I Was Unreasonably Dumped By My Girlfriend And Had My Heart Broken. When I Rescued A Beautiful Girl Who Was My Former Classmate And Idol In My Class From A Group Of Yarisa, My Gray College Life Started To Shine - Chapter 18
Episode 18: The Hellish Situation of My Ex’s Social Media
The afternoon classes were separate for Aoba and Imazato-san.
Taking a selective course alone (this time, quite seriously), I welcomed the evening.
Since the class ended a bit early, I sat on a bench in front of the library, waiting to meet Aoba again.
To put it bluntly, I was bored.
While idly watching the passersby, my phone vibrated lightly.
“Kei-chan. Did you break up with Umeno-san?”
It was a message from a high school classmate.
I hadn’t told anyone about breaking up with Asuka. If this information was circulating, it must have been from her.
“Well, yeah, we broke up. She dumped me.”
I replied briefly.
I didn’t mention being dumped on the first day of school or falling for a handsome guy. It’s best not to dwell on those unnecessary details.
It just makes me feel pathetic.
“Kei-chan, did you really cheat?”
“Why would you think that? I didn’t do anything.”
“Yeah, I don’t think you would. Then why are you being suspected, Kei?”
“No idea, maybe because of Umeno’s social media. Seems like something big is happening.”
What could it be?
I wondered as I opened the social media app. The timeline was filled with similar posts.
Things like parties, cherry blossom viewing, and group dates.
Many of my high school and middle school classmates were uploading glamorous photos typical of university students.
While skimming through them, I checked the list of followers.
And there, I found Asuka’s account. The icon was blacked out, and the name was just spaces, but I remembered the ID.
While the messaging app had been blocked since then, perhaps because I rarely updated my SNS, I hadn’t been blocked there.
“Why is this happening…?”
It’s strange. If I, the one who was dumped, ended up like this, shouldn’t she be enjoying her new boyfriend and her fun university life?
In fact, she should be the one posting those sparkling posts I saw earlier.
So why has her account turned into this?
Without noticing any notifications on the messaging app, I clicked on Asuka’s icon and looked at her SNS page.
There, she was just venting her frustrations.
“Unbelievable,” “So awful,” “It’s infuriating.”
Just from the words, a negative aura emanated.
“Bringing other girls’ home, what a jerk. Guys like that should perish.”
From the content, it seemed like she was angry about being played with. Judging by that, the guy she was talking to so friendly in the classroom earlier might be the one.
Asuka kept the guy’s name hidden.
Seeing that, her friends thought I had cheated.
“At least it wasn’t me. This is after we broke up.”
I replied to him like that and looked through Asuka’s posts again.
It was like a trash heap.
In just one or two days, there were several posts about being hurt and in pain.
Well, Asuka does have a side where her emotions fluctuate dramatically.
When we first started dating, she was deeply depressed because she was dumped by an older boyfriend, and as a result of comforting her as a friend, I ended up confessing to her and we started dating.
Even during our relationship, she often became emotional.
Every time, I patiently comforted her…
But now, I can’t talk to her.
So I just gaze at her posts. And just as I was starting to feel down because of it…
“Whoa!!!”
“Whoa!?”
That negative flow was suddenly interrupted by a sudden tap on the shoulder.
Startled, I turned around, and Aoba was grinning from ear to ear.
“You were totally engrossed in your phone, Nogami-kun. But you didn’t reply to my message?”
“You sent something?”
“Yeah, I did. Like, five times in the last five minutes.”
Come to think of it, my phone had been vibrating several times.
When I opened it, there were messages like “Almost there~,” “Just a little longer~,” “Nogami-kun’s back of the head!” and so on, like a live broadcast.
The last one even had a photo attached.
“Don’t sneakily take photos.”
“It’s your fault for not noticing~. So, did your class end early?”
“Yeah. About 20 minutes early because of the teacher’s schedule.”
“Lucky you. Mine was actually extended. There’s this really passionate teacher who’s always talking like this.”
Aoba said, furrowing her brow and tightening her lips, creating a stern face.
For a pretty girl, it’s an unhesitant funny face performance. Honestly, it’s still cute.
“So then~”
With even an impersonation thrown in, I couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
As I laughed, Aoba grinned satisfactorily, flashing her teeth.
“Alright, your good smile is back! Nice joke by me. Anyway, let’s go to the club!”
In response, I nodded while putting away my phone.
I was on the receiving end of Asuka’s accusations, but it’s not like I could do anything about it.
I still can’t completely ignore it, but at least it’s pointless to worry about it.
I’m not her boyfriend anymore. I’m just a former classmate.
It’s a story that has nothing to do with me anyway.
“Yeah. Can’t be late on the first day.”
“That’s right! It’s okay to be late for orientation, but don’t be late for the club meeting♪”
“That joke is a bit overdone.”
