Chapter 64 – Early Election Campaigning
Friday, September 13th, lunch break. I was in the teacher’s office.
“…I never thought you would say you wanted to join the student council.”
“…Is it really that weird?”
My purpose was to submit some paperwork to run in the student council elections. My homeroom teacher looked at the documents quizzically. I guess it’s not easy for someone who’s been suspended several times to join the council.
“It’s definitely weird. If you showed this to the you from a year ago, you’d probably burst out laughing.”
“Haha… That’s true…”
And it wasn’t just my homeroom teacher. The whole teacher’s office was in an uproar. That meant that Ibuse Reo had caused so much trouble. I need to get through this first, or I won’t even be able to join the student council.
I guess I’ll just have to bow my head as hard as I can. As I was thinking this, my homeroom teacher relaxed and stamped my documents.
“Just give it your all. I’ve seen you lately and I can tell you’ve really changed your mind. You also got Mizukami’s recommendation…”
The homeroom teacher looked around at the other teachers and began to talk to them with amusement.
“Remember that old drama? The one where a delinquent tries to become the student council president!”
“Oh yeah! I remember! That actor did it when he was younger, didn’t he!”
“It was really interesting!”
Then the teacher’s office started to get excited. I couldn’t do anything but smile wryly because I didn’t know any of the actors or the movie title. I’m not good with this kind of excitement among adults… I don’t dislike it, but… I would never be able to answer if they brought it up with me…
“Well, that’s how it goes. I know it won’t be easy, but do what you can. And apologize properly to the people you’ve bothered.”
“…Yes!”
I waited until the conversation had ended nicely, and before the topic of the drama was brought up, I ran out of the teacher’s office as if to escape.
Noa was standing in front of the room, and when she saw me coming out, she came over to me.
“Sounds like it was lively in there. How did it go?”
“…For now, we got the OK. Now it’s up to the students.”
Ibuse Reo basically had relationships with girls outside of school, but that still left a bad impression. It seems like he’s had a few fights with boys in school, too. It’s not like he didn’t have girls in school either.
Because of Akari and the others, I apologized to as many girls as I could after the summer holiday. Every time I did that, I got slapped or told not to get involved with them again. It was really tough. I don’t think they’d ever let someone like me become the student council vice president.
“We just need to get half of the votes. I’ll help too, so don’t worry. It’ll be fine.”
“…I hope so.”
As I was about to head to the student council room, Noa called out to me, “Wait a minute!”
“Hey, could you come with me for a bit?”
“Sure, but… Where?”
“Think of it as a bit of early campaigning.”
And so, the future student council president led me to the class next to ours. Noa called out to a female student and began to talk.
“It’s been a while, Noa-chan!”
“I’ve been busy lately! By the way, congratulations on being the captain of the cheerleading club, Kanna-chan!”
“You didn’t have to tell me directly… but that’s what I love about you!”
“I love you too!!”
Noa excitedly chatted with the girl and eventually hugged her. They seem to get along well, but I don’t know her. She looks really cute, though. She’s lively and I’d believe her if she told me she was a heroine.
“By the way, that guy behind Noa-chan… Could it be…?”
“Ah yes, it’s Ibuse-kun. He’s surprisingly normal, don’t you think?”
“Hmm… Well, he doesn’t seem as bad as the rumors say… You’re not being threatened, are you?”
“No way, no way. And actually, he’s super nice. The contrast is crazy, isn’t it?”
“Hmm… Well, I’ve recently realized that I shouldn’t judge people by their appearances…”
They’re both looking at me and talking about something. I can tell from Noa and the other girl’s expressions that it’s not a serious topic, but… It still makes me feel strangely nervous.
“Well, that’s all! Good luck, Captain!”
“Yeah! Good luck too, you! I’ll definitely vote for you!”
The girls’ talk finally ended, and I was taken to my next destination.
“Yahoo, Rei-chan.”
“…Yahoo.”
The next place we visited was the literature club room. There was a cool girl there, probably playing a game on her smartphone. Noa waited for her hand to stop moving before calling out to her.
“How are things going with your girlfriend lately?”
“Thanks to you, it’s fun.”
“I’m glad to hear that.”
“By the way, I saw you were spending on the Support Card. Did you end up paying for it?”
“Oh, you knew? Just a little bit, actually.”
“Nice. I appreciate it. It’s been really useful for the event.”
“You’re welcome.”
The conversation had shifted to a much calmer tone compared to the previous girl. I knew Noa had great communication skills, but I didn’t expect her to be this good. The childhood friend heroine is truly formidable.
“…So, what’s that doing here?”
The girl glanced at me and asked Noa. Don’t call people like they’re things! It hurts.
“That’s Ibuse-kun. The person who will be the next student council vice-president.”
“…I see. That sounds fine.”
“I knew Rei-chan would understand.”
Noa briefly introduced me, and after talking about games again, we left the literature club room.
“Okay, next.”
“There’s still more…?”
“The next one is the last, so don’t worry. And I think it’ll be over soon.”
The last place we visited was the science club room. When Noa called out to a girl, she came out wearing a white coat. It was obvious from her appearance that she had a few quirks.
“I’ve been waiting for you, Noa-kun!! What brings you here today?”
“This. The usual.”
“Thanks!! This will help me with my experiments!!”
Noa said, and handed over the mysterious package she had been holding. The girl accepted it willingly and returned to the club room.
“Yes! Thanks!”
“…Huh? Is that all?”
“Yeah. That’s just the kind of person she is.”
“Is that so?”
After the early election campaign ended, I was thinking of hurrying to the student council room, when——the door to the science club slammed open and the girl from before came out with a sandwich in her hand.
“Hmm. Hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm.”
The girl started circling around me, observing me. Noa was also a little surprised, as she hadn’t expected this turn of events. Then the girl stopped in front of me, put her index finger on my chest, and grinned fearlessly.
“I thought you were just Noa-kun’s new guy, but… You’re quite interesting. What’s your name?”
“Ibuse Reo.”
“I see. So you’re Shiori’s… I see, I’ll remember that.”
Perhaps having finished her business, the girl returned to the science club with a satisfied look on her face. How do I say this… She’s definitely the type of person who would be a pain to get involved with.
“Looks like she’s taken a liking to you, Ibuse-kun.”
“I hope she won’t use me as an experiment subject.”
As I joked about that, I finally made my way to the student council room.

These girls feel like they’re the heroines of a second installment in the franchise.
Eh, I would rather not think that, I wouldn’t really want a S2 of a rape NTR eroge to become reality.
I agree, specially as every girl outside the choice becomes dead or life ruining
