I squatted a little, stabilizing myself, and looked towards Aoba.

Most of her pants were soaked in the river, but her hand was just barely out of reach of the kitten.

After Aoba placed the rescued kitten on the riverbank, I wrapped it in a towel.

I had brought it along to wipe off sweat.

Sitting in a triangle formation, Aoba and I shared a towel on our laps.

But Aoba was wetter than me. She might catch a cold like this.

I took off my shirt and draped it over her shoulders.

It should be fine since it’s not directly against her skin.
