It Seems Like A Girl I Don't Know Is Doing Housework At Home. But It Was Cute So I'll Keep An Eye On It - Chapter 2
Episode 2: Confirming Silky
The scary story I shared as an accompaniment to our drinks seemed to instill more fear than I anticipated, as both of them started lecturing me intensely.
“Hmm…”
But still, as a lazy guy who hates household chores, if someone who might be a stalker is willing to do maid service for free, I can’t help but rely on it, to be honest.
So, while it’s not exactly a compromise, I decided to install multiple hidden cameras to see who this stalker really is.
With footage, I can submit evidence to the police in case of any actual harm, making investigations easier. Plus, I’m also genuinely curious about who would stalk someone like me.
“What kind of person could it be?”
So, I checked the footage. The stalker appears on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Probably because those are the days when I’m away from home for long periods due to my university schedule.
Thus, the times of their appearances are somewhat narrowed down. Now, if I fast forward based on those assumptions…
“Bingo.”
I stopped fast forwarding. There was movement captured on the camera set up at the entrance. The doorknob turned, and the door opened.
“Seems like they’re using the key I lost before…”
There was no sign of them fiddling with the doorknob, so it’s likely. But, our apartment is along a fairly busy street. If someone were trying to pick the lock or tamper with the door, it would immediately raise suspicion and prompt a report to the authorities.
The fact that this hadn’t happened so far means the stalker has been entering our home through conventional means? I had a suspicion because I knew the circumstances.
“And this person is the stalker…”
I focused on the footage again. But even though I placed the cameras in inconspicuous positions, the face wasn’t clear. At most, I could tell they’re a young woman from their clothing and posture.
“Sigh…”
For now, I felt a sense of relief. The worst-case scenario I had anticipated was that the stalker would be a man or an older woman. So naturally, I felt relieved that this wasn’t the case.
Honestly, that was what scared me the most. Having a criminal trespass into my home could be pushed aside for now. The more pressing issue was whether the stalker was someone I found repulsive or outside my comfort zone.
If it were someone of similar age, I might be able to brush it off as just having a slightly creepy maid. But if not, it would be tough. I only tolerate it because it’s “slightly” creepy; if it were genuinely unsettling, I’d reject it outright.
In that sense, this stalker got a pass from me. Moreover, they give off vibes of being attractive, so if I can confirm they’re harmless, I wouldn’t mind continuing to let them play maid.
“…And she’s already started washing dishes effortlessly.”
Hmm. I’m starting to doubt if I can even call this person a stalker. They’re not snooping around the room, they just started doing chores.
After washing dishes, they move on to cleaning the room. Then they gather the trash and put it by the door. Throughout, there’s no suspicious behavior like stealing. They’re even humming to themselves.
“This is definitely Silky.”
It’s quite impressive how much they seem to enjoy doing housework. As someone who tends to let chores pile up to the extreme, I find it hard to understand.
In reality, if it weren’t for this stalker, my room would regularly transform into something akin to a junkyard.
It’s not that I can’t do chores… I’d even say I’m better at them than most adult men. But, it’s just so bothersome. I know it’s more efficient to do tasks as they come rather than let them accumulate, but laziness wins out.
And that’s why I’ve classified this stalker as “Silky” and turned a blind eye. Currently, the benefits of having a “free maid” outweigh any disadvantages.
Actually, with new items being replenished, there’s no financial loss at all. If they’re going to replace old items and dispose of them, it’s within acceptable limits.
If they’re willing to replace things for me, they’re welcome to do as they please with the garbage. It’s even cost-effective if they serve as a form of payment.
Since I’m using a criminal to my advantage, it’s pointless to make a fuss over something minor. I’ll tolerate it until it exceeds acceptable limits, and then they’ll become a matter for the police.
“But, it makes sense now. No wonder I suddenly had a crisp new shirt.”
Still, I’m more astounded by my own obliviousness than by the stalker. Well, I did feel some unease, but I was too indifferent to care much about it.
Now, though…
“Hmm…”
It might be time to relinquish my carefree attitude. I’ve been ignoring it because it seemed beneficial, but now that I’ve confirmed it
