I’m Betrayed by My Childhood Friend Who is Also My Lover, but My Other Childhood Friend Healed Me, So I Feel Like I Can Recover and Be Happy ~Is it True That Friendship Between a Man and Woman is Impossible? - Chapter 18
Seven Days (2)
(Day Four)
Just like yesterday, Chitose didn’t particularly come up to me.
The day passes peacefully.
After school, I part ways with Airi who is going to her club activities.
On my way home, I run into Chitose in the hallway, but as promised, she didn’t speak to me and just nod as we pass each other.
After Airi return from her club activities, we have dinner together as usual.
During dinner, Airi gives me a keychain.
It’s an ugly dog?
Then Airi shows me a similar keychain, but hers has an ugly cat on it.
Airi says that the keychains are made by Chitose.
The cat has sharp-looking eyes.
Airi looks happy as she attaches the keychain to her bag.
As for the dog, it has droopy eyes and somewhat pitiful look…somehow, it reminds me of Chitose.
I don’t attach the keychain to my bag, but since the keychain itself isn’t at fault, I decided to put it in the corner of my desk.
(Day Five)
Early in the morning, Airi asks me if it’s okay for Chitose to go to and from school with us today.
Without thinking much about it, I agreed.
Chitose follows us from a slight distance.
I didn’t initiate any conversation with Chitose, but whenever Airi speaks to her, she looks happy.
It feels like our daily lives that we had until two weeks ago has returned a little bit.
Then, Chitose spend the day at school without interacting much with me.
After school, Airi suggests that the three of us go out for dinner.
I’m a bit reluctant at first, but since we’re not planning to have dinner at my home, I agreed.
We end up deciding to have dinner at a family restaurant together.
Following behind them, the three of us make our way to the family restaurant near the station.
Upon entering the family restaurant, Airi and Chitose sit across from each other.
As I’m looking at the menu, trying to decide what to order, that guy walks into the restaurant.
When he walks towards our table, he notices Chitose.
Then, he starts to casually talk to her.
“Ah, Chitose-chan, it’s been a while. How have you been?”
Airi and I glare at him with eyes that could kill.
Airi makes a bitter face and talks to Hiruma Yosuke.
“I’m sorry. I believe I told you not to talk to us anymore.”
“Hmm, did you? But even if we’re no longer friends, we’re still acquaintances, right? By the way, this seat is empty, right? Can I sit here?”
He seems to ignore us and brazenly tries to sit next to Chitose.
“Please stop it!!”
Chitose yells so loudly to stop the scumbag.
All the attention in the restaurant is on the scumbag, even he can’t stand it.
He clicks his tongue and leaves the restaurant.
“Chitose, you did well.”
Airi says so kindly to Chitose, who is in tears.
“Yeah, because…because…”
Unable to hold back her tears, Chitose buries her face in Airi’s chest and begin to cry quietly.
Airi gently strokes Chitose’s head as she cries.
After that, the atmosphere feels a bit awkward, but since Chitose tries to act cheerful, little by little, Airi’s smile returns.
In the end, we have dinner together and leave the restaurant.
During dinner, Airi mentioned that she received movie tickets from her senpai from the tea ceremony club and suggests that the three of us go tomorrow.
Since I don’t have any plans, I agreed.
It’s decided, the three of us will go to the movies tomorrow.
Given what happened with the scumbag, both Airi and I decided to see Chitose off home.
(Day Six)
Since we’re planning to go to the movies in the afternoon, I take it easy until then.
When it’s about time, I get ready and contact Airi.
Then, I meet up with Airi to go pick up Chitose.
At the usual meeting spot for going to school, Chitose is waiting for us.
She is wearing a rather seductive mini-skirt.
After the three of us met up, we head straight to the movie theatre near the station.
While the theatre itself is quite crowded, the movie we plan to see doesn’t seem to be very popular.
There are quite a few empty seats.
As we try to choose the seats together in a row, Chitose hesitates and says she will sit in the back row by herself.
In the end, Airi and I sit next to each other.
Whereas Chitose is sitting in the row behind us.
When the theatre entrance opens 10 minutes before the show, Chitose suddenly feels the urge to use the restroom, so she tells us to go ahead and enter first.
While the pre-show announcements are playing, Chitose makes it just in time before the movie starts.
By the way, the movie we’re watching is a horror film, which Airi likes very much.
On the other hand, Chitose doesn’t like horror movies, so after the movie ends, she seems a bit flushed and teary-eyed.
Afterwards, the three of us go to a café and order some dessert.
Both Airi and Chitose seem relaxed.
We spend an enjoyable time discussing the movie we just watched.
In the evening, Chitose has to leave early because she has plans with her mother.
Chitose’s mother is a teacher at a cram school near the station.
It seems that they have plans to have dinner together.
“Akito, I think Chitose is really trying her best to regain our trust. Do you think you can forgive her eventually?”
Airi asks me so as she sadly watches Chitose leaves.
I can’t say anything back to her words.

(Day Seven)
I wake up early in the morning.
Then I start to read through the investigation report that Kouta sent to me last night.
I want to consider my future plans.
As I read the contents of the report, I remember the scene from that time.
I’ve decided, it’s time to bring down the curtain.
