Chapter 60: Reap What You Sow
“Don’t mess around!! If I do that, I’ll be the one who gets killed!! And you, as well, will end up in trouble with His Majesty the Emperor!! It’s not too late to reconsider now!!”
The person who reacted to my words was a nobleman that seemed to be in his forties.
The guy I dragged off his horse and punched in the face earlier must have been his son or something, and he probably wanted to use this opportunity to make him look good.
Certainly, on the surface, the Kvist ducal family’s eldest son is famous for being a failure. It probably appeared like an easy task to present the useless son who couldn’t even use magic properly to the Emperor.
Any apparent danger would have been some dark organization or something controlling me from behind, considering my arrogant attitude towards His Imperial Majesty, even though it was not true.
That might be why they gathered this many people.
And if this guy couldn’t catch and present me to the Emperor in this mission, he would undoubtedly be killed by that tyrant.
I understand he’s desperate because his life is at stake, but if that’s the case, he should have just fled to another country from the start.
If he had pretended to go after me and then run away, he could have maybe been able to escape the Empire with his family, but at this point, were he to try to, those around him would be suspected of treason and may get killed by His Imperial Highness. Hence, they would be closely watched to ensure they don’t try to escape with all their might.
He brought this upon himself by weighing his immediate gain and the power of being a noble against the lives of himself and his family.
I’m sure no one could have imagined that I had inherited the ability from the game, but that’s just his bad luck. If they had investigated me thoroughly, not just superficially, this would not have happened. Ultimately, it’s his own fault, and I don’t care if someone unrelated to me dies due to their own carelessness.
“Well then, if you have no more business with me, I’ll go back.”
“W-wait!! I’m telling you to wait!! Hey!! Someone catch him!!”
And so, I turned on my heels and returned home.

[Emperor’s POV]
“So, he couldn’t capture Kaisar and tried to escape, but he got caught, is that it?”
“Yes!! That’s correct!!”
