Chapter 24 – I’m Not Good at Thinking Deeply
When I was talking with Hiruma-san, I thought to myself, “Hmm, that’s how it is” about the “portal,” the “women with increased libido,” and everything.
But now that I’ve calmed down and thought about it, it’s pretty strange.
I threw a ring at the wall, and from that hole in the wall, a bunch of savage women emerged.
What kind of mechanism is that?
It’s not normal for a hole to appear in the wall, and people to come out of it.
The women returned to the gym the next day with glowing, refreshed faces.
Then, in a good mood, they happily returned to their homeland through the portal, the hole in the wall.
The women seemed happy, and so did Hiruma-san.
I was happy too, having received a lot of money.
Everyone was happy.
So, even though I didn’t understand the mechanism at all, I figured it was fine.
I’ve never been good at thinking deeply about things.
Even though a lot of strange things were happening, I figured there was no need to dig too deep as long as everyone was happy.
When I peeled the portal off the wall, it returned to its original size, a small bracelet.
“My business rivals are targeting the portal and you, Koichi.
If any worms make contact with you, be sure to let me know.”
“Huh? How do the worms get to this world?
I thought the portal was closed.”
“There’s not just one way to get to this world… that’s all I’ll say.”
“Hmm. I have another question.
How can I tell if someone is a Worm?
I was able to notice the fake Aoi-chan because I love Aoi-chan, but I’m not confident I’d be able to spot the others if they’re fakes.”
“Worms usually try to seduce you.
They say sweet things, try to lure you in, and attempt to captivate you.
If you feel like someone is unnaturally seducing you, assume they’re a worm.”
“Hmm…”
“If you’re not sure if someone is a worm or not, just pretend to go along with their seduction.
Act like you’re falling for their trap and try to find out more about them.”
“I see. Got it!”
“You’re reliable,”
Hiruma-san smiled.
“Just make sure you don’t lose or let anyone take the portal.”
She said as I tried to hand the portal back to her.
“Huh? You want me to keep it? I thought I should give it back to you.”
“The portal should be kept by its manager.”
Hiruma-san shrugged.
I put the portal back into my duffel bag in my room.
I kicked the duffel bag under the bed.
(The portal… It’s such a mysterious item.)
Hiruma-san had warned me.
If I threw the ring at the wall, the portal would open anytime.
But she also told me that I must not go through it myself.
No matter how curious I might be or how alluring the darkness might seem, she said I shouldn’t do it
I would never be able to come back.
That’s what she said.

“Kashitani-kun! Didn’t you say you didn’t have a part-time job today?
Want to walk home together?”
The next day.
Out of nowhere, Yamaguchi Yuuka, the girl who looked like a Japanese doll, approached me.
I stared at Yamaguchi-san’s face.
(She suddenly invited me… Is this an attempt at seduction? Could she be a worm?)
“I know a delicious ramen shop. I’ll treat you.”
(Wow. Trying to lure me with food?! The possibility of her being a worm just increased.)
I remembered Hiruma-san’s words.
If I felt like someone was seducing me, I should pretend to fall for their trap and try to find out more about them…
Is what she said.
“Eh, you’re treating me? I’m looking forward to it.”
I accepted Yamaguchi-san’s invitation.
Yamaguchi-san and I walked side by side, heading home together.
A short distance away, Aoi-chan was watching us, but I didn’t notice her.
