Chapter 45: The Student Council President
“Then, you go in first, Hayasaka-kun.”
“O-okay.”
Should I go first? Well, I guess it doesn’t matter either way. Either way, it doesn’t change the fact that I’m going in.
Still, it’s nerve-wracking.
She’s not someone I know that well yet. But she is the gorgeous Ooi-san, with huge breasts.
Just thinking about those breasts makes my heart race like crazy. I wonder if I can handle this.
With my heart pounding, I stepped onto the platform and lowered my feet into the drum bath.
“Oh, this is good. The heat seems just right.”
“Really? I can’t wait.”
“Yeah, I’ll go in first.”
I slowly immersed myself, feet and then waist, into the water. Ah, it feels nice. It’s a little hot, but it’s just perfect. It feels like my fatigue is melting away.
“Excuse me, I’ll be joining you.”
“O-okay. Let me help. It’s hard to step in, right?”
“Yeah…but don’t look too much, it’s embarrassing.”
Ooi had wrapped a towel around her body, which she must have borrowed from a washed-up school bag. That made me feel a bit more at ease. Although, I guess it’s not that different from being naked.
I averted my eyes as much as possible and helped her in. It was the first time I’d had physical contact with a girl other than Amane or Kitakami.
I held her hand and gently guided her into the bath.
“Now, just slowly lower yourself in.”
“Thanks. You’re pretty good at this, Hayasaka-kun.”
“R-really? I think it’s just normal.”
“No, you’re definitely used to handling girls, aren’t you?”
“Maybe I’ve grown since coming to this island.”
It’s probably thanks to Amane. She was the first person I worked with here. After spending time with her, I’ve become much more resistant to being around girls.
My social awkwardness has also improved a lot.
Before, I used to sit alone in the corner of the classroom.
Now, I’m surrounded by girls, living in what feels like paradise. If this life could last forever, it would be heaven for me, but…it probably won’t last.
Someday, we’ll have to go back. That’s why I need to give it my all.
“You’re close with Amane and Kitakami, right? Are you dating one of them?”
“No, for now…we’re just friends.”
“For now, huh? Well, there’s still time then.”
Ooi settled into the water.
Her ample, soft breasts…swayed right in front of me. It’s…huge.
I’ve never seen such a cleavage up close in my life.
“…………”
“You’re looking at my breasts, aren’t you?”
“Well, when you show off something so impressive…sorry.”
“It’s fine, it’s fine. Do you want to touch them?”
“!? N-no, that’s…”
“Ahaha, I’m just joking.”
Whew, so it was just a joke.
For a moment there, I was really nervous!
“By the way, you hang out with Nomo-san, Sasayama-san, and Ootsuka-san a lot, don’t you? You all seem close.”
“I’ve known Anzu since we were kids. Nomo-san is a classmate, and Sasayama and I were in the same club.”
“I see…By the way, what was Kubo-san like?”
“………”
I tried asking about Kubo, but Ooi’s expression darkened. Of course, she must feel betrayed by someone she trusted.
It’s a sensitive topic.
Honestly, I didn’t really want to bring it up either. But the fact that Kubo took the boat…that’s serious.
“Can high school girls even operate a boat?”
“High schoolers can get a small vessel license. Kubo-san apparently had one.”
“Seriously? That’s impressive.”
So she knew how to operate the boat.
“I still can’t believe it. Kubo-san was the student council president, a top student, and well-liked by everyone. She even played with us often.”
She was the student council president? Someone like that stole the boat…
Why did she leave us behind? If she had taken us with her, we could’ve called for help.
Was she scared of the mercenary? Or worse, was it that she only wanted to save herself? I don’t want to believe that.
There’s an even scarier possibility.
“This is just a guess, but was Kubo-san close with the head teacher?”
“No way…Hmm. Since she was student council president, she might have talked to Tachikawa-sensei, but…she didn’t seem like the type to do something so terrible.”
It doesn’t seem impossible. If Kubo and Tachikawa were working together, they might show up again.
“We’ll find out eventually, I’m sure.”
“Probably…By the way, what do you think of girls with large breasts, Hayasaka-kun?”
“Huh!?”
Suddenly hit with such a question, my mind went blank. What is this? A roundabout confession? No way…
“After spending a few days together, I realized that Hayasaka-kun is an amazing person.”
“That’s not true. I’m just an ordinary guy. I used to be alone, without friends, without a girlfriend…and I probably still will be.”
“You should be more confident. You’re a bundle of talent. You’ve got a special skill that no one else has. You could be a survival expert.”
Hearing a girl compliment me like that makes me feel really good. It gives me confidence and lifts my spirits. Wow, I guess I did have talent. I didn’t realize it before.
“I’m starting to feel a bit more confident, thanks.”
“Good. I’m looking forward to working with you, Hayasaka-kun.”
She held my hand, and my heart started racing again. Ooi is so kind.

Chapter 46: The Final Battle (1)
A few minutes after leaving the bath, everyone returned from the sea.
Amane and Kitakami, especially restless, came up to me.
“Ha-Hayasaka-kun…nothing happened with Ooi-san, right?”
“Um, Kei-kun…is it okay if I kill you?”
While Amane’s reaction was somewhat expected, Kitakami had already developed a murderous intent. Don’t look at me with those assassin eyes!
I calmed the two of them down.
“Don’t worry. Nothing like what you two are thinking happened.”
“Really?”
“Believe me, Amane.”
“Well, if you say so.”
“You’re forgiving me?”
