Chapter 190: New Year’s Eve
It’s December 31st, the end of the year. Lately, I’ve been holed up at home, streaming or gaming.
“Feels lonely without the maids, huh~ ♡”
“Yup…”
“Takuya! ♡ If you’re lonely, come to Onee-chan’s chest! ♡”
As Kaede and Masami-oneechan say, the maids, secretary, and guards are back at their family homes.
Normally, these three jobs leave no time for home visits, but Mom and I encouraged them to go rest.
I want them to relax over New Year’s, and I don’t want our place to be a toxic workplace.
“How was this year for you, Takuya? ♡”
“This year…”
Looking back roughly…
January
The month I woke up. I was clueless, memory-less, and it was rough.
I didn’t think family would accept me and was ready to live alone.
But Mom and everyone called me family, and I joined the Izumi household.
February
Mostly in the hospital. Shiori-san, Akari-san, and Chisato-san cared for me, helping me recover.
My first ejaculation in this world was during February’s extraction. I also interviewed the three job groups.
By late February, I was discharged and started prepping for school.
March
The month I first attended school. I was so nervous introducing myself. Thinking back, I met Mikoto-san, Ran-san, and Yuika-san then, though I was too overwhelmed to remember clearly.
I started dating Arisa around this time.
Sakura pampered me a lot, and I finally understood the joy of being spoiled. It made me more open to pampering others… maybe not fully yet?
April
Started high school for real.
Most of my current brides I met in April, since that’s when the new school year began.
Joined the student council as the male rep, and a third-year senpai thanked me for taking her place.
More people wanted to be my brides, so I set my bride selection criteria. Over half a year later, it’s unchanged—a solid policy.
May
Spent Golden Week with the maids… and got dressed as one…
Thanks to Kaede, I thought about how to make everyone “happy.”
The sports festival was big too. My first major task, so I was nervous and remember it well.
Everyone worked hard and had fun.
June
Went on lots of dates with my new brides.
Visited their homes, and they came to mine.
July
Joined the first day of the overnight study trip, making curry. The adults had a drinking party at our house.
Summer break started, and I invited people to hang out for the first time.
We used our pool too.
August
Seira-chan’s concert was memorable. It led to interviews, modeling, and starting as a V-tuber.
The kids’ big pool party at a reserved venue was fun. Everyone’s swimsuits were dazzling and super sexy.
September
School restarted, and I watched the middle school sports festival. Met and started dating Tamaki, Yoshino, and Rin-san then.
Also began dating Hina-no and Umi-chan.
October
Thanks to Mikuni-san, we had an amusement park private party, and my birthday made it the densest month.
Stayed at a luxury hotel twice for buffets.
Learning Rin-san became my streaming manager at the amusement park party’s drinking table was surprising.
My birthday sparked a cake-buying trend, dubbed the “me effect” in articles.
November
The school cultural festival had me taking photos with tons of people. Our class winning first place was a thrill.
The winning class’s hotel buffet reward was delicious and a great memory. Took lots of photos in uniforms.
Took our workaholics on a one-night hot spring trip. The ultra-luxury ryokan was intimidating, but we relaxed, so I think everyone refreshed.
December
Felt lonely when Karen-oneechan and Chiaki-senpai went on their school trip. Loved their souvenir stories, and I’m glad they returned safely.
The Christmas party was a blast. We ate, watched movies… and, uh, had sex…
And now it’s New Year’s Eve.
“This year was fun, thanks to everyone… I’m really glad I woke up. I can’t believe I thought I’d live alone.”
“Uuu… sniff …so glad… ♡”
“Yup ♡ You’re happy, and Onee-chan’s happy ♡”
I caused Kaede, Masami-oneechan, and everyone so much worry. Never again.
I help Kaede blow her nose, and we all hug.
“Oh my ♡ What’s with the cuddling? ♡”
“Let me in~ ♡”
“Me too~ ♡”
We hug Mom and the others, sharing gratitude.
“I’m so glad I met you all.”
“Taku-chan…”
Mom cries buckets, hugging me for a while.
After hugging, we eat lunch and make soba.
Apparently, it’s an annual tradition, and everyone’s skilled.
Did the old me do this? Doesn’t matter. What matters is the current me.
We roll out dough with rods and knead it, enjoying a rare Izumi family-only bonding time.
I wonder if my brides are relaxing at home.
“Then, let’s set the soba aside and go eat lunch somewhere ♡”
We’ll eat soba tonight, so we let it rest and head to a family restaurant.
We hit the drink bar, eating fries and pizza. I go for orange juice, as always.
