I left the classroom after being called by the principal.
The room was buzzing with noise as I exited, but that teacher probably wouldn’t be able to keep the class under control. Maybe they’ll replace him with a new homeroom teacher soon. Well, I’ve got more important things to take care of right now. The fate of some minor figure isn’t my concern.
[Knock, knock]
“Come in! Please, enter!”
When I opened the door, I was greeted by the sight of the principal and vice-principal, both bowing low on the floor, along with Iketsuki’s father, who was also kneeling in apology.
“Sigh… What is the meaning of this? I told you I wouldn’t accept any apologies, didn’t I? And what are you doing, principal? Why are you involved in this?”
I sighed in disdain at the pathetic display before me.
“P-Please, we’re begging you! Komada… no, Fudo-kun!”
Just like yesterday, Iketsuki’s father bowed his head to a younger man, while the principal and vice-principal, both much older than me, shamelessly knelt before me, pleading.
“If you use your influence on society, it could damage this school’s reputation…”
Behind the principal, the balding vice-principal also kept his head down, muttering something desperately.
I figured the school had probably been flooded with complaints after people identified it from yesterday’s post on social media and the government website. Wow.
Or maybe the Minister himself decided to apply some pressure on the school to score points with me?
When I glanced at Iketsuki’s father, I noticed he was trembling uncontrollably, still kneeling on the floor.
Perhaps his hospital had been pressured by its medical partners, or maybe his guaranteed backing for the mayoral election had been revoked?
“Well, I might consider letting it go if you’re willing to let me return the humiliation and bullying I endured at ten—no, a hundred—times the scale, just like you did with Iketsuki.”
Iketsuki’s father let out a whimper while trembling in his kneeling position, but the principal and vice-principal looked at me as if I were their savior, smiling with relief and clutching at my feet.
“R-Really? If that’s all it takes! The insults and violence directed at you, Fudo-sama, are unforgivable! Such scum deserves to be struck down by the hammer of justice!”
“Exactly what the principal said! Those kinds of societal trash should be punished as you see fit, Fudo-sensei!”
Their words echoed my sentiments, but hearing them from these cowards, who were watching everything unfold from the safety of their positions, made me angry. It didn’t even seem like something educators should be saying. These people, who only cared about themselves, were everywhere.
Disgusted by the principal and vice-principal, I glanced over at Iketsuki’s father…
“So? What about you, Director of Iketsuki Hospital?”
Iketsuki’s father, still trembling, responded.
“I-If I allow Fudo-sama to have his revenge as he sees fit, w-would you perhaps speak to the Ministry of Health to lift the sanctions on our hospital?”
Hearing this, the principal hastily bowed lower, echoing the same plea.
“C-Could you also help clear up the misunderstanding with the Ministry of Education on our behalf?”
“Well, who knows? I discussed my situation with the Minister of Education, but I don’t have any connections with the other ministers, so I can’t say for sure.”
“W-What!?”
I coldly addressed the panicked old men.
“Tell me, do any of you have the right to ask me for favors? If you do, I’d love to hear an explanation that actually convinces me.”
“T-That is…”
I gave them a freezing stare and spoke in an icy tone.
“Oh, you’re free to explain. But if you say something that ruins my mood… you know what will happen, right?”
“”…””
The old men were left speechless, sobbing as they continued bowing before me.
“Oh, and Iketsuki’s father, aren’t the parents of Iketsuki’s cronies here today too? Did you promise them that if this conversation with me goes well, their problems might get resolved as well?”
“!? T-That…”
He muttered something incoherent, unable to respond after I had seen through him so easily.
“Well, fine. Bring them here, now.”
Time to corner them all at once~.
