“Okay, I’ll give you a quick rundown. EXA will be sponsoring and participating in the pudding division of the event ‘First World Festival: Sweets Satellite’ to be held in mid-August. Yuusei-kun, you’re the special guest.”
Today, I had come to Youshun Agency to confirm the details of an upcoming job.
“Where is the event being held?”
“At the Featuring Forum in the Future City Area, specifically the grand exhibition hall FF21. And this is the floor map.”
The map displayed on the front monitor showed a vast space, fitting for something called a grand exhibition hall. Just from this alone, it was clear that this was going to be a large-scale event.
“That’s quite a large venue.”
“It is, isn’t it? I imagine it’s because major foreign food companies are involved and since it’s their very first festival, they probably want to go all out.”
Looking at the floor map, one could see numerous booths called “Satellites,” each organized by dessert type. It truly was a festival of sweets.
Let’s see, where’s the pudding one?
“…There it is. So this is the Pudding Satellite. Huh. That’s a pretty big area for just pudding.”
The Pudding Satellite was located in a very prominent spot, right along the main street near the event stage. Since pudding was a popular dessert, it made sense that the number of participating stores was high, but even so, the space allocated to it was quite generous.
“Pudding has the best location, right? I was surprised when I saw it too, but apparently, this is a special arrangement at the request of the main sponsor. It seems that the sponsor recently founded a group related to pudding and wants to use this event as a debut or a push for it.”
“A group related to pudding? That’s a thing? Now I’m curious.”
“I had never heard of it either… Let’s see, here it is. WCLPP: ‘World Committee for the Love and Popularization of Pudding.’ Ever heard of it, Yuusei-kun?”
That sounds… Kind of familiar?
“I think I’ve heard the name before, maybe.”
Yeah, probably. I’m pretty sure I have.
“Then I guess I need to study up more. It makes sense that Yoriko-san would know about it because of her job, but if even you know about it, Yuusei-kun… That means I need to do my homework. Apparently, the representative of this organization is Japanese. That seems to be the reason the first event is being held in Japan. I think the name was listed somewhere…”
A Japanese person. Promoting the love of pudding…. Their name…
“Found it! K. TAKEDA. This is the person. But I haven’t been able to dig up much about their background. Just the surname Takeda—could be 武田, 竹田, 岳田, 丈田, 猛田, 建多(all different writing for Takeda)—there are a lot of possibilities. And their first initial is K. Could be Keiko, Kyouko, Karen, Kaori… Too many candidates came up when I tried searching.”
Yeah. Considering the common sense of this world, you’d assume a woman would be heading up this kind of group. Though I’m not 100% sure, but… Should I really say I know who this person is?
《There’s no doubt about it. The representative of the “World Committee for the Love and Promotion of Pudding,” K. TAKEDA, is Kousei Takeda.》
I knew it. That confirms it.
“Um, I haven’t confirmed it directly with him, but I think I know this person.”
“Really? Ah, so TAKEDA is Takeda(武田)? Could it he’s your relative?”
“Yes. Kousei Takeda. I think K. TAKEDA is my father. He just returned to Japan recently.”

Yoriko had invited Jun over for a casual drink at home to hear her excited shouts of “News! Big news!”—but she hadn’t expected such a shocking revelation.
“The representative is a man? And he’s Yuusei-kun’s father? Wow, I did not see that coming.”
“I know, right? Right, right, right?!”
“I mean, now I’m super curious. Do you know what kind of person he is?”
Since Yoriko was planning to expand Hexagon Pudding and related products commercially, she had wanted to use this opportunity to get to know the representative of WCLPP, the organization backed by the event’s main sponsor. But for some reason, she’d been unable to get through. The organization’s side had been surprisingly impenetrable, and so far she hadn’t succeeded in making contact with the representative of this group.
“There’s no wonder I can’t get any information regarding his background. Apparently, he’s been working in a foreign trade company overseas this whole time. I think it might be one of those big multinational groups? He just came back to Japan after ten years.”
“So that means Kousei Takeda is married to a foreign big shot?”
Yoriko asked, deep in thought.
“About that part… Yuusei-kun doesn’t seem to know much about either. His father is, I think, thirty-nine years old. The women connected to him mostly live abroad, with only one Japanese among them. Including Yuusei-kun’s mother, there are only five in total. …He must be a catch.”
“Hold on. Aren’t you being a little hasty? You can’t know if you’re compatible without meeting him first and in my case, he’d be a key business partner, so I can’t just go hitting on him so nonchalantly like that. As disappointing as that is, he’s out of my radar…”
She was definitely intrigued by Yuusei’s father—but mixing work and personal feelings was risky. Or so Yoriko thought… Up until that moment.
“Ufufu. You might not be able to resist though. According to Yuusei-kun, his dad looks just like him.”
“What? You mean in appearance? There are two people in the world with that face?”
“Exactly. Isn’t that amazing? Like Yuusei-kun in his prime of manhood! Just seeing him would be a treat. Maybe even get a photo together? Or have tea, if you’re lucky? What do you say? Don’t you want to give it a shot? I’m already looking forward to meeting him so much. So, I’ll be going to the event too as Yuusei-kun’s escort, okay?”
Jun’s excitement was already through the roof, and it was, frankly, a very tempting idea for Yoriko as well.
“Aren’t you abusing your authority? But it’s not fair if only you get to go! Then let me tag along too. I’ll rearrange my schedule and free up some time that day. There’s plenty to talk about related to the event, so having a chat over tea won’t seem out of place at all. Yes, it’s all for the love and promotion of pudding!”
“And your real reason iiiiis?”
“A chance encounter? Maybe—just maybe—there’ll be a dreamy encounter like in those romantic urban legends!”
“Now that’s the spirit!”
