No one in the classroom could believe what had just happened. The lowest-ranked, outcast kid in the class had suddenly lashed out at the class boss and completely overpowered him.
The news spread quickly, and even students from other classes gathered to witness the spectacle. Iketsuki and his lackeys, who had been humiliated into groveling before everyone, were forbidden by me from going to the infirmary. They were forced to attend class in their puke-stained, foul-smelling uniforms, trembling from the pain in their battered bodies.
That day’s lessons felt like a funeral. Even the teacher, noticing Iketsuki and his group’s strange behavior and the stench wafting from their soiled clothes, grimaced and suggested they go to the infirmary.
“Sensei, Iketsuki-kun and the others just tripped. They’re fine~”
I said, raising my hand, dismissing the need for a visit to the infirmary.
Iketsuki and his lackeys looked like they wanted to protest, but when I glared at them, they quickly averted their eyes, staring down at the floor.
“W-Well… but Komada, judging by their condition—”
I shot the teacher a sharp look and spoke in a low voice.
“Sensei, remember when I was in the same condition? You accepted Iketsuki-kun’s words, just like I am now. So, are you going to change your stance just because the roles are reversed?”
When I said that, the teacher couldn’t argue back. With an awkward expression, they turned back to the blackboard and didn’t say another word.
After that, during every break, I summoned Iketsuki and his lackeys to the restroom, forcing them to kneel in the middle of the bathroom while I punched each of them five times.
The screams and sobbing that echoed from the bathroom attracted the attention of curious onlookers, including both upperclassmen and underclassmen, who gathered outside to see what was happening. When the bell rang and I casually walked out of the bathroom humming, the crowd parted like the Red Sea, and people chuckled at the sight of Iketsuki and his gang limping out behind me, crying and in tatters.
Apparently, my strength had increased significantly. When I secretly tested my grip strength during P.E., I ended up breaking the measuring device. My grip strength was easily over 150 kilograms.
When homeroom ended, Iketsuki and his crew grabbed their belongings in a panic and fled the classroom as quickly as they could.
A few classmates who had been watching this came over to me, wearing forced smiles and trying to butter me up.
“Haha, serve them right! That was satisfying to watch!”
“Yeah, Komada-kun, you’re amazing!”
“Totally! It’s so annoying thinking about how that loser used to boss us around.”
I shot them a cold glare and responded bluntly.
“Ha? From my perspective, you guys are just as guilty. If any of you get bullied by Iketsuki and his crew for mocking them, I’ll ignore it, got that? So, if you’re going to badmouth them, be ready for the consequences. Oh, and don’t talk to me from tomorrow on. I mean, that’s how it’s always been, right? Haha.”
With those words, I brushed them off and left the classroom.
Even though I walked home at a normal pace, I found myself at my front door in no time. Standing there was my former childhood friend.
I tried to ignore her and head inside, but—
“W-Wait! Please, I need to talk to you!”
“I’ve got nothing to say. Actually, who are you?”
“W-What? That’s so harsh… How could you say something like that?”
“Harsh? You’re with the guy who bullies me, you knew why I was getting bullied, and yet you just watched. I’m the one who should be asking how you felt about that.”
My words made her face turn pale as she started to tremble.
“T-That’s not it… with Iketsuki-kun, it’s not like that…”
“Not like that? Then what? Friends with benefits? A mistress? Whatever, I don’t care. It’s got nothing to do with me.”
I tried to walk past her, but she clung to my legs.
“N-No! I… I care about you, Ken-chan…”
“Oh, right. If you want to go back to being childhood friends, why don’t you return my diary to how it was before? Then, maybe I’ll think about it.”
Her face fell into despair as she remembered what had happened yesterday.
“Well then, until you bring it back, don’t bother talking to me. And from tomorrow, Iketsuki’s going to have a rough time, so whether you’re his girlfriend, FWB, or mistress, make sure to support him, okay? Haha. Goodbye~”
With a cheerful smile, I waved at her and went inside the house.
After entering, I took off my shoes in the entryway. In the living room, my so-called stepsister was sitting with her elbow propped up, glaring at me with an annoyed expression.
I ignored the trash and started heading to my room when she called out.
“Hey, I need to talk to you. What did you do to Shizuku-chan? I can’t forgive you for it…”
I turned and glared back at her. Startled by my change in demeanor, she quickly averted her eyes.
“I have nothing to say to you.”
With that, I dismissed her. She muttered something in the living room, but I ignored her and returned to my room. I spread out my textbooks and notebooks on my desk and immersed myself in studying.
Perhaps because my mindset had shifted since yesterday, the contents of the textbooks seemed to sink into my mind instantly. In just three hours, I had memorized everything in the books.
[Knock, knock]
“Hey, dinner’s ready…”
[Click]
“Yeah, I’m coming.”
I replied, leaving my room. As I passed by my former stepsister and started down the stairs, she muttered softly,
“That picture on your desk… what happened to it? Where did it go?”
I answered her honestly.
“Oh, I didn’t need it anymore, so I got rid of it. Why?”
Without waiting to see her stunned reaction, I continued down to the living room.
“Things you don’t need should be thrown away, right? Haha.”
