Chapter 55: Sumie Fudo – Extra Edition: Because of Love… 5/8
I was a bit worried that kind-hearted Kenichi-kun might extend a helping hand to his worthless childhood friend, but for now, it seems like that won’t be an issue.
All that’s left is to make sure the trashy ex-stepsister understands who Kenichi-kun’s real sister is♪
When I arrived at school that morning, the topic of conversation was, of course, all about Kenichi-kun. I hung my bag on my chair and joined the usual group of girls.
“Hey, Sumie, did you see Fudo-senpai yesterday? He was amazing!”
“Yeah, totally! The way he fought—it was like something out of an action movie!”
“Not only is he strong, but he’s also at the top of the class, a published novelist, and has money and fame. He’s gotten a bit intimidating lately, but he’s so good-looking too. Isn’t he just perfect?”
These bitches… Not too long ago, they were calling him a gloomy nerd and saying how gross he was. Now they’ve completely changed their tune?
Oh well. I can use them as pawns against the trash.
“Ah, yeah, Fudo-senpai… actually, he’s my cousin~♪”
“”Whhhaaaat!?””
“Yup, we’re cousins~♪”
“Hey, Sumie! Is it true you’re Fudo-senpai’s sister?”
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Kotone enter the classroom, so I made sure she could hear as I replied.
“No, no, not his sister. I’m his stepsister, but we’re actually cousins too, haha.”
Kotone, visibly shocked and confused by what I was saying, started walking toward my desk to ask more questions.
“Wait, Sumie!? You’re cousins with Ken-n… I mean, Fudo-senpai…? You never told me…”
“Eh? Really? Oh, sorry! I only found out recently myself, so I must’ve forgotten to tell you, Kotone~♪”
Ah, this feeling! That frustrated look on your face—I’ve been holding back the same feelings toward you for years! Now, you can finally understand!
I decided to push Kotone further while she was still reeling.
“Oh! But everyone, my Onii-san told me to call him Fudo-senpai at school, so make sure you all remember that too~♪”
Kotone’s shoulders trembled as she glared at me with anger in her eyes.
“Sumie!! What do you think you’re doing? Is this all to get back at me!?”
Her sudden outburst caught the attention of the other classmates, and I could see them whispering, “What’s going on?” Perfect, let them all hear this.
“Hahaha, I don’t really get why Kotone’s so mad~♪”
With a playful jump from my desk, I landed right in front of Kotone. The years of resentment surged inside me, but I quickly calmed myself. Turning to the rest of the class with a cheerful smile, I made sure everyone was watching.
“Well, Kotone is an only child, so maybe she got a little jealous that I suddenly have such a cool and handsome cousin~”
“I know, right! I wish I had a handsome brother like that!” “I’d want him as my boyfriend!” “Hey, Sumie! You should introduce me to Fudo-senpai!”
(Huh? Are you guys idiots? Kenichi-kun is mine, and no one else’s. There’s no way I’m introducing him to any of you fools.)
Seeing that Kotone was about to argue back, I quickly cut her off.
“Originally, he was! My—”
“Kotone-chan, you’re still an only child, right? That’s never changed, has it?”
“—Sumie, you…”
I gave Kotone a light pat on the shoulder, then whispered in her ear, “Meet me by the bench next to the hallway outside the cafeteria at lunch.”
When lunchtime came, some of my friends asked me to join them to talk about Fudo-senpai, but I declined. Not only did I have a meeting with Kotone, but I had something even more important on my mind.
I grabbed my lunch and left the classroom. Sitting right in the middle of the bench by the hallway leading to the cafeteria, I waited. Soon, Kotone arrived.
“I’m here, Sumie…”
“Yeah, I just got here too. Have a seat, why don’t you?”
I gestured to the open spot next to me on the two-person bench.
“Sumie, what was that attitude in the classroom earlier?”
(Hah, does she seriously not get it? This girl really is an idiot.)
“Attitude? What? I’m just the same as always.”
“You know that Ken-nii was my stepbrother! And now that you found out he’s your cousin, you’re acting like—”
Sigh… She really doesn’t get it, does she?
“No, Kotone.Kenichi-san was your stepbrother, but now he’s mine. You’re just an outsider now, do you understand?”
“But, even so! How could you—”
“You were the one who told me not to tell anyone that Komada-senpai was your stepbrother.”
“…That’s because…”
“You said we’d stop being friends if I told anyone… right♪? Well, I don’t see any reason to stay friends with you anymore, so if you want to end it, that’s fine by me~”
I don’t need to keep pretending to be her friend anymore. She’s completely useless to me now.
“Hey!” I watched Kotone’s shocked reaction, looking down at her as my beloved Kenichi-kun walked out of the school building.
“Onii~san!!”
I waved at him energetically. Kenichi-kun looked in my direction and stopped walking, while Kotone froze, glancing back at him.
“Wait for me!”
I ignored Kotone, grabbed my lunch bag, and ran over to Kenichi-kun.
“Onii-san! I made a lunch filled with love just for you today~♡ Let’s eat together♪”
He glanced at my lunch, his face expressionless, but he did look at it briefly. Then, he turned and looked back at the dazed Kotone in the distance.
“Come on, forget about her and have lunch with me~?” I tugged on his sleeve, my voice sweet as I urged, “Let’s go quickly.” But Kenichi-kun pulled a brown envelope from his inner pocket.
“Sumie-san, could you do me a favor and give this to Komada-san?”
No, no, no! I don’t want to hear another girl’s name coming from Kenichi-kun’s mouth!!
“No! Don’t worry about that trash! You have me, Onii-san! Isn’t that enough!?”
I protested, stepping closer, but Kenichi-kun looked at me with cold eyes. Even though it stung, I pushed back.
“If you hand this to her, we can eat lunch together. Can I count on you?”
I couldn’t refuse. Reluctantly, I handed him my lunch bag, took the brown envelope, and hurried back to the trash—Kotone.
“Here! It’s from my Onii-san! Just take it already!”
I shoved the envelope into her hands and, glaring at the confused Kotone, warned her.
“And don’t ever go near my Kenichi-san again…”
With that, I grabbed Kenichi-kun’s arm and headed for the cafeteria.
“Ahhh~♡♪”
I purposefully held a single chopstick, creating an excuse to feed Kenichi-kun. I thought he’d refuse, but to my surprise, he accepted it easily, and my heart soared.
I alternated between feeding him and eating with the same chopstick, savoring the indirect kiss each time. It was like bliss—Kenichi-kun’s saliva was on the chopstick!♡
“How is it? Tasty?”
“Yeah, it’s really good…” Kenichi-kun’s expression was still the same, but watching him chew was just so cute, I could hardly stand it.
“Ahh, I could just eat you up…”
“Oh, don’t worry about me. You can have the rest, Sumie.”
I realized I’d let my inner thoughts slip and quickly denied it, flustered.
Of course, I’ll keep these chopsticks for later… they’ll be part of my nightly fun, a permanent treasure ♡.
