Chapter 9 – The Plan to Capture the President
Friday, June 21st.
After school, in the student council room.
“So, what is this about, President?”
I was called during lunch break, so I obediently went to the student council room.
Shiori’s events are among the toughest of the heroines. When I first saw it, it left quite an impact on me.
That’s why I have to destroy Shiori’s doom flag no matter what. I’m planning to solve it behind the scenes this time, but… this is a good time to ask Shiori about it.
“…These past few days, it seems like there’s a junior you’re getting along with quite well.”
“Ah… Are you talking about Sera?”
“Yes. Until last week, you didn’t show any signs of such friendliness… What happened?”
I see. So she’s thinking that I might be threatening Akari and doing all sorts of things. Well, I can understand why she suspects me. I hope I can manage to deflect it somehow…
“The other day I went to see a baseball game. She happened to be sitting next to me, and…we just hit it off.”
“I see.”
This excuse was something I’d thought up together with Akari. However, Akari herself was persistent, saying things like “We should spread good things about Senpai!” and it took me about an hour to convince her.
Well, if this satisfies her, it’s fine by me…
“I understand. Sorry for doubting you.”
“Yeah, it’s fine.”
Hmm, one blow is enough. President… She’s really not suited for these kinds of consultations. She believes what people say too easily.
“Well, I do have a vicious face, but don’t worry about it, okay?”
“…I-I don’t mean to judge people by their appearances…”
I suppressed the urge to ask her why she asked me this, and moved on to my question.
“…By the way, President. Have you had any discussions with anyone recently? For example…with the second-year girls?”
“…No, I haven’t.”
“I see…”
It was worth a try, but Shiori didn’t answer. However, from her expression, I could sense anxiety or anger. Her hands were trembling, and her eyes, which had been fixed on me, were now looking in an entirely different direction.
“…Is that all you want to say?”
“Yeah, that’s all.”
“…I see. Sorry for taking up your time.”
Shiori bowed her head and urged me to leave the room.
I placed my hand on the door of the student council room and, as I was leaving, I said to Shiori.
“Don’t trust people too easily.”
“…What are you trying to say?”
“Nothing. It’s just that the world isn’t full of cool, respectable people like you.”
I said that and left the student council room.
“Well then…”
From now on, there are roughly two things I need to do.
First, prevent the incident from happening.
This is the most important thing. It’s on a different level than with Akari. Even if I help in the middle of the event, it will already be too late. This time I must destroy the flag before it happens. I can’t let the event itself happen.
Second, make sure Shiori doesn’t find out that I’m involved.
This is only a guess, but… I think that the current twisted relationship between me and Akari might be because she found out that I helped her. In other words, this is also a test. If Shiori finds out… well, it’s Shiori. She should be easy to deceive.
For now, I’ll start looking for the culprit.
But how on earth am I going to identify a woman, who was nothing more than a faceless mob character in the game?
I’ve been searching for clues for the past few days, but there’s been no sign of finding her. Or rather, no one wants to talk to me, which makes it difficult to investigate.
As I was pondering this while leaving the student council room, a female student approached me, as if she had been waiting for this moment.
“Hey, you. You were talking to that woman earlier, weren’t you?”
“That woman?”
“Don’t play dumb. You know, that noisy president.”
“Ah… I see.”
What insane timing! This girl is most likely the root of all the trouble.
“Yeah, I got lectured.”
“Seriously annoying, right? She acts all high and mighty.”
“…Even I know about Ibuse Reo’s reputation.”
“…I see.”
That was a long time ago. I’m different now.
But I’ll take advantage of my reputation.
“Right now, we’re going to destroy that woman. How about you?”
“…That’s an interesting suggestion. By the way, did she do anything to you?”
“Uh, not really… Isn’t she just annoying? Like, what’s the problem with wearing makeup to school? She acts all high and mighty just because she’s pretty. It pisses me off.”
That’s it? For such a stupid reason, you’re targeting Shiori…?
“…Yeah, it pisses me off too.”
I somehow managed to suppress my anger and agreed with this scum.
If I could just punch this woman right here and solve everything, I’d gladly beat her half to death.
But if I did that, I’d be suspended at the very least.
What would I do if a problem arose in the meantime?
Right now, I have Akari to deal with, and…
“…When will this happen?”
“That’s a quick answer, lol. Next week, we’ll lure her to the park in the middle of the night… Then we’ll just restrain her and shove her into a car… After that, we’ll drug her and do whatever we want. I’ll give you the exact location and time next week. See you then, haha!”
The triumphant girl laughed and walked away somewhere.
…Is that the attitude of someone who is about to ruin someone else’s life?
Half-hearted measures won’t make people like this reflect on their actions. Even if I solve this case, they might just create new victims in the future.
Criminals don’t deserve leniency or mercy.
I won’t be satisfied with just hitting that girl.
I’m going to take them all down… and crush them completely.
I see, being a heavenly villain is advantageous in this situations.
