I made a small victory gesture. Today was the sixty days of training. I had finally managed to cast both 〈Thunderbolt〉and〈Body Strengthening〉 at the same time. Being able to cast both spells simultaneously had been my goal all long. I was so happy, so much so I wanted to dance in joy.

“That said, I truly didn’t expect you’d be able to easily surpass your goal on the sixth day… To be honest, at first I thought you would only be able to master elementary level magic at best.”

“Huh?”

“In order to cast intermediate level magic, you need to be able to use parallel thinking to some degree. This parallel thinking… Us, pixies, can learn it within about a week, but it seems to be extremely difficult for many humans. I believe only mid-tier mages could cast intermediate level magic without a staff.”

Mid-tier mages… That means, this is definitely not something I should be able to achieve within one week, right? No, more importantly…

“St-Staff?? What staff??”

Master mimicked the way I was speaking while telling me his logical argument. No, his logic really sounded reasonable. However, the fact that he was saying something that actually made sense just made it even more irritating to me. 

“That being said, now that you’ve mastered magic, you will be able to fight at middle-range. I will give you a special staff on the day you depart.”

“As expected of Master! I knew I could count on you!”

“Look at you, changing your heart so easily…”

Master said while smiling wryly. 

“Anyway, that’s it for today. You should rest and take it easy.””

It was still bright outside and it was still too early to end the training, so could it be…

“Are you expelling me?! No! You can’t! I still have so much I want to learn from you!”

“Just how did you arrive at that conclusion…? No. You… Have you actually gone around and explored this town properly in the past six days?”

“Huh?”

Of course…I haven’t.

For food, I had either received ingredients from the old man and I sometimes received food from that elf woman. I didn’t have any need to go into town. In fact, I didn’t know they had something that could be called a ‘town’ in this place?

“Hey! You! You were thinking of something rude, weren’t you?”!

“N-No, not at all, I don’t know what you’re talking about!”

This person… He can read minds?!

“No. You’re just way too easy to read. I can tell what you’re thinking just by looking at your face.”

“Ugh…”

Indeed. A lot of people had told me the same, but I couldn’t do anything about it since I didn’t know what made my face so easy to read. 

“Well, back to the main point. We do have something that could be called a town here. Since you’ve come all the way to a pixie village, you should definitely take a look around the town. I mean, it’s not every day you get to visit a pixie village, right?”

“If Master said so….”

And so, since the training session was finished before noon, I decided to visit the pixie village for a bit.

“But, where’s the pixie village?”

I was left alone in front of the training grounds, feeling completely lost.

What should I do? I don’t know where it is.

The forest was covered in thick mist, so if I explored the forest without a clear destination, I might get lost instead. My only support, Grandpa Pixie, said he had something to do and went off somewhere without giving me any clue of where the pixie village was. 

Ah, that’s right. Since it’s a village, there should be a lot of people there. 

“〈Magic Detection〉”

I detected many reactions coming from the north. That must be where the village was. Since following the road would be a hassle, I cast Body Strengthening on myself and charged through the forest. After about a minute of running, I started to see what seemed to be buildings from between the trees.

“Is this the pixie village…?”

After pushing through the bushes, I saw several stalls. The closest stall to me was selling vegetables and fruits. That incredibly delicious peach was on sale too. The other stalls sold various stuff. They didn’t only sell fresh produce here, but it seemed this place was more like a shopping street than a market though.

“…Oi, look at that. Is that the human they’ve been talking about?”

“Huh? A human? There’s no way a human… Whoa! There really is a human!”

“Idiot! Keep your voice down! Anyway, I heard Sage-sama invited him here to help us conquer the dungeon.”

“Seriously? After all that happened to us because of humans, why would Sage-sama invite another human to our place?”

….Just as I thought. The other pixies didn’t have the best impression about me. Well, their reaction was justified though. Maybe I should’ve waited until Master was finished with his business and visited the village together with him? 

“Huh? You… You’re that human from back then!”

But suddenly, someone called out to me from behind. Turning around, I saw a familiar-looking pixie with red hair. He was the son of the leader of the exploration team who had spoken to me on my first day here… His name should be Gyle

“What brings you here today? I thought you were being trained by Sage-sama…?”

Gyle stared at me suspiciously for a moment. 

No, no! I’m not slacking off! I didn’t get expelled either, okay?!

…..Right? I’m not, right…?

“Master told me that since I’m already here, I should take a look around the pixie village. So I’m here to look around, but… Wow. This place is really incredible. I didn’t expect it to be this prosperous.”

“I see… But isn’t the human town more prosperous?”

“Huh?”

“I’m not saying this out of spite or anything, but when I look at the tools and clothes you humans use, it feels like your civilization is more advanced than ours.”

….It’s true. For someone like me, who is accustomed to Japan’s advanced civilization, this small town doesn’t seem like much. But, that’s not the main point here.

“You’re wrong. It’s truly amazing that you guys are able to develop the town this much in just 100 years.”

“Is that so? You really think we’re amazing?”

“Yeah. I do. I honestly think you guys are amazing.”

Well, considering the pixies can use magic, maybe this is not all that surprising, but I will keep that thought to myself. I have a feeling Gyle is going to get frustrated at me if I say that out loud. 

“I-I see… Well, since you’ve praised us so much, how about I give you a tour of the town?”

“Really?! Please! I would love that!”

“It can’t be helped… Come on, follow me.”
