Prologue

“Today, I will defeat you, magical girls.”

Right now, I am facing a magical girl.

Not on the ground, but in the sky.

“It’s you again, Nightmare.”

The one speaking to me is the magical girl, Pink. She is always cheerful and friendly to everyone, and acts as the leader of the magical girls.

“Now that we’re here, we won’t let you cause any harm.”

Following the magical girl, Pink, is the magical girl, Red. She has a sporty look and a passionate heart.

“Surrender quietly.”

Next to speak is the magical girl, Blue. With her elegant appearance and sharp mind, she acts as the coordinator of the magical girls. 

As expected of defenders of justice, they speak without fear to someone like me. They’re really brave girls.

And stop calling me Nightmare. I’ve never once referred to myself as Nightmare.

When did I even become Nightmare?

Well, it doesn’t matter. I can change that once I defeat the magical girls and conquer the Earth.

But for now, I need to focus on the magical girls in front of me.

“You can act tough now, but it won’t last.”

With that, I concentrate mana in my right hand and cast a spell towards the magical girls.

I decide to watch their reaction as I release magic from my right hand.

“Whoa!”

“Ugh!”

“Uuh!”

My magic hit them perfectly, and the magical girls were blown backward.

I was only testing their reaction, but it seems I caused considerable damage.

This isn’t even a warm-up.

“Hey, hey, I haven’t even gotten serious yet.”

I can’t believe I just said something so typical of an evil monster.

The magical girls looked at me with frustration after hearing my words.

“Everyone, let’s combine our hearts and use our team attack!”

Huh?

Wait, isn’t it a bit early for that?

We’re still at the very beginning of the fight.

““”Take this, Super Smile Splash!”””

An incredibly powerful magic attack came rushing towards me.

“Wait-wait-wait a second!”

Even though I said that, the magic didn’t stop and hit me directly.

Boom!

A tremendous explosion echoed around, and the blast made the magical girls’ hair flutter.

Ugh, damn it. In the past, we used to exchange a few rounds of attacks before they finished me off with their team attack. But lately, they’ve gotten lazy and start with their team attack right from the beginning.

“Damn it, I’ll remember this!”

Another typical evil monster line from me.

I used my last bit of strength to leave the scene.

One day, I’ll defeat you all.

Damn it, I completely lost yesterday.

My body aches, but I push myself to go to school.

When I arrive at school, I change into my slippers at the shoe locker. Other students enter, chatting happily. Enjoy it while you can; once I conquer Earth, that won’t last.

I enter the 1-2 classroom on the second floor, head to my seat, and lay my head on the desk to rest.

My entire body still hurts from yesterday’s battle.

I embrace this pain, looking forward to our next fight.

The homeroom bell rings.

The door bursts open just as the bell finishes.

“Just in time!”

The girl who comes in has pink hair and looks full of energy.

“You’re always just barely on time, Rio.”

The sporty girl with short red hair says.

“Oh, good morning, Chisa-chan.”

“Rio-san, you should try to come to school with more time to spare.”

The calm, mature girl with long blue hair advises.

“Good morning to you too, Sumire-chan.”

After greeting them, the pink-haired girl goes to her seat, slings her bag over the side, and sits down.

They have no idea.

They don’t know that I know they’re magical girls.