“…I have no choice, right? There are a lot of girls here…besides, I trust you, Hayasaka-kun.”
Amane smiled as she said that.
For her to trust me that much…it made me incredibly happy. I had to make sure I didn’t betray her trust.
However, right now, my life was still in danger. Kitakami was here.
“Hehe…”
“Stop pointing the knife and laughing so eerily, Kitakami-san.”
“Normally, I would investigate this further, but there are more pressing matters.”
Kitakami whispered to me.
“What’s wrong, Kitakami-san?”
“It seems a storm is approaching. There were many rain clouds beyond the horizon, and the sea was rough.”
Seriously?
Now that she mentioned it, the air felt slightly damp. This could be bad. If a storm hits, this base won’t last. We’ll have no choice but to take refuge inside the cave. I needed to inform everyone.
“Everyone, listen. The weather looks suspicious. There’s a chance a storm is coming. We should prepare and stay inside the cave.”
“Huh? But the weather is nice?” Riko questioned.
“It’s true, Riko. You can sense it in the air before it rains. Let’s eat and relax now.”
We hurriedly prepared dinner and retreated to the cave.
Outside, darkness had already begun to settle.
It started drizzling. From a distance, we could even hear the rumble of thunder…this storm was going to get worse.
“Wow…it’s raining.”
“I told you, Riko.”
“Yeah, sorry for doubting you.”
“That’s fine, but let’s move further into the cave. It’ll be tough if things get worse.”
We led everyone deeper into the cave.
I didn’t want to get too close to that lake. Plus, there was the mercenary guy to worry about.
Kitakami, sensing my concern, whispered to me again.
“Kei-kun, I have a bad feeling about this.”
“Yeah…let’s check on that mercenary first.”
I told everyone we were going to check on the mercenary. Amane and Kitakami followed me.
The cave, likely due to the weather outside, had grown more humid. Guided by the light of our torches, we moved forward and found the mercenary.
He was tied to a rock, unable to move.
“…You’ve finally come, kid.”
“Yeah, I came to check on you. There’s a storm outside.”
“Is that so…”
The mercenary, unlike before, looked exhausted. He seemed drained, as if he had lost the will to live.
“Alright, we’ll head back now.”
“…W-wait, kid.”
“What is it? I’ve got nothing more to say to you.”
“Wait. Even I value my life. I’ll tell you about my employer…Tachikawa.”
“You told me that before. Tachikawa is after the treasure at the bottom of the lake. That’s why he orchestrated this plan.”
“That’s right. So, you can’t trust anyone, especially that woman—Gah!”
Suddenly, there was a loud *bang*, and the mercenary’s forehead was blown open. W-who!? Who shot him…?
“…Seems like he was about to say something unnecessary, John.”
Someone emerged from the depths of the cave.
T-this person…why are they here!?
“You…!”
“I’m sure you’ve realized it by now, given what that mercenary John Smith must have been saying.”
The person who appeared was Kubo.
So, it was true. Everything the mercenary…John said was real.
On that day, John had told us that Kubo was the one behind everything.
“Kubo-san, why!?”
“Good evening, Amane-san. Why? It’s simple. Because I’m Tachikawa’s daughter.”
“Wha…no way.”
“It’s not a lie. Our last names are different, but I’m his daughter. He’s been planning this since before he became a teacher. He even changed his last name for it!”
So that was the connection between Kubo and the school director, Tachikawa.
It turned out Tachikawa’s former last name was “Kubo.” He had gone so far as to change his name just to carry out this terrifying plan.
Kubo, now pointing a gun at us, glared at me with a menacing expression.
“Stop it, Kubo-san. Don’t add any more crimes to your name.”
“Hah!? What are you talking about, Hayasaka? You killed Kurashima, didn’t you? I know! I saw the body floating in the lake!”
“It was self-defense.”
“Self-defense!? Don’t try to cover it up with such words—aaahhhhhh!”
Suddenly, Kubo screamed, her whole body trembling. She began bleeding profusely from her mouth, her face filled with disbelief.
W-what was happening!?
“Hayasaka-kun, look at that!!”
I followed Amane’s finger, and behind Kubo…no way!
“You fools…you should have just kept killing each other quietly. But now that you’ve seen me, I’ll have to kill you all.”
In the darkness, there stood a white-haired man.
With sharp eyes, he glared at me as he pulled a knife out of Kubo’s back.
“W-why…d-dad…”
“Sayaka, I’m not your father anymore. I am now ‘Tachikawa.'”
“N-no…I did it all for you…”
“For me? Don’t be ridiculous. You tried to steal Captain Kidd’s treasure. That crime is far too grave. So, I’ll kill you painlessly, at least.”
“P-please…dad…stop!”
*Bang*, *bang*, *bang*—the gunshots echoed several times.
Kubo died instantly.
“T-Tachikawa…you killed your own daughter!!!”
“Oh, Hayasaka-kun. I’ve heard about your efforts. You see, I installed surveillance cameras all over this island. I’ve also been intercepting your radio communications. So, I know a fair bit about what’s been going on.”
“You bastard! How far does your cruelty go!?”
“You can say whatever you want. Besides, it’s a storm outside…there’s nowhere to run. In the end, whoever survives will get the boat.”
So, if Kubo was here, that means there’s a boat. I have to stop Tachikawa at all costs.
“Tachikawa, your crimes end here.”
“You fool. I have a gun. It’s over.”
Tachikawa pointed his gun at me, smugly confident.
But I also had the Desert Eagle on my back.
I reached for the gun at my waist.
I’ll end this…with one shot!
