- I Was Stranded on a Deserted Island with a Beautiful Classmate
- Chapter 48 - Escape From the Storm!! Search for the Small Cruiser
Upon closer inspection, only Kubo’s arm was moving.
He was on the verge of death, barely clinging to life. Considering his severe injuries, it was a miracle he was still alive.
“K…Kurashima…I’ll kill you…for my father,” he whispered.
“Gaah…Kubo, you…” Kurashima growled.
“Even though he was like that…he was still my father…”
With that, Kubo finally passed away, taking his last breath.
Kurashima had only been shot in the leg. I’ll finish him off myself.
I aimed my Desert Eagle at him.
“Hayasaka…are you going to kill me?” Kurashima pleaded.
“You’ve come back over and over again, getting in our way every time. You’re a useless piece of scum,” I replied.
“If you kill me now, you’ll become a murderer!”
“Maybe. But I’m doing this to protect someone precious to me. There’s something more important than treasure. For that, I’ll kill you.”
I pointed the barrel of my gun at Kurashima’s head and began to pull the trigger slowly.
“Please, no! Stop! Don’t kill meeeee!!!”
Kurashima wailed pathetically.
I stayed calm and continued pulling the trigger—
“Bang!!”
“Aaahhhhhhhhh!!!”
“Just kidding.”
I had only made a shooting sound with my voice.
Kurashima, thinking he had been shot, rolled his eyes back and wet himself. His body trembled as he convulsed pitifully. It was a pathetic sight.
“Ugh, that’s the worst!” Mana said.
“Yeah, this is…a bit much,” Kitakami added.
Even they were taken aback by it.
Besides, Kurashima had already lost too much blood from his leg. His face was turning pale. He didn’t have much time left.
“Let’s go, Mana, Kitakami. Kurashima Is going to die from blood loss soon. We’ll just collect the weapon and cover this place up.”
Blood continued to gush from Kurashima as he collapsed sideways, foam forming at his mouth. It was too late for him.

We went back and explained the situation to everyone.
“What…Tachikawa was there!?”
“What? Kubo’s dead?”
“Kurashima was still alive!? Is he a zombie or what?”
“The mercenary guy is dead too?”
“What the heck happened in that cave while we were gone!?”
“This is insane!”
Everyone was in an uproar. Well, of course, they’d be shocked. Four people died in less than an hour.
I still couldn’t believe it either.
A chain of betrayals, and people killed by stray bullets. Thinking about it felt like hell.
“Anyway, we’ve secured a boat. Let’s board it and get off this island before the storm hits,” I proposed.
Momose raised her hand.
“Can we fit everyone?”
Good point…
There were twelve of us: me, Mana, Kitakami, Chitose, Yaegashi, Hokkii, Riko, Ooi, Nomo, Sasayama, Ootsuka, and Momose.
“Hmm, it depends on the boat. Ooi, can you tell us what kind of boat it was?” Kitakami asked.
Now that I think about it, it might be the first time I’ve seen the two of them talk.
“It was a small cruiser, I think. Kitakami, do you know how many people can fit on one?” Ooi replied.
“For a small cruiser, up to twenty people can board.”
Kitakami’s response drew a cheer of “Ohhh!” from the group. But I still had one concern.
“Wait a second. Does anyone know how to drive the boat? Does anyone have a boat license?”
…No one responded. Even Kitakami was at a loss—no, not quite.
“I can drive both boats and helicopters.”
“What!? If that’s true, we can escape. You’re amazing, Kitakami!”
“My father taught me a lot,” she explained.
Alright, we can finally escape from this deserted island.
I went outside to check on the weather.
Hmm…it’s terrible.
The rain clouds were right above us, and the rain was getting heavier. Thunder rumbled in the distance. This weather was far from ideal.
We might even capsize at this rate.
It reminded me of that first day.
That day was also a terrible storm.
“…Maybe we should cancel the launch.”
“But if we miss this chance, the boat might drift away,” Kitakami pointed out.
She was right. If we miss this opportunity, we may never get off this island. A little risk…might be necessary.
“Everyone, let’s go find the boat! It’s probably not on the beach but in the opposite direction. It’s near the area where Ooi and the others were. They kept coming from the opposite side.”
Everyone looked anxious. Understandable, we were about to attempt something reckless. There was a real chance we’d all get swept away again.
But—still.
“I agree. Hayasaka-kun has always led us. That’s why I trust him,” Mana said.
“Mana…”
Following her lead, Kitakami also spoke up.
“I’ll go too. I can’t get excited unless I’m with you.”
With Kitakami’s words, Chitose and the others voiced their agreement, and soon everyone was on board.
“Alright. It’s decided. We’re heading to the place where Ooi and the others were. Ooi, can you guide us?”
“Of course. There’s even a shelter there, so don’t worry.”
Apparently, they had dug something like a trench when they were living in tents. In case of emergency, we could hide there.
We packed up our things. I stuffed as much as I could into my school bag, and we set off into the rain.
…Goodbye, base. We probably won’t be coming back.
As we entered the forest, the storm hit us full force. The wind was intense. Was this a typhoon or what?
“This is brutal,” Chitose groaned.
“Are you okay, Chitose? I’ll support you,” I offered.
“Thank you, Hayasaka-kun. You’re a big help.”
I put my arm around Chitose’s shoulder.
In the past, I couldn’t have done this. Girls would’ve rejected me immediately. But things are different now. There’s trust between us.
Chitose leaned on me for support.
“Hayasaka-kun, I want to…”
“Mana too? Alright, but aren’t you being a bit clingy?”
“That’s not it!! I’m not being clingy! You’re such a dummy…”
Mana turned away with a pout, her face bright red. But her body didn’t lie—she reached out and held my hand.
So, she wanted support after all.
What a helpless girl.
“Alright, I’ll support you too, Mana.”
“W-Well, that’s fine then!”
But Chitose pressed closer to me. Wait—this is getting too bold!
“No, Mana, I’m sorry, but I had a prior arrangement with Chitose.”
To think the usually quiet Chitose would be this assertive…how unusual.
“What? Why not just share Hayasaka-kun with me, Chitose?”
“Wait, Mana. Don’t talk about me like I’m a snack…”
Being split in two is not something I want. I remembered how Mana and Kitakami once fought over me. That’s now just a fond memory…
After walking for about twenty minutes, we finally reached Ooi’s former base. Could the small cruiser really be here?
