Chapter 94: Suzume-chan Is Basically a Teaser (Behind the Scenes of Hug Commotion, Suzume’s Perspective)
I gently touched the sensor button attached to the earphones by my ear to control my view naturally.
“Where is Hisui-san now?” Using the digital contact lens in one eye, I checked the surveillance cameras and other information.
“Ah, ah, test, test, testing. Attention, all personnel.”
Through the intercom at my collar, I spoke not through the building’s PA system but to the staff communication, adding some meaningless words to draw attention. Starting directly with the main topic often results in missed information, so a bit of preamble is necessary.
“What’s up? Ready to listen?”
Hearing a response, I continued.
“Currently, Hisui-san is having a service time at Bijin no Yu. If anyone is free, please join in or casually inform nearby guests.”
“Wha?!”
“Got it, service time noted.”
“Details, please!”
“See for yourself.”
I blurred my words, like an old game strategy guide, although the voice could be picked up, the small size of the device meant the resolution wasn’t great.
“Yay!”
The work communication became lively. It’s generally set up for group conversation.
“Darn, I’m busy.”
“Those with bad timing, just beg for it later.”
“Alright.”
When something good happens, information spreads instantly like this.
My device, with command center privileges, is always connected to the surveillance cameras, so this kind of thing is a piece of cake.
“Aren’t you going, Suzume-chan?”
Suddenly, a voice from the real world, not the communication system, called out to me.
I shuddered and turned around quickly. It was Tsumugi-san.
“I can go a bit later. I might be third in line after Yata Grandma…”
“Oh? Next is?”
“Tsumugi-san, isn’t it?”
“Oh my…”
She tilted her head slightly, troubled.
“I can wait, or you can go first, Suzume-chan?”
“Ehhh…”
I couldn’t help but show my true feelings.
“I’ll go a bit later.”
For now, I don’t want to get too close to men. That’s why I push others forward.
Sooner or later, I’ll probably be embraced, but I’m not in a hurry.
“They aren’t scary people right now, you know?”
Tsumugi-san reassured me.
“And your source?”
“Misago brags during work breaks.”
“Well, that makes sense…”
Given her work position, she’s the closest one to hear about it. It couldn’t be helped.
“Well, you remember everything because you’re too smart, but not all men are like that.”
“I know that…”
I sighed in agreement. Really, having a good memory can be troublesome.
I’ve remembered everything since birth. Literally.
Even though the memories of being zero years old are vague, I still have a faint recollection of Kohaku-san being kind.
But I clearly remember that idiot after that—the heat, the pain, the fear, everything too vividly.
That’s why I’m afraid of men. But in this world, especially seeing Misago and Hachikuma, most girls are stronger than men, so men are seen as prey. But I’m on the smaller side, so it’s a bit complicated for me.
“I’ll wait a bit longer. There are many volunteers, so I’ll amuse myself by teasing the forerunners.”
“Don’t overdo it, okay?”
Tsumugi-san laughed.
“In the meantime, it looks like there are lots of casualties, so I’ll go follow up.”
The surveillance camera in the dressing room showed happy, smiling, but naked guests lying down.
“Alright, see you.”
She sent me off with a wry smile.
(Well, really, although there are some gaps, they seem like good people so far.)
I thought about this evaluation and sighed softly.

The reason there were more people at that time was Suzume-chan, the culprit.
During the plot stage, she even had a prosthetic eye for this reason. Specifically, cigarette ash fell into Suzume’s eye when she was at my feet. She cried a lot, which annoyed me, so I kicked her over. You can imagine, even the mild-mannered Tsumugi-san got really angry.
Even now, though it’s still in the prototype stage, smart contacts are available, so we went with that, reducing her guilt a bit.
The burn from her childhood is gone, but she still remembers the heat and pain vividly.

