Well, that was true.

“Last year I transferred schools, so everything was hectic and I just forgot.”

“That’s fair. Things were pretty chaotic around you, but I still think you should at least go check out your first-choice if you can. It’s never too late after all.”

“Yeah, you’re right.”

What we had been talking about was checking out prospective universities—in other words, attending an open campus.

“Well, to be honest, even if your first time visiting is on the day of the interview… I don’t think it’ll stop you from getting in, but it definitely won’t leave a good impression.”

Exactly. I should’ve gone last year. I thought that, but back then I had just arrived in this world, and I wasn’t thinking that far ahead. No use crying over spilled milk though.

“The girls in our grade are so caught up in exam preparation that they’re too busy for anything else. So I’m not sure what to do.”

Their schedules were already packed with mock exams and special lectures, so asking them to come along with me might just be a bother to them. 

“Yeah. We already went to most of them, so why not try going with someone from a different grade?”

“Someone from another grade?”

“Hey, Sanae-chan, I’m thinking of going to an open campus. Do you think anyone would come with me if I asked?”

“An open campus, huh? You only just started high school, and you’re already worrying about college entrance exams? Yui, you’re way more motivated than you look.”

Yui had already completely moved on from the incident where she forgot to sign up for the recent English proficiency test.

“Your Onii-chan… You mean Yuusei-senpai?”

“You’re going with him? Us? Together?”

“Yeah. My Onii-chan totally forgot to visit any universities… He’s such a klutz, huh? But everyone around him is already deep into exam prep, so he asked me if we could go together.”

“Going out with Yuusei-senpai… I—I have to book a salon. And what about clothes…? I can just wear my uniforms, right?”

It was Haruka Sagara, a classmate, who approached them at just the right moment.

Several girls who had been edging closer with hopes of joining were visibly deflated, their shoulders slumping all at once.

“Yui, the others are interested in going to the open campus too.”

“Yui, Sanae-chan, and Haruka-chan are all going too, so even if Onii-chan is the only third-year around, I’m sure it won’t feel awkward.”

“Yeah. They’re both good girls, just like Yui, so that’s a relief at least.”

“Right. Just make sure you don’t get lost, okay? I hear university campuses are huge, and if we get separated, it’ll be hard to find you again, Onii-chan.”
