Chapter 38: Abrupt Love Hotel
“How far do you plan on following me?”
“We’re looking for the fake Aoi-chan, right? It’s dangerous. I want to help too.”
Despite her face still bearing painful-looking bruises, Aoi-chan left the gym early in the morning.
I hurriedly followed after her.
“I’m fine. You should go to university.”
“No, I can’t. If you and the fake Aoi make eye contact, Aoi-chan……”
Aoi-chan might die.
It was too terrifying to put into words, so I fell silent.
Regardless, I decided to stick with Aoi-chan, no matter how much she might dislike it.
“It might be better to have you around, Koichi, I guess. Fine, whatever.”
Aoi-chan sighed.
“Aoi-chan!? What did you just say?”
“I said, ‘fine, whatever’…”
“You called me Koichi! I’m so happy!”
“I can’t exactly call the Portal Manager a weakling, can I?”
“Aoi-chan… I think I’ll start calling you by your name without honorifics too.”
I reached out my hand to Aoi.
“Aoi, let’s go together. To the ends of hell and beyond. I’ll always be with you.”
“Don’t get carried away, Koichi.”
Aoi slapped the hand I had extended.
“….. So, where are we going?”
I peered into Aoi’s eyes.
She glared at me with her less swollen eye.
“First, we’re going to a facility where Travelers gather to conduct an inquiry.”
“Travelers? You mean people from other world lines…”
—
“This is it.”
The place Aoi brought me to was a building with a garish purple wall and a yellow sign that stood out.
“This place…”
The yellow sign read “Hotel Another World.”
It was obviously a hotel for couples…… or a “love hotel”.
“Aoi… I’m so glad you want to go to a place like this with me.
I’m incredibly happy about that. I’m always ready for it.
But you’re still covered in wounds, so I think it would be better to wait until you’ve healed a bit more.
Oh! Or do you want to take a nap here? My bed is kind of hard I guess.
Got it! Let’s take a second nap together.”
I swallowed my saliva and looked at Aoi’s face.
“You idiot! You’re misunderstanding something. This is the facility where Travelers gather!”
Aoi raised her fist and brought it close to my face.
“What!? So that’s what it is… Huh? This place?”
At the entrance of the hotel, the word “No Vacancy” was displayed in red lights.
“This is a hotel that’s permanently fully booked.
Koichi, just keep quiet and don’t say unnecessary things.”
Aoi whispered and pressed the buzzer at the hotel entrance.
The monitor light turned on, and a voice came through the intercom.
“What’s the name of the Portal Developer?”
“Gerry de Yuruyuru.”
Aoi answered the question,
It was probably a password or something similar.
The hotel’s double doors automatically opened with a whoosh.
We stepped inside.