Chapter 95: Hachikuma-san and the Chain, in the Hospital Room After the Vaccination (Hachikuma’s Perspective)
(They sure are getting a lot of shots…)
From a bit of a distance, I watched the scene absentmindedly.
Moving from the examination room to the treatment room, Hisui-san was getting one vaccine injection after another in his arm.
The one administering the shots was one of the grandmothers from the main house, Grandma Toki. She’s a veteran with decades of experience, so there was nothing uncertain about her movements.
Hisui-san, who was getting the shots, stayed calm without reacting, like a carp on a cutting board.
But the way the assistant nurses were looking was something else.
Their eyes had been sparkling and dreamy since a while ago. Even from the same gender’s perspective, the intensity of their gazes was noticeable, so Hisui-san must have realized too, yet he remained calm as ever.
Well, they did surround him earlier and touched him while he was naked. It’s no wonder they are acting like this now.
It can’t be helped; Hisui-san looks sexy just by standing there. When he rolled up his sleeve for the shots, you could see the faint tan lines. His hand, wrist, and upper arm were slightly different in color. His upper arm was especially white, which added to the charm and made him look even more erotic.
Even though we took a bath together and did plenty of stuff this morning, half-undressed looks have a unique allure.
I’m able to stay calm because we’ve already done what we needed to do, but the assistants look like they’re about to explode. Their faces are bright red, and they look like they could snap at any moment. I want to tell them to calm down a bit.
It’s quite a task to get so many shots. I got all mine already, whether gradually or all at once.
When I joined the Self-Defense Forces, one of the recruits had anti-vaccine parents who were quite chaotic, and it turned out she hadn’t gotten any shots. There was a big fuss about whether she’d get the shots now or refuse and be discharged.
I remember there were even more shots back then, so it really takes some time.
In group living situations, bringing back something like the Spanish flu or a pandemic, or even sharing athlete’s foot or syphilis among all the girls, isn’t a laughing matter. Vaccinations are a matter of life and death.
Grandpa Kohaku also had to recover from some weird illness after almost drowning, so vaccinations are necessary and inevitable.
The bandages after the shots make it look a bit painful.
So, tonight it might be better to go to the acidic wound-healing bath rather than the alkaline smooth-skinned beauty bath.
“Alright, that’s it for today. The rest will be done another day. Stay in the hospital room for observation for about an hour just in case.”
“Thank you very much.”
Hisui-san bowed his head politely to Grandma Toki. He really is a well-mannered person.
“Please lie down and rest for a while.”
We were led to an empty hospital room with just a bed, where they connected him to an electrocardiogram with a fingertip sensor for monitoring.
“Call us if anything happens, okay?”
The nurse said and left the room, leaving us alone.
“Isn’t this a bit much?”
Hisui-san smiled awkwardly, looking a little embarrassed.
“Your health is important, so it’s better to overdo it than underdo it.”
I didn’t say anything about unnecessary trips. It’s part of the training.
“Well, I guess I’ll lie down for a bit.”
He carefully lay down, mindful of the sensors attached to him. His movements made his yukata open slightly, revealing his white chest and navel.
“So careless as always…”
I murmured, my eyes drawn to the sensual sight.
“It’s fine. Yata-chan likes me to stay this way.”
“Self-defense is important too.”
“But right now, it’s just Hachikuma-san in the room. You’re my guardian and rightful wife. It would be silly to be on guard against you.”
“Always ready with a comeback…”
I pouted, feeling a bit uneasy despite his logic.
“Oh, let me whisper something.”
He beckoned me over while lying down.
I sighed with a wry smile at his lazy demeanor and leaned in close.
Muach
He kissed me unexpectedly.
What?!
Surprised, I tried to pull back, but he held my head and neck firmly, not letting me go. His grip was surprisingly strong, and even though I could have fought back, I didn’t want to. My physical and emotional needs overpowered my resistance.
His words about trusting me without defenses echoed in my mind, making me blush even more.
I lost the will to resist and went limp.
In my ears and head, I could hear the heartbeat, though I couldn’t tell whose it was.
“Just close your eyes and stay still, okay?”
I heard a faint metallic sound.
My hands were free, but I didn’t move.
I felt a slightly cold metal around my neck.
“All done…”
He let out a satisfied sigh.
“You can open your eyes now.”
I looked down and saw a familiar jade ring on a platinum chain around my neck.
I touched it hesitantly to make sure it was real…
“Does it fit okay? Not too tight?”
I blinked in surprise.
I thought of saying, “This doesn’t suit me,” or “I’ve only worn dog tags before,” but the words got stuck in my throat.
“Take care of me from now on, okay?”
Hisui-san smiled shyly.
I was speechless, my mind blank, unable to come up with a reply.
Tears welled up and rolled down my cheeks.
I hugged him tightly, letting my emotions take over.
Rustle
Pat, pat
I accidentally hugged him too tightly, making him squirm a bit.
Reluctantly, I let go.
“Showing affection is fine, but be gentle, okay?”
He looked troubled.
“And this chain is a bit inconvenient when hugging. We might need to adjust it.”
The jade ring on the chain around my neck was nestled between my breasts, which made hugging awkward.
But removing it wasn’t an option, so I moved it behind my neck, smiled proudly, and hugged him again.
Later, from Hisui’s Perspective
“I think the chain needs to be shorter.”
I suggested to Yata-chan, and she moved it higher like a collar.
She complained a bit about removing it after putting it on, but it was a funny, affectionate moment.

For Hachikuma-san, the chain had to be thick enough not to break accidentally, so it was quite sturdy.
Giving necklaces or chains to girls can be confusing, with so many questions about material, thickness, length, and what to attach. It’s tough the first time.
Surprise gifts can be tricky.
