- I Was Stranded on a Deserted Island with a Beautiful Classmate
- Chapter 67 - Six People Are Selected to Head back to the Deserted Island
An hour had passed since then.
The intercom kept ringing nonstop.
Chitose, Momose, Hokkii, Riko, Ooi, Ootsuka, Kotobuki, and Kusamochi had arrived.
Everyone was dressed casually, which was refreshing. On the deserted island, we only had uniforms or tracksuits.
It reminded me of what things were like just a month ago.
Again, I was the only guy here…and there were ten girls. Quite a crowd.
Good thing the living room was spacious. Even with more than ten people, there was plenty of room—it almost felt like we were getting ready for a party.
“Long time no see, Hayasaka-kun.”
“Hey, Chitose. You look even cuter today.”
“What—cute, out of nowhere…you’re making me blush.”
Chitose’s face turned red with embarrassment; she really was adorable. And everyone was dressed up. Girls just look so striking in cute outfits—you could watch them from afar without getting bored.
Amane and Kitakami made tea, and with that, everything was set.
“…Now, all that’s left is the online group—Yaegashi-san, Sasayama-san, and Nomo-san.”
“Yeah. I’ve got a laptop ready, so I’ll connect them now.”
Amane placed the laptop on the table. She had already set everything up, so everyone could join in.
A moment later, the three of them connected online.
Yaegashi appeared to be lying down on a hospital bed.
“Hey, Yaegashi-san. How’s your health?”
“Eh…not so great. Maybe it’s stress, too.”
She might have developed PTSD. After such a huge incident, it wouldn’t be surprising for some of the girls to be left with mental scars.
Unexpectedly, Yaegashi was one of them.
“Don’t push yourself.”
“Yeah, I’ll be fine.”
“Alright, then, I’ll get to the point.”
I explained the plan to everyone about going back to the “deserted island” to retrieve the treasure.
The plan was as follows:
The team going to the location would have five to six people.
All equipment and food would be perfectly prepared.
A support team on the mainland would be formed.
Any treasure found would be equally divided among us.
It was simple. We’d stay for one week; staying any longer would be dangerous.
“Wait a minute.”
“What’s up, Riko?”
“Right now, that island…the coast guard is reportedly monitoring it regularly. I read online that we’d be arrested if caught.”
“For real? I didn’t think of that risk.”
Still, despite that risk, it would be worth it if we found the treasure. Finding it would make us rich.
I knew where the treasure was supposed to be. Though, I wasn’t certain about what was actually inside.
“It’s worth a shot. We won’t know if there’s anything there until we open it, but if we do find something, everyone will be happy. And if there’s nothing, we’ll just deal with it then.”
“I agree with Ai-chan.”
Momose backed her up. Now, it was up to everyone else.
“Let’s vote. Those in favor, raise your hand.”
Everyone raised their hand.
I had a feeling it would go this way.
That meant I had to return to that island again. Well, that’s fine—this time, we’d be well-equipped.
And we’d have direct communication with the mainland team, so it would be a world of difference from last time.
“So, who exactly is going?”
“Good question, Ootsuka-san. I’m thinking it’ll be me, Amane-san, Kitakami-san, Ooi-san, Kotobuki-san, and Kusamochi-san—a total of six.”
Kotobuki and Kusamochi seemed surprised.
“W-Wait! You’re taking me?”
“Kotobuki-san, you’re a survival game buddy of Kitakami’s. You’d be a reliable choice.”
“Just because of that!? Ugh, fine, I guess.”
Is she really okay with it? She doesn’t seem too thrilled, but she should have some survival skills, even if it’s just with airsoft guns.
“As for why I picked Kusamochi-san…”
“Why me?”
“Well, I figured you were no ordinary person.”
She had once fought Kitakami for a bit, and her strength was no joke. That’s why I chose her.
“I’ve trained in martial arts through a correspondence course.”
“And you’re that strong? That’s impressive.”
“It’s no big deal. I’m just average.”
Average…She can match Kitakami with correspondence course martial arts? What kind of training is that? I’m curious now!
“Alright, so we’re set with the field team. The rest will gather information on the mainland and keep in contact with us. Yaegashi-san, think you could be the leader?”
“Unfortunately, in my condition…I’d like Riko to handle it.”
At being named, Riko paled.
“M-Me? No way…I’m not the leader type!”
“You’ll do fine, Riko.”
“But…”
“I’d really appreciate it if you could take my place.”
“Okay, I’ll do it, Chitose-chan.”
And that’s decided. Riko will be the leader on the mainland.
“Riko, there’s a ‘Stargazer’ communication system left behind by Tachikawa on the deserted island. With that, we can use the internet, so we’ll be able to stay in touch.”
“That’s the latest satellite system from StraCorp, right? That’s amazing.”
“You’re pretty knowledgeable, Riko.”
“I’m into gadgets and stuff.”
A bit unusual for a girl, but…alright.
With that, everything was settled.
“Everyone, feel free to make yourselves at home.”
Amane provided everyone with a laptop. As expected of her, she even handed out dedicated phones for communication and secured the line. Now the mainland team was all set.
“Riko, use the online conference to keep in touch. Also, we’ll send location information continuously.”
“I’m monitoring everyone’s positions and vitals with the latest GPS. I’ll be working closely with Chitose-chan and Hokkii.”
“Got it. I’m counting on you, Riko.”
With preparations complete, we’ll depart tomorrow.
