■ Newly Introduced Character
-
- Feril Everett (Margrave’s Daughter / Reincarnator)
Origin and Background:
The only daughter of the Margravial House of Everett located in the western frontier. Her family is a branch of the Agreia Marquis household—Reina’s family—and since childhood, she had been dearly cherished by Reina.
At the age of ten, she regained the memories of her previous life as an office worker in modern Japan and realized that this world was both similar to and different from the web novel “The Crown and the Cage of Purity” that she herself had once written. Since then, she had feared that her existence might alter the course of the story, keeping that secret from everyone and living in long, silent restraint. In Episode 25, she met Valis and learned that he, too, was a reincarnator. Finally relieved of the weight on her heart, she began to involve herself earnestly in the events of the story from that point onward.
Speech and Personality:
At first meetings, she spoke in a refined and polite manner, leaving an impression of grace. However, once she grew close to someone, her personality from her past life surfaced. She would display a playful, casual tone, and sometimes a sharp tongue to hide her embarrassment.
Although intelligent and cautious, she also possessed a strong sense of justice and a fragile sensitivity born from years of hiding her secret. While easily flustered by sexual topics, she had a reasonable understanding of such matters thanks to the kingdom’s education system. She understood that her beauty drew attention, but she disliked standing out.
Relationships:
She called Reina “Onee-sama” with deep affection and trust. Toward Valis, she felt a special bond as someone who came from the same world, while still maintaining the respect due to him as the Crown Prince. She looked up to Milia with admiration and respect.
■ Existing Characters – Development and Progress (Ep. 16–27)
-
- Valis Alveria (First Prince)
He expanded the establishment of public bathhouses and licensed prostitution systems to rural regions, tackling issues of hygiene. Learning from previous incidents, he implemented lime-based disinfection and regular water replacement as standard operating procedures. As a result, the demand for lime surged, and he proposed a national policy to expand imports and construct lime kilns in each village.
Diplomacy:
He placed emphasis on building relations with the Elven nation Silva Haruna, located deep beyond the vast western forest. By investigating mysterious blank portions found in past envoy records, he sought possible openings for negotiation.
Personal Life:
His relationship with Reina and Milia grew more stable, deepening both trust and affection. After hearing Feril’s confession of reincarnation, he accepted her as “one who shares the same origin,” and treated her with great care. He clearly separated his public and private life, handling information regarding reincarnation with utmost discretion.
-
- Reina Agreia (Future Queen / Marquis’s Daughter)
Her relationship with Milia strengthened into one of mutual trust as partners supporting the Crown Prince, rather than rivals. In public, she maintained a dignified and graceful demeanor; in private, she showed a sweet and gentle side.
Role:
She oversaw etiquette and ceremonial protocols, serving as a symbol of decorum and refinement during official events and regional activities.
-
- Milia Elfein (Saint / Duke’s Daughter)
While her bright and innocent nature remained unchanged, she had begun expressing her affection more openly. Though she often lightened the mood, she had also grown capable of making remarks that struck to the heart of matters.
Role:
Using her Divine Arts, she played an active role in hygiene reform efforts across the land. As she traveled, she brought people peace of mind as a “living proof of purity.”
■ World and Factions (Additions & Updates)
-
- Kingdom of Alveria
Current Situation:
The development of sewer systems and public baths had greatly improved hygiene standards. However, the demand for lime had rapidly increased, resulting in supply shortages.
Future Policy:
Strengthen diplomatic ties with the neighboring Kingdom of Beltea and import raw materials.
Establish lime kilns throughout the land to build a self-sufficient supply network.
-
- Elven Kingdom of Silva Haruna
Overview:
A large community of elves dwelling within the vast western forest, protected by sacred trees.
They had long avoided contact with the outside world.
Characteristics:
Many elves were adept users of Spirit Arts—elemental magic born from communion with nature. Their power weakened when away from their homeland, due to their deep-rooted bond with local spirits.
-
- Everett Margraviate (Western Frontier)
Overview:
A land governed by a branch of the Agreia Marquis house. Its origin dated back a century, when a member of the Agreia family—then serving as the Royal Guard Captain—was dispatched to this frontier and granted a new margraveship.
