Chapter 54: [Aoi] Date with My Boyfriend
“Koichi seems like a playboy. So, you should know a lot about where to go on dates and stuff.”
I looked up at Koichi.
“I’m not a playboy.
I’ve dated a few people in the past, but I wasn’t seriously in love with any of them.
I only love you to death, Aoi.”
“That’s exactly the kind of line a playboy would say!”
I punched Koichi in the stomach.
“Even if it’s just pretend romance, I’m still happy to be your boyfriend, Aoi.
But the prospect of you disappearing… I’m scared.”
Koichi looked at me seriously.
“Aoi……”
Koichi took my hand and brought it to his face.
Then he closed his eyes and started rubbing his cheek against my hand.
“W…what are you doing?”
“I love your hands, Aoi.
Ah, I also like your face and personality.
I’m your boyfriend now. I can do whatever I want with my girlfriend.”
“How dare you!
Just because you’re my boyfriend doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want!”
I tried to pull my hand away with force.
But Koichi, showing off his strength, wouldn’t let go.
“Let’s go somewhere quickly.”
When I said that,
“We don’t have to go anywhere. I’m happy just like this……”
Koichi looked into my eyes and started kissing the back of my hand.
“Stop it. Take me somewhere fun right now!”
I pointed at Koichi with my free hand and ordered him.
Being stared at by Koichi, having my hand kissed…
I didn’t have the confidence to stand there properly anymore.
My head was spinning, and my legs felt weak.
The conflicting feelings of wanting him to do it more and wanting to escape because I felt like I was going crazy made my head confused.

Koichi pulled me by the hand and entered a karaoke room.
“It’s late at night, and there aren’t many places open anymore.
I don’t want to go to an izakaya or a bar though.
What if I accidentally drank alcohol? That would be terrible.”
Koichi scratched his head.
He might have been thinking about the time he drank with Yamaguchi-senpai.
“Aoi. Sing something.”
“Actually, this is my first time doing karaoke. You sing first, Koichi.”
“I don’t really know any songs. I haven’t been watching much TV lately, either.”
We decided to randomly choose songs with interesting titles and sing them with random, made-up rhythms.
“Ahahaha! That’s definitely not how the song goes!”
Koichi laughed out loud at my singing.
“You were just reading the lyrics stiffly yourself!”
We laughed and sang random songs one after another.
After spending about three hours in the karaoke room, we left the store.
The sky over the city was bright.
The sun was starting to rise.
Koichi said, “I want breakfast.”
Then, he pulled my hand again.
He was like a dog eager to go for a walk.
We entered a family restaurant.
Koichi ordered a grilled fish set meal.
I ordered a fruit parfait.
“Aoi! Are you really going to eat that for breakfast?”
“It’s fine! I’ll eat what I want.”
“I’ll eat some later too. I love sweets.”
When his parfait arrived, Koichi tried to feed it to me.
“Here! Boyfriends and girlfriends feed each other like this, you know?”
“It’s embarrassing! Don’t you care about the opinion of the people around us?”
I asked Koichi in a low voice.
“No one is looking at us.”
Koichi raised his eyebrows a little and let out a small laugh.
“Don’t show me that confident smile, you jerk.”
I took his parfait away and ate the cherry and whipped cream from the top.
“Ah! You ate the best part……”
Koichi’s eyes widened.
After the meal, we drank coffee from the drink bar.
I decided to confide in Koichi about something I’d been thinking about.
“Koichi. I feel like I’m starting to hate myself……”
“Eh? What do you mean?”
Koichi leaned forward.
Bright sunlight streamed in through the window.
Another ordinary day was about to begin.
