I…felt horrified.

The moment I saw the girl walking into the classroom, I felt my world collapsing.

I recently got to know Suzune-san… I felt that we might have a close bond and that we could be more than acquaintances or friends.

Despite being betrayed twice, I felt that I still had a chance to find the one for me.

But…everything was going to collapse once again

It will happen once again…they will come and steal her from me..and once again, all I will do is smile and move on.

This will happen all over again…I just know it-

“Aki-kun.”

“Ah.” I was startled.

Looking around, I found everyone was staring at me, including the teacher.

I turned my eyes toward the source of the voice and found Suzune-san tilting her head as she asked, “Can I sit beside you?”

“How will you sit beside him? Come here in the back; there are plenty of vacant seats.” Said someone from Takuya’s group.

Shit, why do I have to go through all this again?

Naturally, Suzune-san would have no option but to go there since on either side, the seats were occupied.

Again…it will happen again.

However, she didn’t move and asked me again, “Can I sit beside you?”

Her question baffled me as I also asked the same thing, “But…there is no seat.”

“Oh, you don’t need to worry about that.” She assured me before turning and approaching the teacher. She whispered something to her and then,

“Hiroki, go and sit in the back.”

“Ehhh?”

“Wow …such favoritism.”

“The new girl got powers.”

While Hiroki was stunned, the others were teasing Suzune-san.

She didn’t look bothered at all as she approached me and asked, “Can you sit on that? I want your seat.”

She asked, and, despite how absurd this situation seemed, I nodded and got up to take the seat on my left and saw Suzune-san acquiring my seat.

She gave a comfortable sigh once she sat down.

W-What is happening? I don’t understand.

Soon, the class began but I still couldn’t remove my eyes from her.

What she did…was not within my expectations.

She could have gone to sit in the back, just like anyone would have, but she somehow persuaded the teacher and insisted on sitting beside me.

Several emotions welled up in my chest to the point it became slightly difficult to breathe.

I looked at the desk and pressed my head against it.

I feel so happy…guh.

….

The classes continued like normal; it’s just I couldn’t help but glance at Suzune-san once in a while.

I have calmed down a little. Just a little.

I was barely paying attention to the class, even though the subject was my favorite.

It was then,

*Tap*

I felt something hitting me on my arm.

I glanced and found it was a small chit.

I glanced to my right and found Suzune-san looking at the teacher but the corner of her lips were curved.

I took the paper and unfolded it.

[If you keep staring at me, I might just come over to your desk to give you a better view.]

“⁄⁠•⁠⁄⁠-⁠⁄⁠•⁠⁄” O-Oh, she noticed.

Bad Akito…need to control myself.

I took my pen and wrote something on the back of the paper,

‘I don’t mind you sharing the seat, but I don’t want to be called a pervert again.’

I flicked the chit back to her and waited for her reaction.

She hurriedly read it and barely suppressed a smile.

Taking another portion of the paper, she wrote down something and threw it at me.

This time, I was also a little impatient.

Unfurling the paper, I read,

[Exactly what do you plan on doing that I might end up calling you a pervert?]

I smirked, ‘You can’t expect me to not do anything when such a beautiful girl is sharing the seat with me.’

Her reaction was endearing. She blushed slightly and again sent me a message,

[Pervert.]

I suppressed a laugh. Didn’t do anything yet, called a pervert.

“Ahem, Akito-kun. I know Suzune-chan is pretty, but don’t flirt with her so openly.” Suggested the history teacher.

A few giggle at the comment, while Suzune-san blushed furiously.

I was flustered as well, didn’t expect to be caught.

In the end, I just apologized and decided to focus on the class.

Soon, the bell notified us that we could finally take a break.

I heaved a long sigh as Ieaned back in my seat.

On my right, what I expected was happening.

More than seven students gathered around Suzune-san, asking all kinds of questions, but I heard more than once about her hair.

It was surprising that neither Daiki nor Takuya were in the group nor their girlfriends.

Maybe they didn’t want to approach her since she was showing interest in me.

Showing interest in me…woah…I didn’t know I would say something like this about a girl. What is this? Is this happiness?

It was then, “Why don’t you have lunch with us? We can help you get familiar with the school, too.”

I paused and then turned to look at her.

Suzune-san also looked at me, but unlike Yuki who pretended to be helpless when others approached her, Suzune-san seemed confident.

Turning back to the guy who asked her, she said, “Ah, no thanks. I plan on eating lunch with Akito-kun.”

She said straightforwardly.

The others started glancing around helplessly. It was the first time they got rejected after all.

It was then that Tachibana-san and her delinquent boyfriend stepped in…what was his name? Kaito?

Kaito rested his hand on her desk before telling her, “You should stop hanging out with such a wimp. Let us take care of you-”

It was strange that a moment I was sitting and the next, I had my hand on Kaito’s shoulder.

Everyone turned silent as Kaito turned to look at me.

He was much taller and broader than me, but the last thing I felt was intimidation.

Looking him dead in the eye, I said,
“When she says she doesn’t want to eat with you, take the damn hint and drag your desperate, forceful ass somewhere else.”

My words cause his eyes to grow wide.

I didn’t move from my spot.

I never fought for Yuki since she never showed interest in being with me.

But Suzune-san…she was different. Since she wants to be with me, I won’t let some wannabe goon come between us.

“You…!” He stepped toward me, only to be pulled away by a familiar guy.

“Takuya?! What are you doing?” Asked a flustered Kaito.

Takuya and Daiki pulled him away saying, “He is not worth the effort. Let’s go.”

I narrowed my eyes, were they helping me now?

Regardless, I lifted my desk and attached it to Suzune-san.

The others slowly dispersed as I finally sat beside the girl.

Turning to look at her, I found her smiling ear to ear with her ears red.

I smiled in response before using a few familiar words, “Staring at me like that…pervert.”
