Instant Messiah - Vol 1 Chapter 3
Vol 1 Chapter 3 – The Nameless Woman
The circumstances that led him—Nine—to such a situation should probably be explained to some extent.
However, there are far too few historical records to tell that story.
Even whether “Nine” was his real name remains a subject of ongoing debate among historians of later years.
Yet, there is hardly anyone who doubts that he, as a person, actually existed.
Because what he accomplished had far too great an impact on humanity, and on the Demons.
Some called him a “Hero.”
Some called him a “Warlord.”
Some called him a “Traitor.”
Some called him a “Madman.”
Personally, I think the title of “Philanderer” suits him best, but the most widely accepted name for him would have to be this:
“Devil.”
The Salia faith treats his name as synonymous with the Devil, and among the neo-sects, there are even those who claim that the word “Devil” does not refer to the Demons, but to Nine himself.
Therefore, when it comes to the true face he wore—the one absent from the history books—I personally believe that only those of us directly involved can judge him in any real sense.
So, let me tell the tale.
I, who stood closest to him, and who seduced him.
I will speak of just one powerless human—a man who brought low both humanity and Demons, and fell to hell.
Of my sins.
Of my love.
I don’t regret a single thing, so this is no repentance.
If I were to show remorse, it would only tarnish him, so I will never apologize.
I simply believe that thinking of him is my only atonement.
Therefore, please, listen to my memories.
—Ah, where exactly did the threads of fate begin to unravel…?
