Chapter 2: A-Rank (LOL) Seeker and the S-Rank Supporter

It was also something I didn’t have. Without one, a Seeker couldn’t deal effective damage to monsters. No matter how much the world changed, without one, a Seeker… Couldn’t exist.

“【Dragon Chains】.”

I activated the magic that produced chains from my hands. The chains coiled around the minotaur, and I pulled them tight to bind it.

“FOOOOOOOHHHHHHH!!”

The minotaur thrashed, struggling to break free, but it was in vain. My strength was greater. Through strengthening technique, which converted magic power into combat power and circulated it through my body, my physical abilities were boosted. Mia unleashed a lightning strike on the defenseless minotaur, incinerating it. After it vanished, a magic stone appeared. My right sleeve hung limp. I grasped the empty fabric with my left hand. I had no right arm. I didn’t have the power to fight monsters alone like she did. She was right. I was useless. I couldn’t say anything back.

“No C-rank Seeker would ever want you as a partner. Do you even understand how lucky you are to be paired with me, an A-rank!? Huh!?”

“…I appreciate it. Thanks to you, I can earn a normal income.”

“As long as you understand. Now, repeat after me! ‘I can’t do anything on my own. Mia-san always helps me.’ Go on!”

How humiliating. But if I defied her here… I’d be out on the streets. I couldn’t go against her.

“Good.”

I bit my lip and prepared two transfer crystals. Transfer Crystals were expensive… and I had to buy both of ours. She never contributed to item costs. My wallet was suffering. But I had to endure it. I couldn’t let my pride cost me my livelihood.
