Chitose’s POV

(Day Three)

I ask Airi-chan to pass the letter to Akkun.

I actually want to see his reaction right away, but I hold myself back and stay quiet for the day.

After school, unable to hold myself back any longer, I ask Airi-chan about Akkun’s reaction.

She told me he seemed to be contemplating various things.

If Akkun is thinking about me even just a little, I’m happy.

When I returned home, I receive another message from Mom.

She said that she will be back early today, so we’re going to order delivery for dinner.

When Mom comes home, senpai is with her.

Senpai’s parents are also busy, so there are times when he comes over to have dinner together.

I think that it would be great if senpai stops coming over, but I haven’t told Mom anything about what happened between us, so there is nothing I can do.

We eat pizza for dinner and watch a movie together after that.

I actually don’t want to watch the movie together with them, but I don’t have any excuses to not so.

When senpai is about to leave, he apologizes for everything and gives me a cute pair of earrings as a gift.

I refuse because I know Airi-chan would get angry if she found out that I took the gift from senpai.

Besides, I haven’t gotten my ears pierced yet.

However, senpai insists that I take it and say that it would be a good idea to give Airi-chan and Akkun a gift myself.

When I think about it, it’s indeed a good idea.

So, I decided to take out the stuffed animal keychain that I started making during handicraft club activities.

I begin to make three stuffed animal keychains, one for each of us.

(Day Four)

Even though I stayed up all night, I couldn’t finish the keychains.

So during lunch break, I continue working on them in the club room.

Even after school, I stop by the club room to work on them.

Although I wanted to talk to Akkun when we passed each other, I refrained myself from doing so and just nodded at him.

In the club room, I happened to run into a senpai who I get along well with.

She is surprised to see me there, but when I briefly explained the situation, she offers to help.

We managed to make cute stuffed animal keychains of a cat, a dog, and a rabbit.

Well, to be honest, it seems a bit ugly.

I’m planning to give the dog to Akkun and the cat to Airi-chan.

On the way home, I run into Airi-chan who also just finished her club activities.

So, I give her the stuffed animal keychains that I just finished making.

“I’ll make sure to give it to Akito, I’m sure he will be happy too.”

Airi-chan seems really happy as she says so.

Since I received a message from Mom, I head to the restaurant near the station again.

When I get there, sure enough, senpai is there with Mom again.

As usual, after we finished eating, Mom returns to work, leaving me alone with senpai.

“I’m sorry. I’m still worried after all, so I asked Chiaki-sensei to call you.”

“Well, as senpai suggested, both the letter and the gift seemed to have some effect, so I’m grateful for that.”

“Those won’t atone for my sins. That’s why, I’m going to become a real villain.”

“What do you mean by that?”

“Can you come here with them tomorrow?”

“I think it’s possible if I ask Airi-chan.”

“That’s good. Then, I’ll approach you here tomorrow, if you clearly reject me, maybe your boyfriend will regain his trust towards you. What do you think about that?”

“Why would you do that? There’s no benefit for you, right?”

“If the person I like can be happy, that’s enough for me. Also, I’ll give you movie tickets. Bring it up at the right moment, suggest going together with everyone. That way, you should be able to reconcile with them.”

“…thank you, Senpai. Even after I said such awful things and rejected you…”

“Don’t worry about it. Ah, but, can I ask you one favour?”

“What is it?”

“When it’s just the two of us, is it okay if I call you ‘Chitose’?”

“…okay. If that’s all, then it’s fine.”

“Alright, great! Thank you, Chitose.”

With that, senpai happily grabs my hand.

On the way home, he follows me from a distance, just like before.

(Day Five)

In the morning, I send a message to Airi-chan asking if we can go to school together.

After a while, Airi-chan sends a reply saying it would be okay.

So, I wait at our usual meeting spot.

As promised, Airi-chan and Akkun show up, but unfortunately, Akkun doesn’t attach the stuffed animal keychain that I gave to his bag.

However, Airi-chan has the cat keychain attached to her bag.

After school, I ask Airi-chan if the three of us can go out to have dinner together.

Airi-chan says that she will ask Akkun about it.

Not long after, Airi-chan comes back with Akkun saying that we can have dinner together.

We end up going to the family restaurant near the station.

Then, as planned, Senpai approaches me, and I clearly reject him.

Senpai ends up becoming the villain…just thinking about it makes my heart hurts.

But at the same time, I feel that Akkun will surely understand my determination to regain their trust.

Tears naturally start to fall.

Seeing me crying, Airi-chan gently embraces me.

For the first time in a while, I feel like the three of us can get along.

Then, Airi-chan brings up the movie we have talked about beforehand.

In the end, the three of us decided to go see it together tomorrow.

Everything went well just as Senpai planned.

In my heart, I’m truly grateful towards senpai.
