Chapter 14: A Date with Three People (Part 2)
“Then, let’s go to karaoke. I’ve never been there before.”
With Elna’s suggestion, we decided to go to karaoke.
The two of them were already humming happily.
To be honest, I wasn’t excited at all.
The reason was simple—I’m tone-deaf.
However, since it was Elna’s first time too, there was a slight chance she might be tone-deaf as well… I placed a tiny bit of hope on that possibility.
But the thought of hearing Serizawa sing live made it impossible for me to refuse.
Once we arrived at the karaoke place, Serizawa smoothly handled the check-in like she was used to it.
“You don’t look too happy. Could it be that you’re not good at karaoke?”
“Ah… To be honest, I’m tone-deaf…”
“Oh? Is that so? Then you don’t have to force yourself to sing.”
“…If possible, I’d rather not.”
“Then, let’s sing together.”
After being shown to our room, Serizawa immediately grabbed a microphone.
“Alright, I’ll go first. I’ll let you hear my live singing.” She entered her song first.
It was her debut song—Love’s Poker Face.
As I listened, captivated by the way she sang while posing just for me, Elna pinched my side.
Then, it was Elna’s turn to sing.
The song she chose was unexpectedly an anime song from the late 2000s.
She sang the slightly old but once-popular anime song with a beautiful voice and perfect pitch.
The faint hope that she might be tone-deaf was completely shattered, leaving me as the only one here who couldn’t sing.
Then, Elna whispered into my ear.
“I worked hard to memorize anime songs so that one day we could sing together. So, let’s sing together, okay?” She handed me the microphone.
So that’s what this was about…
She learned it for my sake.
As I took the microphone, Serizawa chimed in, “I want to sing too!” and joined in.
I was the only one using a microphone, while Serizawa and Elna reluctantly shared one.
With them singing along, my bad singing didn’t stand out as much. Somehow, I started having fun and even began to like karaoke a little.
After singing too much and slightly straining my throat, we went home, took a bath, and then all lazed around on the bed.
Then, Elna held my hand and started getting affectionate. Soon, Serizawa joined in too.
“Hey… My right side is my territory. Don’t just come in without permission.”
“You’re one to talk. Your left foot is coming into my space. Stop invading my territory.”
They started claiming ownership of different halves of my body, as if they had the right to control them.
“Serizawa… Your foot is, um…”
“Enough with the ‘Serizawa-san.’ Just call me by my name,” she said, clearly knowing what she was doing as she pressed her foot against my lower body.
“Hey, seriously, this is bad!”
“Ehehe… Are you getting in the mood?”
Just as we were enjoying our happy moment—
A news report suddenly came on.

Chapter 15: Trauma
“There has been a terrorist attack in France…”
As soon as those words came from the TV, Elna reacted immediately.
The screen showed thick smoke rising from what looked like an airport, with ambulances and sirens blaring loudly.
“…No way.”
The words slipped out as I watched the scene.
But from what I had heard, Elna’s father was staying in Japan for a while.
So, it was unlikely that he had been caught in this attack.
Even so, as Elna watched the screen, a single tear rolled down her cheek.
“Hey, are you okay?”
“Ah… yeah… I’m fine. It just reminded me of something bad from the past.”
“…I see.” With that, I turned off the TV.
I wanted to ask what had happened, but it felt too cruel to bring it up. Instead, I decided to make some tea to help her calm down.
Then, Seina bluntly asked, “What happened?”
Hey, seriously? You’re just gonna ask that?
“…It’s nothing much. My family has always been wealthy, so we’ve been targeted a lot. That’s why I learned martial arts. But this… this happened when I was five years old.”
And with that, she began her story.
My name is Elna Isaac.
I grew up in a wealthy family, surrounded by love and enjoying a happy childhood.
I loved both my mother and father.
But most of all, I loved my mother.
She was always kind to me, spoiled me, and never got angry. I adored her.
Because I was both cute and from a rich family, people around me always treated me well, putting me on a pedestal. That made me act arrogantly toward everyone.
Even so, no one ever went against me. They just played along at a comfortable distance, pretending to be my friends.
Then, one day…
My father worked overseas most of the time, so he was rarely home. My daily life mostly consisted of spending time with my mother and the security personnel.
That day, just like always, I was playing games with the security guards, having fun.
Then suddenly, five men burst into the house and started taking down the guards one after another.
There were about ten guards in total, all highly trained in martial arts. But despite their skills, they were overpowered and defeated one by one.
As I watched the horrifying scene unfold right in front of me, I was so scared that my legs gave out. I couldn’t even run.
At that moment, my mother rushed in, having heard the commotion.
She took in the situation, saw that most of the guards had been taken down, and quietly muttered:
“…Don’t lay a hand on my daughter.”
The men grinned wickedly and agreed.
I don’t remember much after that.
I was taken to another room, and then I heard my mother’s screams.
At the same time, the sound of sirens filled the air.
…My mother was killed.
They murdered her.
And not just that… they violated her before killing her.
The culprits were caught almost immediately.
It turned out… they were former security personnel.
They had been fired for misconduct and held a grudge, which led to this attack.
After that, whenever I heard sirens, my body would start shaking.
I underwent various treatments and recovered mentally, but I knew I needed to learn how to protect myself. So, I devoted myself to martial arts.
Even now, there are still times when I get scared.
One of the reasons I came to Japan was because of its safety.
At the same time, my father introduced me to someone.
That person… was Momiji-kun.
