Yuto’s POV

Saturday morning.

Last night, I couldn’t sleep a wink as anxiety fills my heart, making it beat faster.

Because…today is the day I go out on a ‘date’ with Rei.

I’m not sure if I can even call it a date, but we’re going to go shopping for cookie ingredients and make cookies together at Rei’s house.

When she told me, ‘Let’s make some cookies together at my place’ I was honestly scared. I never wanted to set a foot at her place again.

But I have to endure it, for the sake of my revenge.

“It’s okay, hang in there. All of this will end quickly.”

I silently encourage myself as I prepare for the shopping trip.

Then, I go to the plaza where we decided to meet.

“Yuto~”

Rei calls out to me as she waves her hand at me.

She is wearing a neat white dress today, if I hadn’t known what she’s doing behind my back, I would’ve said that she is very ‘cute’.

But I don’t think she is cute or anything like that now. She looks like nothing but a demon to me.

“Thank you for waiting me.”

“No, I just got here myself. So, where do you want to go to buy the cookie ingredients?”

“Hmm, let’s see…maybe a supermarket near here?”

“Okay then, let’s go.”

We decided to go to a nearby supermarket, which is about a 5-minute walk from the plaza.

On our way to the supermarket, like we always do, we hold hands and have small talks about what happened lately.

The supermarket we are going to right now has various ingredients and daily necessities, so it’s much more like a grocery store.

Now that I think about it, it’s been a while since the last time I came to this supermarket, I think the last time I went here was middle school.

As Rei is putting cookie ingredients into the basket, a question pops into my mind.

Why are we making cookies at her house?

“Hey, Rei.”

“Hmm? What is it?”

“Why did you decide to make cookies for our date?”

“You forgot…”

Rei said so in a small voice.

I forgot?

What is she talking about?

“What do you mean…?”

Rei comes up to me while puffing out her cheeks.

“See, you forgot! We made a promise when we were little! ‘Let’s celebrate our ten years anniversary by making cookies!’ Remember!? You completely forgot about it, don’t you?”

Thinking back, it is true that we have made such promise when we were little.

I admit that I forgot about it now, but about three weeks ago, I had been looking forward to this day.

Until I found out about Rei’s relationship with Shogo.

“Hahaha, is that so?”

“You’re really awful! How could you have forgotten about it!”

“Hahaha, sorry.”

I say so with a fake smile on my face.

Before, I used to find her reaction cute, but now, I don’t feel anything besides the overwhelming desire to slap her on the face.

After buying the needed ingredients at the supermarket, we arrive at Rei’s house.

Rei unlocks the door and goes inside her house.

As I’m about to follow Rei and go inside her house, for some reason, my feet just won’t move.

My legs are trembling uncontrollably.

“Hmm? What’s wrong? Come on in.”

Hang in there, me!

Don’t be scared!

“Ah, yeah.”

Even though I feel terrified, I managed to go inside Rei’s house.

“I’m home~”

“Ojamashimasu”

It seems that Rei’s parents aren’t at home. I don’t see any shoes at the entrance.

“I’ll put the ingredients in the kitchen, okay?”

“Yeah!”

I go towards the kitchen and put the ingredients on the kitchen table.

“Yuto! Can you come to my room for a while?”

I hear Rei say so from upstairs.

Doing as Rei told me so, I go up to her room.

The moment I stand in front of Rei’s room, the events of that day flashes through my mind.

Hah, hah…don’t be scared…hang in there…

Cold sweat runs down my forehead.

I have to do this, for the sake of my revenge.

After taking a deep breath, I open the door.

“Hmm? What’s wrong?”

My heart beats faster and faster.

They…did it in here, didn’t they?

Thinking about it, my heart fills with anger.

I’m urging to kill this person.

I clench my fists tightly and try my best to act natural.

“What do you think of this apron? Does it look good on me…?”

Rei is wearing a cute apron with a bear on it.

“Yeah, it’s looks great on you.”

“Really!? Yay!”

My breath is getting heavier and heavier.

I need go get out of here.

“Okay then, let’s make some cookies now…”

“Yeah!”

And as I turn towards the door, I noticed a torn rubber wrapper left on the bed.

They did it again…

Afterwards, we went to the kitchen and made the cookies.

Rei is really good at baking, she can make cookies as good as store-bought ones.

“Now, let’s decorate it together!”

We decorated the cookie by writing ‘Happy 10^th anniversary!’ on it.

Ah, I really hope our relationship will end soon.

And so, the hellish hours passed.
