my last.
Under everyone’s heavy and focused gaze, the Crimson Demon smirked before raising her right hand, as she announced,
“Then die for your insolence.”
