I Was Unreasonably Dumped By My Girlfriend And Had My Heart Broken. When I Rescued A Beautiful Girl Who Was My Former Classmate And Idol In My Class From A Group Of Yarisa, My Gray College Life Started To Shine - Chapter 7
Episode 7: Registering for Courses Together
“Alright, it’s my turn to repay the favor now. Let’s decide on our courses together.”
“…Huh, what do you mean, me and you?”
“Who else do you think I’ve been talking to? There’s no one else, right?”
Aoba grabbed my sleeve and pulled me along to an empty seat.
On the way, she waved cheerfully to a group of girls from the Department of Sociology in the Literature Faculty.
It seems like she already has plenty of friends.
She’s truly a communication wizard.
She’s probably quite popular within the department.
“Shouldn’t you decide with those people instead?”
“It’s okay, it’s okay. Well, if Nogami-kun wants to join that group, I guess we could do it together?”
I didn’t understand why it was assumed that we would do this together, but for now, I reluctantly turned my attention to the cheerful conversation between her and the others.
Almost involuntarily, my cheeks twitched.
I should have gotten used to interacting with girls throughout high school.
But maybe because of the major event of being rejected by Asuka, I felt awkward again.
If I were surrounded by unfamiliar college girls like this, I would probably just stand there like a statue without saying a word.
“It’s impossible, right? Then, it’s better for you to decide on courses with me here quietly.”
“…I’m fine by myself.”
“Okay, okay, Nogami-kun, calm down! I have something special for you. It’s my secret weapon that you’ll agree with right away.”
With a proud expression, she took out a booklet from her thin bag, barely able to fit a few books. On the cover of the booklet was written “Rakutan!”.
“Are you feeling down?”
“No, it’s not that! No negative thinking allowed! This is a list of ‘easy units,’ not about failing units. In other words, it’s a list of easy courses to get credits for. I got it from a club member yesterday.”
“…Hey, isn’t that…”
“Haha, well, yeah, from that club. But it seems like they distribute this booklet. Even students from other clubs have it.”
As she spoke, Aoba opened the booklet.
As I tried to peek at its contents with some skepticism, she suddenly stood up and raised it high.
“From here on, it’s an exclusive preview for those who will decide on courses with me. So, what will you do, Nogami-kun? You want this information, don’t you?”
With a smirk, she raised her voice, showing her white teeth.
Her brown eyes looking down on me seemed to be sure of victory. She seemed to think it was only natural for me to agree.
However, I was prepared to counterattack.
“It’s embarrassing if you stand out too much, so please sit down.”
“Eh…! Ah, hahaha.”
Her beauty, her innate brightness and cheerfulness, already attracted people.
If such a girl were to perform a childish action like lifting up a book, it would surely draw attention.
Men cast curious glances at her, and girls looked at her with puzzled eyes.
Aoba chuckled and slowly lowered her arm, then returned to her seat.
“Geez, I made a fool of myself.”
She muttered a small complaint, audible only to me.
“Aoba-san did everything by herself.”
“That’s true… that’s true. It would have been better if no one hadn’t noticed, honestly. Anyway, will you take responsibility and help me with the course consultation? It’s fine, right? It’ll also help out Nogami-kun, who’s all alone at the beginning of school.”
Puckering her small, thin lips, she pressed on.
What a cunning move.
If a super-class beauty like her gives you a moist-eyed look, you have no choice but to agree. That’s how men are, probably.
“It’s too early to be labeled as ‘alone.'”
In the end, although I surrendered, I started registering for courses with Aoba.
