- I Was Stranded on a Deserted Island with a Beautiful Classmate
- Chapter 86 - A Deadly Fight, Combating, and a Miracle Shot
“What are you planning to do with us?!”
“Isn’t it obvious? Hayasaka, you’re dead. I’m taking the girl and the treasure.”
Tanaka sneered and aimed his Desert Eagle at us. His eyes…he was dead serious.
I braced myself as Tanaka pulled the trigger.
But I had already begun dodging.
Thanks to that, I managed to avoid the bullet. A hit from that would’ve been instant death.
Now it was my turn. I countered with my Uzi.
They panicked and hid behind the rocks. I took cover, too.
“…! I didn’t sign up for this!”
“Are you okay, Amane?”
“I…I’m scared.”
Amane was trembling, crouched down. I needed to protect her.
“Kaede, do you have a weapon?”
“I still have the King Cobra. I’ll fight back with this.”
“Understood. They’re about thirty meters away.”
“In that case, I’ll be the decoy. Hayasaka, could you take them out?”
“No way. I can’t let you put yourself in such danger, Kaede.”
“I’ll be fine. Kizuna and I have been through a lot of survival games together.”
“This isn’t a game, Kaede…”
“Trust me.”
With that confident look in her eyes, I knew I could believe in her. Kaede could handle it.
“Amane, if it comes down to it, back up Kaede.”
“…O-Okay.”
“You’ve learned how to shoot, right?”
“Yeah, Kitakami taught me.”
Then we should be fine.
If we don’t survive this, we’ll never make it out with the treasure. I’m dead serious. I’ll do what it takes to eliminate anyone who stands in our way.
“Let’s go, Hayasaka. Amane.”
Amane and I nodded. Three…two…one…Go!
Kaede went out first as the decoy. Immediately, Tanaka and Akira, hiding behind the rocks, showed themselves and aimed at her.
“Fool! Walking right into this alone!”
“Well, look at that…it’s a girl. Go for her legs!”
I see. So they think they can spare her life because she’s a woman. That’s their mistake.
I switched from the Uzi to the King Cobra and took aim.
My first target was Tanaka’s heart.
“–Damn! Gaaah!”
Tanaka tried to dodge but got hit in the arm. I aimed next at Akira’s stomach. The body shot should be more accurate than a headshot.
Bang! Bang!
Two direct hits.
“Ugh! …Damn it!”
The guy staggered but stayed standing. He’s wearing a bulletproof vest!
“Damn…”
“Hahaha…Of course, I’ve got protection! Hayasaka, this is where you meet your end!”
Akira raised a Five-Seven at me. That’s the same gun I borrowed from Kitakami…so he must have stolen it.
I needed to fire first—but nothing came out when I pulled the trigger.
Out of ammo?!
“Damn it…!”
“Hayasaka, don’t tell me you’re out of bullets! Too bad! Die!”
The laser sight flickered on my forehead. Crap, he’s aiming for a headshot…Since when did that Five-Seven have a laser sight?
“Not happening!”
Amane rolled out from cover, crouched, aimed her King Cobra, and fired.
The bullet hit Akira’s knee, sending him tumbling down. Nice shot, Amane!
“You saved me!”
“I’m so glad I could help you, Hayasaka.”
“But it’s not over yet. Tanaka’s still standing.”
Despite his arm wound, Tanaka raised his gun again. Was he numb to pain? Or is he on some kind of painkiller? Whatever the reason, he’s relentless.
This time, I’d finish him off for good.
I would riddle him with bullets from the Uzi.
“Damn it! If I’m going down, I’m taking you with me! Look at this!”
Tanaka’s coat was packed with grenades. If one of those had been hit, we would’ve been blown up. How did he even get that many grenades?
“Stop with the foolishness!”
“If I’m dying, then we’re all going down together! That way, I won’t be alone!”
“He’s insane…”
What should I do? If I use the Uzi, the scattered bullets might set off the grenades. I’d need something more accurate, like a sniper rifle.
…Wait.
At my feet lay the Five-Seven. Right, it has a laser sight.
With that, I could shoot Tanaka square in the head.
“Hold on, Hayasaka! Make any sudden moves, and we all go boom!”
“Understood. Kaede…Plan B.”
“Roger, Plan B.”
“What?! What’s Plan B?!”
Tanaka looked confused. But “Plan B” was just a bluff, something Kaede went along with on the fly.
Kaede swiftly pointed her gun at Tanaka.
“Don’t move, Tanaka!”
“Damn it! Are you okay with an explosion?!”
Now’s my chance. I picked up the Five-Seven, crouched low, and lined up the laser sight on Tanaka’s forehead.
“This is it!”
“Wait, wait! Killing me gains you nothing! Stop, please! I don’t want to die!”
I pulled the trigger.
To be honest, I didn’t want to kill a classmate. But they came after us, ready to kill. Those who shoot should be prepared to be shot.
This was a deadly fight for the treasure.
So—
“Take this!”
The Five-Seven fired.
In less than a blink, the bullet struck Tanaka right in the forehead.
“…Ugh…”
Tanaka’s body fell backward.
With a sickening crunch, he was dead.
…Whew. It was finally over.
I couldn’t believe the Five-Seven ended up saving me.
“Hayasaka! I’m so glad you’re okay!”
Amane threw her arms around me, crying her heart out. I hugged her tightly. We were alive…That’s what mattered. Then Kaede hugged me, too.
“That was close…We almost didn’t make it.”
“Thank you, Kaede. If it weren’t for you, I’d be dead.”
“We got through it because we all worked together. I wouldn’t have found the courage otherwise.”
Now, Akira should still be alive. We’ll get whatever information we can out of him…and then he’ll be dealt with.