-
- Kingdom of Beltea
Overview:
A nation rich in lime resources but plagued by long-lasting civil unrest. Due to its mineral wealth, it was seen as a promising trade partner for Alveria’s expanding import needs.
■ Terms (Additions)
-
- Elves and Dwarves (Races)
Overview:
Human-like races residing on the continent, skilled in the use of Spirit Arts. They generally lived in small settlements, though in some countries they occupied important social or governmental positions. Within Alveria, no Elven or Dwarven villages existed—the closest one lay beyond the Everett Margraviate to the west, in the Elven nation Silva Haruna.
Elves and Dwarves in this world lived longer than humans, though not by much (with humans averaging around 60 years, while they lived roughly 80–90 years). However, they remained youthful for longer. Elves, in particular, did not begin aging until after sixty, after which their decline progressed rapidly over the next twenty years or so.

Chapter 29: Morning Tea and the Nameless Record
ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
The morning dining hall was filled with the warm aroma of freshly baked bread and the soft clinking of dishes. The morning light streaming through the windows was gentle, pleasantly easing the still-drowsy mind.
Valis took his seat and wrapped both hands around a steaming cup of tea. Taking a quiet sip, the bitterness and fragrance spread across his tongue. Across from him, Reina smiled faintly, while Milia cheerfully tore pieces from her bread. Both had serene expressions, still carrying a faint trace of the previous night’s afterglow.
In contrast, Feril was different. A damp, piercing gaze shot his way. The hand holding the cup almost faltered, but he pretended not to notice and took another sip.
Ah… This is definitely that look—the one that says she’s angry about what happened last night.
Considering how Feril had been constantly complaining about matters of “sex education,” it was hardly surprising that she had figured out what Valis and the others had been up to while sharing the same room.
No, that face wasn’t speculation. It was the face of certainty.
“Valis-kun, do you want some butter?”
Whether she noticed Valis’s tension or not, the culprit herself—Milia—tilted her head innocently as she asked. After all, last night had played out in their usual pattern: Milia got carried away and started teasing Valis, which flustered Reina, who ended up getting drawn in. Valis, trying to discipline Milia, somehow ended up completely overtaken by Reina in the end.
“I’ll have some, thanks.”
“Here you go! This morning’s batch is a little saltier than usual.”
He accepted the offered knife and spread the butter over his bread. Reina smiled softly at the sight. At that moment, a discreet knock sounded from beyond the door, and the butler entered, bowing politely as he announced.
“Klaus-sama has returned.”
Margrave Everett—Feril’s father. The air around the table immediately grew taut.
“Your Highness Prince Valis, I deeply apologize for my absence last night. Please forgive the discourtesy.”
Klaus entered the room and bowed deeply. According to Feril and her mother, the Margravine, Klaus was constantly touring his domain, and it was rare for him to be home. Among the diligent and duty-bound Alverian nobility, his industriousness was exceptional even by their standards.
“Think nothing of it, Margrave Everett. If anything, I should apologize for arriving so suddenly.”
As they exchanged words, their gazes met. There was a quiet resolve reflected in Klaus’s expression, as though he had something important to say.
“Regarding the matter of the Elven nation, Silva Haruna, mentioned in the letter you sent recently… There is one thing that comes to mind.”
The room fell silent. None of them had expected Klaus, who had intended to take his time confirming the details, to already have a lead.
“It concerns my grandfather—the first Margrave Everett, Laurel. I was born late to his son, my father, so I never met my grandfather personally. But whenever my father spoke of him, it was always as a ‘great warrior.’”
Though Klaus’s voice remained calm, there was a note of conviction beneath it, carrying a sense of determination.
“However, there has long been one thing that troubled me. There are absolutely no records concerning my grandfather’s wife, my grandmother. The only thing my father ever told me was that ‘his mother died giving birth to him.’ No name, no family, nothing was ever passed down.”
“Not even her name…?”
Reina narrowed her eyes.
