Chapter 20: The Losing Jail Guard Reunites Without Trouble
Fwoooooooooshhhhhh!!!!
The four boosters —two on the legs and two on the back— roared to life, shooting out flames.
The ‘Prototype Ultimate Invincible Golem Mark 58 Super’ had transformed into its new form and was now soaring through the sky.
At a glance, it looked surprisingly sleek.
It was a giant two-legged robot, with a ridiculously narrow waist.
Mounted on its back were four pairs of folded cannons —eight in total— which, from a distance, kind of looked like wings.
Thanks to melting down all those gold coins, the whole thing was covered in golden armor.
We called it the ‘Strongest Golem’.
I had serious concerns about Elette’s naming sense, but even so, you couldn’t deny her genius.
“This is… amazing. Seriously, this is awesome!”
“Fufufu. Don’t be too impressed just yet, Lugus-suss. Oh? It looks like there’s a wild dragon nearby.”
It seemed we’d wandered into a dragon’s territory without realizing it.
A furious dragon was now flying straight toward us.
Normally, this would be the part where we’d panic and try to run away, but instead—
“All bits, deploy!”
From the storage compartments on ‘Strongest Golem’s’ shoulders, countless spheres shot out.
There were a hundred of them.
An insane number of spheres zoomed toward the dragon, surrounding it at high speed.
Then, in the blink of an eye—
Searing hot beams tore through the dragon’s scales, which were normally tough enough to deflect any magic.
The dragon let out a final cry and fell lifelessly to the ground.
“Uh… Sorry, Mr. Dragon. We’re the ones who invaded your territory…”
“Hahaha!! Incredible, Lugus-suss! Simply incredible!!”
“Uh, I didn’t really do anything, though.”
“Stop being modest!! I can’t live without you now!! Oh, I know —Lugus-suss, let’s just get married. Our children would definitely be adorable.”
Wait, what? Did Elette just propose!?
“T-That’s unacceptable!! Master is a demon!!”
“Oh, little maid. If you want to be Lugus-suss’s wife too, I won’t mind.”
“W-Who wants to be Master’s wife!? R-Right now, I’m just a slave!! I’m Master’s loyal pet!!”
Uh… Did Laecia just call herself a pet?
And also…
“Um, couldn’t we have made this cockpit a little bigger?”
The cockpit was still ridiculously cramped.
It was a bit wider than before, but Elette, me, and Laecia were still all squished together.
Laecia’s breasts were practically resting on my head, and Elette’s butt was still pressing against my very sensitive area.
“Hmm? Is there a problem?”
“Well, uh, yeah… There’s a lot going on…”
“Fufufu, I see. That hard thing poking my butt must be a big problem for you.”
Elette was definitely doing this on purpose. She knew exactly what she was doing and kept pressing her butt into me.
This was a far cry from the Elette I knew in the game.
The fact that I was the only one who got to see this side of her was… weirdly exciting.
But I couldn’t lose control now.
“L-Let’s save Miss Katiana first and talk about this later.”
“Fufu, you’re right.”
Elette gave me a sly smile, and we headed toward the kingdom where Katiana had gone.
In less than half a day, we arrived, and—
“Whoa, the capital’s surrounded!?”
We finally reached Katiana’s homeland, only to see the royal capital surrounded by thousands of soldiers.
I thought it was the rebels who were laying siege to the city, but…
“No, Lugus-suss. It’s the other way around. The soldiers surrounding the capital are the royal army led by Katia-something.”
When I looked closer, the thousands of soldiers surrounding the capital were carrying the kingdom’s flag.
In contrast, the flags within the capital were torn down and burned.
Oh, right —Katiana did say her father had been imprisoned.
Katiana is a knight princess, and her father is the king.
So, she must be surrounding the capital to rescue her captured father.
“But they’re outnumbered, aren’t they?”
Katiana’s army had only a few thousand soldiers.
On the other hand, Elette said the rebel army holed up inside the capital numbered in the tens of thousands.
“How do you know that so accurately?”
“Thanks to the radar you told me about. It can detect people with hostile intent or fighting spirit.”
“Oh. Cool.”
At this point, Mr. Golem could basically do anything.
We headed straight to the royal army’s headquarters, which was surrounding the capital.
Naturally, the soldiers rushed out to see what was going on.
But Elette didn’t seem to care. She just opened the cockpit and casually popped her head out.
“Hey there, mind if we drop by? Is Katia-something here?”
“W-Who are you people!?”
“When asking someone’s name, it’s polite to introduce yourself first. Basic manners, my friend.”
Elette took a bossy tone with what looked like an important officer.
W-Wow. Her guts are insane.
Normally, she’d be cut down on the spot for this, but the soldiers were clearly too terrified of Strongest Golem standing behind her to make a move.
And then—
“W-Why are you here!?”
“Oh, hey, Katia-something. It’s been a few days. How’ve you been?”
“I-I’ve been fine, but…”
Katiana stepped out from the command tent.
It looked like they were just about to launch a full-on attack on the rebels in the capital, so we managed to reunite with her pretty easily.
Meanwhile…
“Waaaahhh!! I’m gonna hate those people foreverrrr!!”
Nea, who had basically been robbed blind by Elette, was left crying and screaming.
