I Want a Girlfriend who Won’t Betray Me - Chapter 7
Cultural Festival (2)
Kazuki’s POV
The second day starts at 10AM with an announcement from the student council president…for some reason, the students are already lined up in the hallway. Why is that?
All eight tables are always full. Even though we already have four people handling the service, we need to add another person to help.
The person who guides the customers to their seats is whoever is available at that time, but for some reason, all the orders are directed at me. I can’t handle them alone, so I ask others for help, but some of the customers insist on waiting for me. This slows down the table turnover significantly.
After I’m finally done from my shift, Kanbayashi comes over to me.
“Good work. It must have been tough, Shinonome. Being a popular guy is hard, huh?”
He laughs as he says so, but I wish he would consider my situation, too.
“Sorry to ask when you’re already tired, but could you wear the placard again and walk around the school with Kisaragi-san like yesterday?”
“Got it.”
“Yeah.”

Wakana’s POV
Fufufu, serving customers together, walking around the school with the placards around our necks together. We’ll also have lunch together after this. I’m so happy.
Just like yesterday, we walked around the school for forty minutes. No, today it actually took fifty minutes. That’s because a lot of people, even visitors, kept stopping Kazuki to talk to him.
After walking around the school, we return to the classroom and give the placard back to Kanbayashi.
“Thanks to you two, we’re getting plenty of customers. You really helped us out.”
“I’m glad we could help. So, can we head to lunch now?”
“Yeah, of course. Enjoy yourselves.”
As we leave the classroom,
“Hey, Wakana, I’m meeting my dad at the school gate at 2PM.”
“Eh, really? Can I come with you?”
“I don’t mind. I’m sure Dad will be happy to see you too.”
“Really!?”
After that, just like yesterday, we buy our favourite food from the festival stalls and eat together. Then, as we are about to look around and check out the events, Takayuki suddenly appears in front of us.
“Wakana, do you want to walk around the festival with me?”
“Eh?”
“I’m sure it’s fun hanging out with Shinonome, but I’m still your boyfriend. I never agreed to break up with you. So, would you walk around the festival with me?”

Kazuki’s POV
This guy, Goto, he seems to be quite a gentleman. He is asking Wakana kindly, he is not forcing her at all.
“Wakana, let’s go around the festival with me. You spent the whole day with Shinonome yesterday, didn’t you?”
“But…”
“Wakana, Goto’s right. You should go with him. My dad is coming anyway.”
“……”
I walk away as I say so.
I have no idea what Wakana did after that, but at 2PM, I meet up with my father at the school gate and take him to my class café.
My father is tall too, he is even taller than me. Naturally, the two of us walking down the hallway together stands out. When we arrive at the classroom, I speak to the student at the reception desk, get our tickets, and enter the classroom.
“Oh, so this is the classroom where Kazuki studies? It’s nicely decorated.”
“Yes, thanks to Shinonome-kun, we were able to put up all the decorations in the high places.”
A girl who guides us to our seats says so.
“I see, so Kazuki has been helpful?”
“Yes!”
The girl happily chats with my father for a bit before taking our order and heading to the kitchen area.
“Hey, hey, Shinonome-kun’s dad is really handsome, isn’t he?”
“But doesn’t Shinonome-kun look more like his mom?”
“Yeah, definitely. He doesn’t look like his dad.”
“I heard a rumor that Shinonome-kun’s mom is the famous actress Kitagawa Toko.”
“Eh!?”
“Calm down!”
“His dad is worked in the US before, right?”
“If we act now, we might still have a chance.”
“Yeah, yeah!”
I can hear you, ladies. But seriously, who’s been leaking private information about my family?
After a little while, my father goes home. He seems really happy, it’s probably because he thinks everyone relies on me.
After that, I’m alone, but I don’t feel like going back to the classroom. There’s still an hour and a half until the festival ends. I wander around by myself and end up in the same corner of the gym as yesterday, listening to the theatre performances and the light music club.
“Fufu, found you.”
“Ah, Yatsugashira-san. Are you alone too?”
“Yeah, I don’t have a boyfriend. Hey, Shinonome-kun, let’s be friends.”
“I don’t mind being friends.”
“Really? Can we meet during weekends?”
“Umm, jumping straight to that is a bit much.”
“You’re right. Let’s take our time and walk slowly together then.”
“……”
What does she even mean by that?
The performance in the gym ends about thirty minutes before the festival officially ends. As Yatsugashira-san and I step out of the gym, I see Wakana and Goto walking together, holding hands.
They actually look good together. Wakana doesn’t seem uncomfortable either. Maybe she still has feelings for Goto after all.
“Kisaragi-san and Goto-kun from our class are really close, you know. I don’t know how far they’ve gone, but judging by the way they’re holding hands, they seem pretty far along.”
“The way they’re holding hands?”
“Yeah, they have their fingers intertwines. That’s what they call holding hands like lovers. Shinonome-kun, you really have no experience in this, do you?”
“You sure say things bluntly…but, well, I guess you’re right.”
“Then, do you want to do that with me?”
“Umm, I’m not really comfortable with people who suddenly say things like that.”
“Ahaha, of course, I was just joking. Well then, shall we head back to the classroom?”
I don’t really like this person.
