Chapter 11: Yawning Because It’s Too Slow
“Eh? Sensei? You’re going to kill me? That must be a joke, right?”
I retorted to Shishiru-sensei with a feeling of utter contempt.
After realizing I had reincarnated as a game character, I became determined to make anyone who stood in my way regret it.
I had initially planned to take revenge on my younger brother first, but it seemed that Shishiru-sensei would be the first to feel my wrath.
I couldn’t let her treatment of me slide. I had to retaliate twice as hard if I were to be defeated.
I wanted to crush her belief that those weaker than her wouldn’t fight back, her inflated pride, and her stubbornness in thinking she was always right just because she was strong.
Ah. I couldn’t wait to see the look on Shishiru-sensei’s face when I proved her wrong.
“What? Are you making fun of me? A human like you is making fun of me, an elf? I will never forgive you. Even if you beg for forgiveness, I will never forgive you. I will make you regret insulting me, a true elf, to the depths of your soul, and then I will make you my slave before discarding you.”
She threatened me, turning red with anger.
As expected, her reaction was predictable.
Her power had dulled her thought process, making it easier for me to anticipate her actions. If it had been the usual calm Shishiru-sensei, she would have easily seen through any scheme I might have had.
Looking at Shishiru-sensei in front of me, I couldn’t help but think that it wasn’t surprising for her to think that way. I tended to lose sight of my surroundings and become consumed by anger when someone looked down on me even slightly.
Shishiru-sensei was constructing magic without chanting, but I could sense it was slow binding-type magic. It was so sluggish that it made me feel like yawning, even though she did it chantless.
I could use a counterspell to prevent, cancel the magic, or even reflect since it was so slow.
In PvP games, reflecting an opponent’s magic after confirming it was a challenging skill. The fact that I had enough time to think about which magic to use showed how long Shishiru-sensei’s casting time was.
However, only Shishiru-sensei herself was unaware of this.
