I felt a surge of excitement as I stood before Iketsuki, who was trembling in fear, kneeling in apology, waiting for his punishment.
“Now then, let’s have the condemned, Red Potato-san, listen to the story of a certain scum, Iketsuki.”
I turned around with an exaggerated gesture, smirking at the Red Dragon members behind me, and then faced Iketsuki to recount his crimes.
“Iketsuki, in your futile attempt to get back at me, you devised a plan to use women and money to incite those idiots from Red Dragon, whom you’ve known for a while, against me, didn’t you?”
“N-No! I didn’t do anything like that! I don’t know anything about it! They acted on their own!”
The Red Dragon members erupted in anger at Iketsuki’s betrayal, their shouts and curses filling the air. Among them, Ryuzaki’s fury was particularly intense, almost as if he was about to breathe fire.
“Ryusei, you bastard! Don’t think you’ll get away with this! I’ll hunt you down and crush you completely!”
“Hiiii!” Iketsuki tried to back away, but as Ryuzaki seemed ready to grab him, I struck him down.
[Gheh!] Two more hits to go.
I glanced around at the group with cold eyes…
“You all… I’m the one talking right now! Who said you could just butt in and join the conversation, ha?”
“Hiii! We’re so sorry!”
Ryuzaki and the Red Dragon members behind him bowed down at my feet.
I composed myself and prepared to move on to the next phase to confirm the charges.
“Well, Iketsuki, I already anticipated you’d try to make excuses. That’s why I have an audio recording of you that backs up your actions. Let’s all listen to it together.”
I switched my smartphone to speaker mode and pressed the green play button.
[…This is perfect. I’ve got everything under control, haha. I’m going to sic those dumb muscleheads on that arrogant stray dog and crush him completely!]
“And there you have it. How do you explain this, Iketsuki-kun~?”
Before Iketsuki could even wonder how I got the audio, he recognized his own voice and words. His face turned pale as he started trembling, while Ryuzaki and the others glared at him with bloodshot eyes, seething with anger.
“Ah, no… this… this is…”
“Let me educate you, you worthless piece of trash.”
“You’re going to be charged with abetting kidnapping, as you helped these guys abduct and assault Himeno. And then, those two…”
As I pointed towards the school gate, all eyes turned in that direction. They saw two adults in plain clothes, each holding one of Iketsuki’s former lackeys, who were now handcuffed and hanging their heads in shame.
“They were instructed by you to act as lookouts during Himeno’s abduction.”
“T-that’s got nothing to do with me! They did that on their own!”
[…Yeah, I have a plan to kick that mutt out of school, but we’ll need lookouts for the plan. I’m counting on you guys—it’s an easy job, right?]
“!?”
I presented another piece of audio evidence.
“And you had Himeno assaulted by the Red Dragon members.”
I felt a slight sting in my chest as I said this, but it quickly passed.
However, as soon as I finished speaking, Iketsuki seemed to realize something. He lifted his head abruptly and smirked.
“Ah, that’s right! Just like you said! So, I’m going to turn myself in! Yeah, I’ll surrender to the police, maybe end up in juvenile detention or something, huh?”
Thinking he found a way to avoid revenge or retribution from me and the Red Dragon by tarnishing his own record, Iketsuki seemed almost pleased with himself, not realizing he was making a hasty and foolish decision.
“Oh, you still don’t get it? You really are an idiot.”
“W-What!?”
“You’re talking about going to juvenile detention or a reform school, but don’t you realize that some of the Red Dragon members you just threw under the bus—saying you didn’t know or care about them—will probably end up in the same place?”
“Huh?” Iketsuki glanced around, confused.
“You said these guys are part of an organization, right? Well, detention centers and reform schools are full of people who’ve messed up, just like them. So, are you really aware of what might happen to you in there, after you just disrespected all of these guys?”
Iketsuki’s eyes, now desperate, turned to the Red Dragon members, but they all stared back with murderous intent. He scooted backward, still sitting on the ground.
“N-no, I… I…”
I leaned in close and whispered in his ear,
“But hey, if you get out early, I’ll throw you a big welcome-back party.”
As I finished, the plainclothes officers who had been holding Iketsuki’s lackeys signaled to several dozen policemen. They rushed into the schoolyard, surrounding both Red Dragon and Iketsuki.
However, as soon as the Red Dragon members realized the approaching figures were police officers, they eagerly raised their hands, almost racing to be arrested, shouting, “Please, arrest us quickly!”—anything to escape from me.
“I’ll let you guys join the party too if you finish your time early.”
(Though, I hope they all make it out alive…)
I watched Ryuzaki and the others being taken away with a devilish smile. Seeing my expression, their faces turned pale with fear, and they hurriedly dragged the police officers along as they rushed to get into the patrol cars.
Iketsuki, however, resisted until the very end, but finally agreed to be taken away when he was assured he’d be placed in a different patrol car from Ryuzaki and the others.
As for me, the police reviewed the footage I had recorded. They warned me about excessive self-defense and reprimanded me for escalating the situation, but that was the extent of it.
From the seized smartphones, the police uncovered a treasure trove of incriminating evidence: videos of rapes, emails detailing extortion, and a whole list of other crimes.
Iketsuki’s phone was no different, with numerous videos of his past sexual encounters. It seemed they were making money by selling these videos in illegal deals, funding their activities.
I kept the information we had analyzed for ourselves hidden from the police and handed over all the confiscated phones as evidence.
(Well, I got the information I really needed anyway.)
On a side note, Himeno’s videos were also found, including those of her with Iketsuki in a hotel, as well as the group rape videos involving Ryuzaki and others. Apparently, these videos, along with others featuring different women, had already been traded in the underground market and had started circulating in certain circles.
When my mother passed away, I wanted to repay the kindness I received from Himeno’s family, so I warned them about Iketsuki in a letter, fulfilling my minimal obligation.
As for my former childhood friend who chose not to trust me in the end, whatever fate befalls that piece of trash is no longer my concern.
Now, with my worthless former family, ex-childhood friend, Iketsuki, and those half-witted punks all out of the picture, they’ll never appear in front of me again. Not that it matters—Iketsuki and those punks are about to face a real hell behind bars.
I reviewed the report I received from Mifune-san, memorizing the necessary information. Then, I tore it into tiny pieces and scattered them into the wind.
Finally, the time has come. Just wait, I’ll use everything I have to drag you all down to hell one last time!