“What kind of year do you want next year, Taku-chan? ♡”
“Hmm… I wanna stay healthy… maybe.”
“Fufu ♡ that’s wonderful ♡”
“Yup, yup~ ♡ I wanna cuddle more with Takuya~ ♡”
“““Me too ♡”””
Kaede and everyone wanting to stay close next year makes me happy. I’m all in for cuddling too.
“Taku-chan ♡”
“What, Mom?”
“You’ll probably keep getting more brides ♡ So never forget to cherish everyone ♡”
“Yup, got it.”
No bride candidates now, but if I find one, I’ll choose someone I can truly cherish.
“Takuya cherishes us sooo much, he’ll be fine ♡ Just keep being you ♡”
“Right.”
Being myself makes Kaede and everyone happy.
After lunch, we head home, watching TV and chilling.
“Takuya, your phone’s ringing. Seira-chan.”
Kaede points out the call, and I rush to answer.
“Takkun~ ♡ Tonight’s music show, around 10 PM for our slot ♡”
“Yup, I’m recording and watching live.”
Seira-chan’s at rehearsals for the show.
“Passing to Hina-no ♡”
“Takkun ♡ I’m front row, watch me lots ♡”
“Yup, do your best.”
“Thanks~ ♡ Passing to Umi-chan~ ♡”
“Takuya-kun ♡ Me… or us three in the center for that one ♡”
“Oh, that song.”
“Yup! ♡ Your favorite ♡”
“Tell everyone to do their best.”
“Got it~ ♡”
“I love you, Umi-chan.”
“Nn! ♡ I love you too! So much ♡”
Umi-chan whispers, probably to avoid others in the green room hearing.
After the call, I feel lonely and crave everyone’s voices. First, I call Arisa.
“Hey, Takuya~? ♡ What’s up? ♡”
“Wanted to hear everyone’s voices…”
“Eh? ♡ What? ♡ So cute ♡”
“Thanks for this year, Arisa. It was fun.”
“Me too ♡ Thanks, Takuya ♡”
“What’s your goal for next year?”
“Winning the tournament ♡”
“Right, with Honami-san.”
Arisa and Honami-san made the A-team for the national tournament right after New Year. It’s a big event with many slots, but they’re amazing. Both are outside hitters, same position.
Our school won two national tournaments this year. Winning this would be a triple crown, so it’s a must-win for our school.
Arisa and Honami-san were B-team bench players in the last two nationals, but they’ve got solid experience.
“Yup! I’ll be on TV too! ♡”
“I wanna go in person…”
“Hmm… it’s crowded…”
“With Satsuki-san and Mei-san together…”
“That’d be safe ♡”
“Yup.”
After Arisa, I call Honami-san.
“Takuya-kun… ♡”
“Do your best at the tournament, Honami-san.”
“Yup, we’ll win ♡”
“I’ll be there…”
“Thanks ♡”
Honami-san might play as an outside hitter or middle blocker, a key highlight.
Her height’s beyond high school level, taller than some third-years.
“Come train at our gym…”
“I wanna! ♡ I’ll go with Arisa-chan ♡”
“I’ll wait…”
Next, I call Mikoto-san, who’s with Amane-san.
“Thank you for this year, Takuya-sama ♡”
“No, thank you… You made so many fun moments.”
“Ufufu ♡ we help each other ♡”
“Yup, true.”
“Takuya-sama, my daily gratitude…”
“Yup, thank you too.”
Amane-san thanks me formally, so her.
Calling everyone one by one, I finish just in time for dinner.
Masami-oneechan and Mom fry tons of tempura, and we eat it crispy with soba.
“What’s your favorite tempura, Taku-chan? ♡”
“Shrimp, squid… and fish too.”
“Yup ♡ glad we made lots ♡”
I’m the only one with cold mori soba, and I’m happy they remembered my preference.
“Oh, Seira-chan’s on.”
“Here she is~! ♡”
We cheer as Seira-chan sings and dances, eat soba, and relax.
“Look, Onii-chan! The world’s in a noodle boom!”
Sakura shows her phone—SNS is flooded with New Year’s noodle posts.
“It really took off~ ♡”
“Yup…”
“You’re a trendsetter, Takuya ♡”
As the date changes, we call a taxi and head to the shrine.
“Takuya, hold hands so we don’t get lost. It’s dark.”
Masami-oneechan grips my hand, and we line up for offerings. It’s my first real crowd.
At the shrine, we count down to the New Year, toss offerings, and wish for a good year—not just relying on gods, but working hard myself to make my brides happy.