“That’s correct. In a noble lineage, such a thing is extremely unusual. My father said he had asked my grandfather about it many times, but never received an answer.”
“Could it be that the woman was…”
Milia lowered her voice and Klaus nodded.
“My father assumed she might have been of low birth. But for a man who had become a Margrave, in this kingdom no less, it seems strange that he would go so far as to conceal her very name simply for that reason. It always struck me as odd. And when this topic came up—how my grandfather was appointed Margrave shortly after leaving the royal capital—I began to suspect there might be a connection.”
Valis spoke the conclusion that hung unsaid between them.
“You believe that the then–Margrave Everett, Laurel, may have met an Elven woman in Silva Haruna.”
Feril and Milia both gasped softly.
“That… That is what I have come to suspect. There is no solid proof, but I believe my grandfather may have met someone in the forest nation—someone he came to love. A child was born, and when it caused a stir, he chose to leave the capital of his own accord and take up life in the frontier, so as not to bring turmoil to the kingdom.”
“Valis-kun… Could that really happen?”
Milia looked at him earnestly. Valis nodded quietly.
“Elves live slightly longer than humans, but not by much. And they can have children with humans. However, any child born between an Elf and a human will be human, never Elf.”
In this world, Elves lived to around a hundred years—longer than humans, whose average lifespan was about sixty—but not dramatically so. In Alveria, improved public health and better diets had already extended human life spans considerably. In shorts, the difference in lifespan could easily be attributed to lifestyle.
“So then… Feril’s grandmother really could have been an Elf…”
“It’s possible. But if that were the case, I wonder why no record of it remains.”
At that point, Reina spoke in her usual composed tone.
“In the Agreia family archives, there are plenty of records from Lord Laurel’s time as a royal knight. But the materials from just before and after he was appointed Margrave… All of them are missing, almost too cleanly so.”
“My father said the same.”
Klaus added. If Laurel had forcibly taken an Elf from Silva Haruna as his wife, that would have been considered a scandal among the Alverian nobility of the time—enough to justify erasing all records.
However, had that been the case, it would likely have led to open conflict with Silva Haruna. Even if things had calmed down later, when the current proposal for reestablishing diplomatic relations arose, one would expect Silva Haruna to at least voice some resentment toward Alveria.
As mentioned earlier, when an Elf and a human have a child, it is always human.. In other words, the Elf gene was completely recessive. Though called “cultural exchange,” from the Elves’ perspective, too much interbreeding could threaten the very continuity of their race.
If an envoy had committed such a transgression while representing his kingdom, it would give the Elves ample reason to resent Alveria. And yet, what existed now between them was only a “quiet severance.” The causal chain was becoming clearer, but one essential piece of the puzzle still seemed to be missing. Klaus himself appeared unsatisfied with his own hypothesis.
“That is why, with Your Highness’s permission, I would like you to review the old family records stored in our archive.”
With that, he produced a heavy ring of keys, their metal catching the light with a dull gleam.
“These are the keys to the Margrave’s record vault. They include not only the general archives but also the restricted section where special documents are kept. I would ask that Your Highness examine them personally.”
“…My thanks. I will take full responsibility for reviewing them.”
“Feril.”
Klaus turned to his daughter, who quietly rose from her seat.
“I will assist His Highness.”
“Good. I will tour the ancient sites within the domain again. Perhaps there are still traces left of my grandfather… Laurel’s deeds.”
“I appreciate your cooperation. Please inform us immediately if you discover anything.”
Klaus bowed deeply and left the dining hall. Those who remained—Valis and the others—exchanged small, determined nods.
“Then, shall we go to the archive? Before it gets too warm?”
Milia smiled brightly.
“We have the keys now. It may be the perfect time.”
Reina said, to which Feril nodded.
“I’ll show you the way. It’s on the second floor of the southern tower. The morning light reaches it beautifully.”
Valis looked down at the bundle of keys resting in his palm. A grandmother whose name had never been recorded, an empty space in the family history, and a quiet mystery connecting them all.
I hope we can find all the missing pieces…
The sunlight streaming through the corridor windows shimmered softly in the air.
