- I Was Stranded on a Deserted Island with a Beautiful Classmate
- Chapter 65 - More Than Friends, But Less Than Lovers
Because of the recent incident, my whole family decided to move away. I’ve been left behind with just a phone.
“Figure it out on your own,” they told me.
What a heartless family! It’s just depressing!
Now, completely alone, I’ve been staying at Amane’s place.
“Sorry for crashing here every day.”
“It’s fine! My dad’s pretty easygoing.”
Amane says this cheerfully, taking my hand. Apparently, her dad’s the president of a large company and owns a lot of apartments and properties. Pretty impressive.
We’re currently living together in one of her dad’s vacant apartments with Kitakami.
Oh, right. Kitakami has her own reasons for not being able to return home, though she won’t tell us what they are.
But as long as these two are here, I feel like I can survive anything—even the end of the world.
“Lucky for us, Amane happens to be a rich girl,” Kitakami remarks while sipping tea. Ever since we got back to Honshu, things have been going well between her and Amane. I wonder what happened.
“By the way, Kitakami, you really can’t go home?”
“Yeah. It looks like I’m under suspicion of violating the Firearm and Sword Control Law.”
“Huh? Why?”
“Most of the firearms used on the deserted island were confiscated by the police, but a few went missing. And now, as someone who’s into airsoft, I’m under suspicion.”
I thought all dangerous items were removed, but some of them are still missing? It’s strange that they’re suspecting Kitakami.
We only used them for self-defense. There was no other choice.
I left the gun in the capsized boat. That should have been all of them.
Did someone take them later…?
“Hey, Kitakami. Could this be why you came up with this plan? To clear your name?”
“That’s part of it, Akira. I also think someone might still be on the island.”
Someone is out there…? Could this mystery person have stolen the gun from the boat, wandering around even now, seeking the treasure? A survivor, perhaps?
If that’s the case, they might find the treasure before we do. We need to secure it first.
“Alright, I’ll think it over.”
“Please do, but no pressure.”
“I owe you my life more than once, Kitakami, so I’ll seriously consider it.”
“Thank you. Well, Amane, I’ll use the bath now.”
Kitakami turns and heads to the bathroom. Everything we need is in this apartment.
We have electricity, internet, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, an air purifier, and even a microwave and kettle.
It’s incredibly comfortable. I’m truly grateful for modern conveniences.
“Hey, Hayasaka?”
“Hm? What’s up, Amane?”
“Listen…do we really need to go back to the deserted island? Can’t we just live here in the apartment?”
“Yeah, I mean, this life isn’t bad. But it must be a burden on you, Amane.”
“Not at all. I want to stay with you, Hayasaka. I’m happy to support you.”
“Seriously? You know that makes me a freeloader, right?”
“I don’t mind. I love working hard, so it’s fine. If we have kids, you can take care of them. Of course, I’ll help, too.”
K-kids…?
The thought makes my heart explode a little. Amane is really imagining a future with me?
Maybe, at this moment, I’m the luckiest guy in the world. Surely, I’d rank in the top ten happiest men alive.
“That’s one way to be happy, huh?”
“Right? Hey, Hayasaka…I really want to kiss you right now.”
Amane leans in, her voice soft. Ever since our relationship crossed the line between friendship and something more, she’s asked for kisses.
I, too, am probably dependent on her. Or rather, maybe I still am.
Not wanting to ruin this relationship, I oblige when she asks for a kiss.
…
Three minutes…five…ten…I lost track of time, lost in a sweet moment of shared affection.
—
Amane’s apartment has four rooms. It’s a spacious, luxurious place meant for wealthy tenants, costing easily in the six-figure range.
Not only am I living here for free, but I even have my own room.
I lie back on the bed, relaxing by myself.
Ping!
My phone buzzes with a LINE message. It’s from Kitakami.
[Kitakami: Let’s find the treasure, then get married.]
Wha—? That came out of nowhere. And she attached a photo of her cleavage, trying to tempt me! As if that would work—oh…oh no.
Not bad…But that’s dangerous.
If I let a suggestive photo sway me, I’d be making a life decision without any thought.
I want to choose for myself.
So I reply:
[Hayasaka: I saved the photo, but I’m still thinking about the island.]
Before long, she replies:
[Kitakami: You saved it? Well, that’s equivalent to a marriage certificate. By saving it, you’re now considered married to me.]
That’s ridiculous! I’ve never heard of a wedding triggered by saving a cleavage pic!
City Hall would be shocked by this kind of marriage certificate!
[Hayasaka: Save your jokes for bedtime. Catch you later.]
After that, her messages only showed as “read.” Kitakami is relentless in trying to win me over.
—
I’m exhausted. Time to sleep.
As soon as I crawl into bed, I feel sleep coming over me.
The next morning, I woke up feeling heavy.
Wait, what’s going on? My right hand, left hand—both are pinned down. I can’t move my legs either. I can only move my face.
Wh-what…?
Trying to sit up, I brush against something soft. Looking down, I see Amane and Kitakami snuggled up in my bed.
“Whoa!”
To think both of them sneaked into my bed! My heart almost leapt out of my chest.
And they’re in light clothing, showing lots of skin…
Seriously, each of us has our own room. Why’d they sneak into mine?
But, you know what? If this life could go on forever…I’d be okay with that.
I was thinking that when my phone started buzzing with messages.
[Chitose: …What should we do next?]
[Momose: I’m getting chased by the media—help!]
[Yaegashi: I’m hospitalized, but I’m running out of money…]
[Hoshubana: I’m struggling without my job.]
[Higanbana: I’m broke. Might have to try sugar dating.]
[Sasayama: I’m holed up indoors…bored.]
[Nomo: Want to go treasure hunting?]
[Kotobuki: Is there any space at your place, Hayasaka?]
[Kusamochi: I need to talk soon…]
Looks like things just got really intense!
