Those who had secured admission through sports recommendations had apparently been joining practices since March, but everyone else was expected to decide on a club in May.

Just as I was fantasizing about after-school activities, Seiya interrupted me.

“I’ve been calling you this whole time, so don’t ignore me. So? Yoru, which club are you going to join? I’m thinking of checking out a few before deciding. If you haven’t chosen yet, wanna go look around together?”

Seiya seemed to have energy to spare after finishing his medical checkups before Golden Week.

“Great. Then shall we go? So, where do we start?”

“You invited me but didn’t decide that much, huh?”

From minor ones like Capoeira Club and Kabaddi Club, to well-known ones like Soccer and Baseball, there were plenty of athletic clubs.

“There are a lot of clubs that don’t even make sense.”

Even the “World Domination Planning Club” and “Boys Watch Squad” were officially recognized.

“There’s even an Information Gathering Squad. The name sounds pretty cool.”

Maybe that was IT-related? The variety was rich, and just reading the pamphlet was entertaining.

“So, where do we start?”

“We probably can’t see them all in a day, so… Maybe the sports clubs today?”

“Are you sure? Boys can’t enter tournaments, so you’d only be a manager, you know?”

If what I had just fantasized about became reality, then being a manager didn’t sound half bad.

“Well, you don’t know unless you try. Besides, I like moving my body.”

“It’s not like we’ll be the ones doing it. We’re just watching.”

The gymnasium extended from the first to the fourth halls, but in every one of them, the girls from indoor sports clubs were swarming around Seiya.

I quietly slipped out of the gymnasium. I couldn’t do club visits with Seiya. All the girls went straight for him.

“Yoooruuu!!! Why are you leaving me behind!!!”

Somehow escaping the swarm of girls, Seiya came running out of the gym.

“……It looked like you were having fun.”

Dragging the reluctant Seiya along, I entered the pool building. As expected of a mammoth school, it had full facilities to accommodate all kinds of sports.

The girls leaping off the 10-meter platform with spins were beautiful. Since we were watching from the corridor overlooking the pool, we could observe without the girls noticing.

There were several pools inside the building. They had a full 50-meter pool, two 25-meter pools, a diving pool and four pools all built into one facility.

“Yeah. No wonder Aoba High isn’t just popular, but also famous nationwide for sports.”

When we reached the area overlooking the racing pool, I spotted my childhood friend, Yuuna Aoyanagi. Since entering high school, she had been busy, and I had had fewer chances to see her.

She probably couldn’t notice me from her position at the pool. It had been since elementary school that I last saw Yuuna swimming so earnestly. After all, the distance between us suddenly had grown in middle school.
