I Was Unreasonably Dumped By My Girlfriend And Had My Heart Broken. When I Rescued A Beautiful Girl Who Was My Former Classmate And Idol In My Class From A Group Of Yarisa, My Gray College Life Started To Shine - Chapter 36
Episode 36: Why Did You Come?
I was struck by a sensation that made the hairs on my back stand on end.
I looked and saw Imazato-san leaning forward towards me, with her hand on my ear.
She whispered so that only I could hear.
I instinctively moved away from her.
After making sure that no porridge spilled from the spoon, I looked at Imazato-san’s face. One corner of her mouth was slightly lifted.
What is this young lady trying to say?
What could her intention possibly be… I pondered for a moment, but realized it was pointless.
Seira Imazato’s thought process is complex and mysterious.
So there’s no point in trying to figure it out, and she probably doesn’t have any ulterior motives. It’s probably just something like “I just wanted to say it.”
“…No, it’s nothing. Here.”
Deciding not to dwell on it, I brought the spoon close to Aoba again.
Then she flinched slightly, saying, “It’s hot”.
“Sorry, you’re right. Let me cool it down.”
I blew on the spoon.
Suddenly feeling a gaze, I looked and saw Imazato-san smiling again. She seemed like she might say “lewd” again.
…But if I let it bother me, I’ll lose.
Ignoring Imazato-san, I carefully fed Aoba with the spoon.
“…Delicious.”
After chewing for a bit, she weakly expressed her opinion.
“That’s good to hear. Can you swallow it?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. It’s a bit sticky, so it goes down smoothly.”
Even the sticky porridge received unexpected high praise. Imazato-san looked pleased as well.
From there, it was a repeat of the process. As we got more used to it, there were no more odd remarks from Imazato-san.
Once Aoba finished what she could eat, she took her medicine.
As she swallowed it, I breathed a sigh of relief.
Now, her fever should go down for the time being.
I put the dishes on the nearby desk and asked.
“Was it because you went into that river?”
“…Probably. I can’t think of any other reason. I’m surprised I caught a cold from something like that. It’s quite tough to have a fever all by myself.”
Aoba said, coughing a bit.
“You don’t have to say anything more.”
“Please rest.”
We both said, but Aoba continued with her hoarse voice.
“But I’m really glad you two came. Thank you. I was surprised that both Nogami-kun and Seira-chan came too.”
“…Surprised? Why?”
“I’m really happy that you came. However, we’ve only had lunch together once…”
I glanced at Imazato-san in response to Aoba’s words.
Certainly, that was something I was curious about too.
She said she wanted to arrange a taxi just to come visit me. The reason I was surprised was also there.
It’s understandable if she’s a close friend, but we’ve only just met recently.
Then she closed her eyes for a moment. She seemed to grip the hem of her dress and lowered her face to the floor, hiding her expression with her long hair.
“You both talked to me.”
“Is that all?”
“That alone meant a lot to me. For some reason, I’ve always been avoided by people. I wasn’t invited to join any clubs, didn’t make any friends even when I went to class, and I’ve been alone since coming to college. So, when you invited me, I was happy. I thought we could be friends. So…”
Imaizumi fell silent after saying that.
Aoba reached out her hand to her shoulder.
“Seira-chan, I consider you a friend too. Thank you for coming today.”
Imazato-san suddenly looked up. There was a faint blush on her cheeks. It seemed she was embarrassed.
I watched with a grin.
There’s nothing particularly special about it. I didn’t see any potential for a yuri relationship.
It was just a little payback from earlier.
Imazato-san noticed my gaze and closed her eyes.
She pretended to be calm, sighing lightly.
But, perhaps because her well-polished porcelain-like skin was so pale, the blush on her cheeks became more and more noticeable. Her whole face turned red, even her earlobes.
“Oh, could it be that you have a fever? Did I infect you?”
“…There’s no way it could spread that quickly.”
It was a moment of seeing a new side of her, during that time of visiting.
