The sound of the waves could be heard.

My consciousness gradually began to wake up.

Slowly, I opened my eyes, as if lifting myself out of a swamp.

In front of me, there were three beautiful faces.

“Good morning, Kei.”

“Oh, um, good morning.”

Even though it wasn’t morning.

It seemed I had been asleep for a few minutes.

The sand that had piled up all over my body had been cleared away, and instead, a towel had been placed over me. As I took in the sight of the three girls wearing white T-shirts over their swimsuits, I smiled wryly.

“Sorry… it looks like I fell asleep for a bit.”

“It’s totally fine. You looked cute while sleeping.”

“Kei-kun’s sleeping face is very precious. Definitely worth preserving forever.”

“Okeihan, you’re hungry, right? Let’s have a barbecue, a barbecue!”

We returned to the front of the tent and lit the barbecue grill. I tossed in some charcoal and lit the fire starter, and the charcoal slowly began to glow red. It seemed that Chikage had gone back to the guesthouse to bring the food.

I handed my plate to Sakura and received it back again. Taking a long skewer of meat that barely fit on the plate, I took a big bite. The taste of happiness spread through my mouth. The meat was well-seasoned and very delicious.

The preparations had gone well.

“Yeah, this is amazing. Okeihan’s cooking skills are out of this world.”

“Really, it’s so good.”

“Yeah, it’s delicious… Kei, you could be a great husband.”

“Ah, thank you. There’s still plenty of meat… let’s eat a lot.”

As the four of us ate, we enjoyed casual chatter.

“Hey, how about we have some free time after this?”

Chikage suddenly suggested.

“Since we’re at the beach, wouldn’t it be fun to have Kei all to ourselves?”

“What do you mean by ‘all to ourselves’? Okeihan’s right here.”

“Let’s set a time limit and take turns having beach dates with Kei. Tsukasa and Sakurako, you both want to spend time alone with him too, right?”

Sakura nodded eagerly.

“I agree.”

“Oh, that sounds great.”

Sakura and Tsu-chan seemed excited about the idea.

“Kei-kun, are you okay with that?”

“Sure.”

There was no reason to refuse. A date at the beach was something I’d always dreamed of. I loved spending time with all four of us, but if everyone wanted to do this, I had no reason to oppose it.

“Then it’s decided,” Chikage said, standing up and stretching widely.

“Can I have Kei first? For one hour.”

“Okay. Then I’ll go after Chikage. Is that okay with you, Tsukasa?”

“Hmm, okay.”

“Alright, let’s go, Kei.”

Chikage, having taken off her T-shirt and now in her swimsuit, hugged my arm. Naturally, I felt flustered by her closeness.

The two of them waved at us with smiles. I waved back and walked along the sandy beach with Chikage, holding hands.

“Let’s go to those rocks over there. They make a nice shaded area, and it’s a good spot where people can’t see us.”

Chikage led me forward, walking briskly.

We walked along the water’s edge toward the rocks. Sure enough, it was secluded and felt like a hidden spot. Being in the countryside, there weren’t many locals around either.

We both sat in a hollow in the rock.

Chikage was always proactive, but today she seemed even more so than usual.

Following her request, I let my hand slide from the center of her stomach to her side. Chikage squirmed a bit, ticklish, but she wasn’t rejecting me.

Instead of replying, I pulled Chikage into my arms.

Our warmth mixed, and a sweet, citrus-like scent filled my nose. I could feel Chikage’s heartbeat directly, and my own pulse quickened in response.

“Hey… how about we just go somewhere far away, the two of us?”

She whispered in my ear.

It sounded like she was serious.

It felt like she was expressing a longing to escape somewhere far from here.

“We came on this trip with everyone, so we can’t just leave Tsu-chan and Sakura behind.”

“I know… I was just saying.”

Chikage rested her head on my chest, tightening her embrace. I hugged her back, and for a while, we shared a world of our own, seeking each other’s warmth.
