[Liliana’s POV]

“Ugh! Damn it all!!”

I scream silently within as my mind remains clouded since that fateful day. The current state of affairs where I am powerless, coupled with his daily displays of superiority, only fuels the murky emotions inside me.

To make matters worse, I go out of my way to avoid him, fearing his condescending attitude. It only adds to my frustration. It’s a dead-end situation where I find myself angry at my efforts to steer clear of him.

“Liliana-sama, is everything alright? You haven’t been yourself lately, especially since your engagement to Douglas-sama…”

Olivia Gran Hohenzollern, a female knight who serves as both my attendant and bodyguard, looked at me with concern etched on her face.

Whenever she inquires, I attempt to recount the events of that day, only to be reminded of the contract magic he cast, which renders me unable to speak about it. This confirms that what took place was not a mere figment of my imagination but a very real occurrence, where I, a member of the imperial family, was unilaterally subjected to contract magic by him.

“… I’m fine, Olivia. Please don’t worry about me. Thank you, though. Your kindness means a lot.”

I replied, but Olivia still looked doubtful, as if she didn’t quite believe me. I can never hide anything from her, especially when it concerns me. 

This is because her family has served the imperial family for generations, and we have grown up together because of that connection. As a result, she can detect even the slightest changes. 

While it’s usually helpful, it’s a different story when it comes to the recent incident. I want to forget the humiliation of that day as soon as possible and not even think about it, so I wish she would leave me alone.

“I understand. I won’t pry too much since I know there must be a reason you can’t tell me. However, if you ever want to talk about it, please don’t hesitate to confide in me, okay?”

Hearing Olivia’s words of concern, I can’t help but feel grateful that I didn’t allow her to attend that day.
