- Chapter 22 & 23 - Everyone at Once Would Be the Most Efficient, I Think | I'm Embarrassed Too
Everyone at Once Would Be the Most Efficient, I Think
I married all four of them. The elf Airi, the human Meg, the succubus Sakura, and the beast-ear Misty.
Airi, Meg, and I were adventurers at the same party. Sakura was a full-time employee at the marriage agency. Misty handled the housework for us.
Then, one night some time after we got married, we all gathered around the table in the living room for a certain discussion.
“Listen. What we are about to discuss is very important. So please think about it seriously.”
What we were about to discuss was our nighttime life. Sakura was leading it. In a way, it was a bold choice.
Once you got married, the next thing to worry about was children… probably. After all, I had never been married, so I did not know much.
I had decided to leave this until after marriage. My thinking was too rigid, but to be honest, I had been so focused on dating all four of them that I had no room to think about it.
So this was definitely not a shady discussion. It was entirely serious.
“I think everyone at once would be the most efficient.”
“Yes, Sakura is out.”
“Why!?”
“Too succubus-like. And what do you even mean by efficient?”
“Kaito the cheapskate!”
“What are you, a kid!?”
Well, I had said that, but who else would be suitable?
(Airi is… straight-faced. Meg is… a little embarrassed? Misty is… looking amused?)
I could not tell what Airi was thinking, and Misty did not seem to grasp the topic fully. After all, she had been a little girl not long ago. …But she was an adult now, so it was fine.
That left Meg, but was it even okay to have a girl lead a discussion like this?
“Then just decide it yourself, Kaito. Let us go by turns.”
“That troubles me too. It feels like ranking them, and I hesitate to do that. It is embarrassing to say, but all of you are important to me.”
“Then shall we do nominations? Yes, anyone here who wants to be first, raise your hand.”
“Come on, Sakura, who would raise their hand for something like that?”
When I said that, Sakura directed her gaze in a certain direction. When I followed it, Misty had her hand raised.
“Oh, this is unexpected. Are you at that age where you are interested in such things?”
“Wah, I am a proper adult too! Besides, I studied the knowledge in books.”
This world had that kind of education too. In a serious sense, it was an indispensable topic.
“That is impressive. So, Misty, do you have any experience?”
What kind of question was that from Sakura? Did she think Misty would answer?
“I do not…! After all, Father and Mother taught me to be extremely cautious about it.”
She answered…! Right, Misty was a young lady. So her family had probably been extra strict about such matters.
But I would not mention how relieved that made me.
“I see. But you will be fine. Just leave it to Kaito.”
“Yes!”
Somehow, a strange pressure settled on me.
“Anyone else…? It seems not. Then it is decided that Misty is first.”
Just as Sakura said that and it seemed settled, Meg, who had been unusually quiet, spoke up.
“Wait a minute. It looks like Airi is raising her hand. Very slightly, though.”
When I looked at Airi, she indeed had her right hand raised just a little.
“Oh, this is unexpected too. I thought elves had no interest in such things.”
“Elves do have a side that is oblivious to those matters. But it is not that we do it meaninglessly; elves need to leave descendants too.”
Airi spoke in her usual flat tone.
“I want to make a child with Kaito.”
But her statement was outrageous.

I’m Embarrassed Too
“Kaito and I want to make a child? Airi, you are surprisingly bold.”
Sakura was absolutely right about that. What kind of reaction was I supposed to have when she said it?
“Did I say something strange?”
“No, it is fine. That is a perfectly natural thing for any living being.”
Sakura occasionally said something sensible, and that element of surprise was part of her charm.
“Then let us summarize what we have decided so far. First, it will be a contest between Airi and Misty. Is that okay with you, Meg?”
Meg’s reaction had actually been the hardest to read. But since she was human, her sensibilities should be similar to mine.
“Huh, me? O-Of course it is fine! I need time to prepare myself mentally too.”
“Mental preparation, huh. Meg, you are so cute.”
“B-But it cannot be helped. I do not know.”
Was Meg like that too…? She had said she was on a ten-loss confession streak.
That was right. Losing at confessions meant she could not start dating. Not dating meant no boyfriend. No boyfriend meant no partner.
Was it wrong of me to feel a little happy about that?
“Then let us move things along. What should Airi and Misty do—”
“Um, Sakura!”
Misty stood up and spoke loudly.
“Oh, Misty, what is it?”
“I will withdraw from being first after all.”
“Is that okay? Why did you decide that?”
“Long before I started staying here, Airi had already been with Kaito, right? She must have spent much more time with him than I have. So I thought it would be wrong to put my own wishes ahead of that.”
Misty said that, but it had not even been a year since I met Airi.
Was that a long time or a short time? Which was it?
But when no one else would join my party, Airi was the only one who spoke to me. Perhaps it had been out of obligation.
But Airi had always stayed by my side. Sometimes her words and actions seemed odd, but I owed my life in this world to her.
When I thought about it that way, unfamiliar feelings toward Airi began to bud inside me.
“Sakura, I want Airi. I am sorry, Misty.”
“Fuu… I have been waiting for those words. So, Misty, is that okay with you?”
“Of course!”
“Yes, Misty is a good girl. As a reward, I will stroke your ears.”
“Nn… Ahfa…!”
“What are you two doing?”
And so that night, I was now alone with Airi in the dimly lit room.
“Airi, thank you so much for everything up to now.”
“No, you are welcome.”
“And please take care of me from now on too.”
“Yes, of course.”
We gazed at each other for a while. We were both the quiet type, so there were no words. But that was fine.
Then I reached for Airi’s clothes. The maid outfit. For some reason, she wore a maid outfit at home. Even this inexplicable sensibility seemed cute to me now.
I saw Airi’s shoulders for the first time. Her adventurer clothes exposed her thighs, but now I just thought they were beautiful.
Airi’s expression was the same as always. So I could not tell what she was thinking. But she let me do as I pleased.
“Kaito, what is wrong? Your hand has stopped. I am embarrassed too.”
“I see.”
“Because I do not know what kind of face to make at a time like this.”
“Airi, you can be yourself. I want you to be natural.”
“I am your first, Kaito.”
“I see. Thank you for choosing me.”
And then we spent time together as a couple.
