Let me be a mob! - Chapter 100- Sort this out...
The practice session of the new team formed by Jin and led by Aiden, reached the training ground for some training while cooperating.
The training chamber consisted of many modes and difficulty levels.
Jin went for the Third degree amongst the seven options and opted for just physical-type training dolls for starters.
However, everyone in the team was allowed to use their basic sorcery and martial arts skills up to a decent extent. There were some major restrictions like summoning Excalibur and suddenly turning the place into an ice age.
The team began with no formation and everyone except the Healer was engaged in their respective battles against the six-foot-tall training dolls.
“Rena, help Dia and try to flank the machines in a corner before going for an AOE.”
“On it!” Hearing Aiden’s command, Rena finished the steel doll with a singular ruby-blaring eye transfixed in the center of its cube face, before she dashed toward Dia who was struggling to face two opponents at once.
“Silvie, heal Fiona and stay by her side. And Fiona…just don’t needlessly vent your frustration and be more efficient.”
In response to the words of the team leader, Fiona scoffed while she continued to demolish the steel dolls with her vast mana capacity and precision in her affinity.
Because she wasn’t much of a physical fighter, Fiona wasn’t trying any close combat yet upon being pushed to a corner she had to engage, which resulted in some bruises and cuts all over her arms and some on her face.
“I-I am on it…” Silvie complied with her leader’s call before she dashed toward Fiona while dodging any of the training dolls with her barriers and arriving by Fiona’s side in seconds.
Aiden was quite satisfied with his team’s quick response and well-going coordination as he fought his own battle against a group of dolls again.
Soon his eyes traveled toward the last member of the group who was battling all by himself while trying to keep the training dolls from attacking the party members from any blind spots.
While Aiden was engaged with mostly two or three opponents at once, Jin was dispatching the one-eyed training dolls in numbers with his nimble movements, flawless prediction, and monster-like strength.
‘And people think I ever had a chance against him…’ Not self-deprecating but rather gaining motivation from the comparison, Aiden clutched his short sword in a tight grip before advancing toward the nearest horde.
He needed to up his game if Aiden really was going to become the team leader.

After four hours long training and tuning, the group of six exited the training ground side by side as they headed toward their respective dorms to have a bath and rest before the evening meal, where they would have their further discussion.
“Jin.”
“Yeah, I know.” Before Fiona could continue, Jin assured her with a soft smile before he handed her a paper and parted ways with the group of girls.
He has told Fiona through the letter, to meet him in the garden, during the night since Fiona seemed to be wanting to talk to him since earlier.
He didn’t want others to know about it to let Fiona get teased so he used the traditional method.
“You are a pretty romantic guy, eh?” Aiden raised his brows as the two made their way toward the dorm while covered in sweat and dirt.
Hearing his words, Jin responded in a cheeky tone, “You are one to say? Weren’t you helping out Rena to wipe her face and getting all bubbly around her just now.”
Aiden smacked Jin on the back in embarrassment. It was a real bother that no one but Jin knew about Aiden’s feelings for Rena…
After a short pause, Aiden changed the topic.
“So…there’s a session with President Amanda in the evening as well, right?” Seeing Jin nodding, he continued, “You sure you can handle that much work?”
Aiden knew about Jin’s individual test, which was meant to demonstrate that Amanda was the ideal mentor for him. However, even for a superhuman, there’s always a threshold to how much they can push their physical limits.
“Well, I am not worried about our party formation and training any longer. Now that we have a responsible leader, there’s no stopping us from passing whatever trials, that redhead has prepared for us.”
Brian was a man who could debate with you if it was about breaching a custom or paw that has been followed by a generation. Arguing that redhead professor was not something Jin or Aiden even considered. Their primary objective was to showcase the value of their team, under Aiden’s leadership, to both the professorial board and the headmaster.
Hearing his words, Aiden hmm-ed a bit before glancing at his friend and asking in an uncertain tone, “You say I am the best option for a leader but the whole team didn’t seem alright with your decision tho.”
“If you are talking about Fiona the-” Jin guessed it must be her since the silver-head was visibly not okay with the proposal of being commanded by anyone other than Jin.
However, Aiden had a different opinion, “No, not only Fiona but there was someone else as well, who didn’t seem completely alright with this arrangement.”
Jin frowned at that before asking in a perplexed tone, “Dia?” Seeing Aiden nod, Jin’s frown deepened as he subconsciously muttered, “But why she would….”
Bringing his feet to a halt and turning to face Jin just in front of the latter’s room, Aiden spoke with a soft smile, “The fact you guessed her name in the first attempt tells that you aren’t totally clueless about Dia’s growing affection toward you. I suggest you sort things out before it gets too late.”

For the rest of the day, Jin contemplated what Aiden said and also thought about the subtle hints and glances Dia had been relaying to him after returning from the dungeon city.
His doubts remained about whether she had also seen that supposedly daughter who traveled from the future or might have heard Jin’s words when he took her back to her hotel room.
Anything was possible, but one thing he was sure about.
‘Dia is torn between her own emotions and the guilt of harboring such feelings for me….’
Jin couldn’t leave this topic just like this. He had to sort things out even for that he had to ask Dia’s feelings for him from upfront.
Lack of focus might prove severe for both of them so it’s better for Jin indeed sort things out when he has the time.
“Oh yeah, he did say about something…”
Using his levitation he remained unseen by the dorm warden who was busy talking with some professor near the reception.
He couldn’t ask for Dia to come out nor he would ever get permission to walk inside. Rumors were bound to erupt if he got caught.
Soundlessly ascending the floors he reached the third floor where both Fiona and Dia’s rooms were located beside each other.
‘Sorry Fiona but I have to talk to her…’
It was the first time he had entered the girls’ dorm yet he wasn’t there for his girlfriend but rather for her best friend.
*Knock* *Knock*
Finding the lobby to be empty he knocked rapidly on the door twice.
After a wait of some seconds, the door parted.
“I know I sh….” Jin’s voice died in his throat as he saw the person standing at the doorstep.
Undoubtedly, it was Fiona.
