The Real Hero Treated as a Fake
Nord’s POV
“Hah…”
Seeing Kain trembling and clutching his head in fear, I can’t help but sigh.
Despite knowing that he is weak right now, I can’t help but to wonder if Kain will truly awaken as a hero.
“Hey, you coward. It’s over.”
“Eh!?”
“Hey, Kain. I’ve arranged everything. Make sure to make Elise yours!”
“Why did you bring up my name…?”
“It’s better for you not to know. But more importantly, don’t you want to be with Elise? Answer me, pathetic hero!”
“Y-Yes! I-I want to be with her! I want Elise to be my bride!”
“Hmph, then go for it! If you meet Elise and introduce yourself, she’ll probably say, ‘Ah, Kain-sama! Coming to me like this is wonderful! Let’s get engaged!’ and then she’ll easily spread her legs for you.”
I mimicked Elise’s tone of voice and encourage Kain to see this as an opportunity.
Hearing my words, Kain stands up and clenches his fist, showing determination.
“There’s no time to hesitate. She’s quite a beauty. You have many rivals. Protect her.”
“Yes! I don’t know who you are, but thank you! I’ll do my best!”
Kain is encouraged and dashes towards the direction of the Magdalia Count’s mansion.
Alrighty then!
It went well.
If Kain goes to Elise’s mansion now, the two will undoubtedly be together, and I’ll have a slow and peaceful life.
It’s definitely a win-win situation.
Elise’s POV
Resting my chin in my hand, I wonder how much time has passed.
Lately, I can’t focus on my studies or training my healing magic.
All of this is because I received help from that person.
“Kain-sama…”
Wearing a light brown coloured hood, I can hardly tell his hair colour. But when the wind blew, glimpses of dark hair could be seen. Half of his face down from the nose was covered by a cloth, so I can’t clearly see his face, but I can’t get those beautiful blue eyes out of my mind.
That sharp gaze reminiscent of a bird of prey, deep blue eyes that seemed to freeze me just by looking at it.
It was scary to look at, making my body tremble, yet so beautiful that I can’t get enough of it…
“Elise…what’s the matter? You’ve been sighing constantly.”
Bikuuu!
“M-Mother…when did you…?”
“I’ve been calling out to you for a while now.”
Somehow, I didn’t even notice when my mother touched my shoulder and spoke to me.
“I actually…no, it’s nothing.”
My mother noticed that I haven’t touched any of the sweets on the table for a while. She seems worried.
However, I remain silent.
Could this possibly be love?
Suddenly, Rin, a maid wearing glasses, asks with a troubled expression.
“Excuse me. There’s someone who wishes to see Elise-sama…what shall I do?”
“Who is it?”
“He introduced himself as Kain from Swoop Village…”
Eh!?
My heart felt like it might stop the moment Rin said so.
After all the times he declined my invitations, I never imagined Kain-sama would actually come to see me!
“Rin, please show him in to see me immediately.”
“Yes, Elise-sama, right away.”
When I go to the parlour, a young man who introduced himself as Kain stands up and reaches out for a handshake.
“Elise! Thank you for meeting me.”
Eh!?
I met Kain-sama, who rescued me from those kidnappers, but everything was so different from the image I had when we met, I’m so confused…
I’m not particularly concerned about the distinction between commoners and nobles, but I can’t help but feel a slight annoyance at the strangely familiar attitude of the boy who introduced himself as Kain-sama.
Without taking his hand, I introduce myself.
“I am Elise Magdalia. I’ll be frank with you, are you truly Kain-sama?”
“Yes, that’s right! I’m really Kain!”
With scepticism towards his words, I take a sip of the tea.
It’s really hot, almost to the point of burning my tongue…
“Rin, it seems the tea has cooled. Could you please replace it?”
“Certainly.”
Rin takes the teapot and leave the parlour.
Then…
“Ojousama! Is he the one!?”
“Yes, please escort him to the dungeon.”
“Eh!? What did I do?”
Not long after Rin left the parlour, strong knights that are assigned to guard the mansion appear. They pulled out a chair for the boy pretending to be Kain-sama, immediately tied him onto the chair and restrained him.
The sharp gaze that could make any girl’s heart flutter, the dignified yet confident manner of speaking, and his somewhat dark and dangerous atmosphere—they were all so different from the boy before me.
“What did you do? You have falsely claimed to be Kain-sama who saved my life! Until we find out who you really are, you will be detained for the time being.”
“Elise! I’m the real Kain! Believe me! Please believe meeeeee!”
The boy pretending to be Kain-sama is taken away by the knights.
I’m not that foolish to be fooled by such transparent lies.
In the face of true love, transparent lies are easily exposed.
As Rin pours new tea into the cup, she says,
“It’s unusual to see Elise-sama being so strict with someone.”
“Yes…”
I just can’t forgive the boy who pretended to be Kain-sama.
That boy trampled upon my innocent feelings of love…
Ah…where is the real Kain-sama…?
Hot…!
I almost burned my tongue with the hot tea, but with Kain-sama, I want to experience a passionate love that burns like fire.
