ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
Under the parasol, we enjoyed an elegant teatime. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and beautiful women, their revealing swimsuits held men’s gazes captive.
Huh? Is this the land of dreams? Sure, the famous theme park is visible in the distance, but isn’t this place the true dreamland?
“Do you like the scenery?”
Sitting across from me, President Reika crossed her arms, her two large breasts boldly pressing forward.
“Yes. It’s really beautiful.”
Of course, I meant the scenery… Definitely not the student council president’s twin hills.
“I’m glad you liked it. Since it’s extremely rare for men to come to the beach, I was worried if it was really a good idea to bring you here.”
In this chastity-reversed world, men neither exercised nor went outside much at all. And going to the beach in summer? That was only for appreciating the view. Which was exactly why I had to say it.
The sea was paradise. Beautiful girls used the cold water of the sea to swim, play, and bare their skin. Viva, summer beach! This was the best.
“There’s something I’d like to ask you two, if that’s all right?”
Reika leaned forward happily, smiling. With her hands clasped in front of her face—wait, was she trying to tempt me?
“Yes. What is it?”
Seiya responded with his usual confident smile.
“What kind of women are your type?”
Oh, is this that question? The one that, if a guy asks a girl, would be considered the number one most off-putting question? The impossible-to-answer question?
Like, with six girls sitting here, was I supposed to pick one of them? Wasn’t this exactly the kind of troublesome question you weren’t supposed to ask?
“Well, let’s see. I have an older sister. She’s kind at heart, quiet, and has this slightly mysterious side. I think my type is probably a woman like that, who makes me curious.”
Whoa, seriously, you cheerful bastard Seiya! How come you were able to answer that question so nonchalantly?! And your type is your mysterious older sister? Are you a family-lover or what?
Meanwhile, my own little sister called me gross. Though lately she had gotten kinda cute.
Not that it makes it any less mentally exhausting, thank you very much.
“I see, so Seiya-kun is family-oriented. Then how about you, Yoru-kun?”
The burning stares from all the girls hurt. Even Celine-san looked like she was glaring daggers at me.
“I…”
Why were all the girls leaning forward? That just made it even harder to say.
“‘I…???’”
They all chimed in. For a moment, Ran-san’s face flashed into my mind before fading.
“I like independent women…. Strong women, I guess… Women who don’t falter even when entrusted with serious responsibilities… Women who can be a source of support for someone else… Women who try to be strong while hiding their weakness… Women who put others before themselves… I think women like that shine the brightest.”
Ran-san was trying to be independent, working hard at both modeling and the long-distance relay race. She took on her leg of the race without letting the responsibility crush her. She tried to be a support for her teammates.
Even though handling both modeling and the long-distance relay race had to be exhausting, she hid her complaints and pretended to be strong. And every day, she still prioritized me, sending messages without showing me how tired she was.
Yeah… Ran-san really does shine.
“I-I see… So you like women who don’t falter even when entrusted with serious responsibilities… Well, well, well…”
For some reason, Reika-san blushed and began fidgeting. And not just her—several of the other women also shifted bashfully in their seats. Only Asuka Kuramine happily ate the sweets that had been served.
“Well then, if we just sit here drinking tea forever, we won’t get to enjoy the sea.”
“That’s true. Mind if I go for a swim?”
“Eh?”
The strange sound that escaped the student council president’s mouth was probably because my suggestion surprised her. Ignoring it, I stood up and headed toward the sea.
“What about you, Seiya?”
“Yeah, since we’re already here, I think I’ll just float around on a swim ring.”
“I see.”
Together with Seiya, I headed to the water. Seiya floated a swim ring onto the sea, waded in while wearing his rash guard, and splashed around.
“If you’re just going to float, could you hold this for me?”
“Huh?”
Feeling an urge to swim freely, I pulled off my rash guard, handed it to Seiya, and dove into the sea.
““““Kyaaaaaaa!!!!””””
For some reason, screams rose from the girls, but I ignored them and swam with all my might. In my previous life, I’d been too sickly to swim at all. But Yoru’s body now had healthy muscles and strength. When I was little, I used to swim in private pools at hotels with Yuuna, and my body still remembered what she had taught me.
“Whew… That feels great.”
After swimming enough to warm up, I headed back toward where Seiya floated.
“Seiya?”
But as I approached, the swim ring didn’t look quite right, so I called out to him again.
“Hyai!”
The reply came from Terumi-senpai. She floated in a swim ring too, wearing a cute floral-patterned swimsuit.
“Oh, sorry. I mistook you for someone else.”
“N-no, it’s f-fine!”
Panicking, Terumi-senpai flailed her arms, which rocked the swim ring against the waves…
“Ah!”
And she flipped right over.
“Kya—ahh—I, I can’t sw—”
I caught the flailing Terumi-senpai from the side, holding her up.
“Huh?”
“Are you all right? You shouldn’t come out this far if you can’t swim.”
I grabbed the swim ring and had her hold on tight. Not sure if she could hear me, I brought my mouth close to her ear.
“Here, hold on tight. I’ll support you.”
“Hyah!”
Her body shivered, as if my voice tickling her ear startled her.
“Are you okay? I’ll take you back to shore like this.”
As I held her close, I felt her body growing hotter, and I worried she might not be feeling well. Even after we reached the shore, Terumi-senpai still leaned against me.
“Yoru, cover up.”
While I wondered what to do, Seiya threw my rash guard over me.
“No, right now Terumi-senpai—”
“Yeah, I get it. Just shut up.”
Seiya zipped it up for me.
“I-I’m all right now. I just got a little tired.”
Terumi-senpai lowered her head, insisting she was fine, though she still looked worn out.
“K-Kurose-kun, thank you. I’ll take care of my big sister. Honestly, Onee-chan, you’re so unfair.”
Harumi-san came over, and I left Terumi-senpai in her care.
“Yoru… You mustn’t strip so easily like that.”
For some reason, Seiya scolded me.
