Summary

When I return from the US, what awaits me is the betrayal of the girls I have fallen in love with.

My name is Kazuki Shinonome. When I was in my first year of middle school, my parents were transferred to the US for work, so I moved there with them.

I was supposed to stay in the US for two years, but because of my parents’ work, I have to stay there for another year. So, instead of returning to Japan in my third year of middle school, I end up returning back to Japan in mu first year of high school.

By chance, my childhood friend, Wakana Kisaragi, is also attending the same school I’m transferring to. At first, I spend my days happily, feeling nostalgic for our past, but then I find out that Wakana already has a boyfriend.

Even though I know it’s wrong for me to feel this way, I’m still shocked when I find out about it. In my vulnerable state, a girl named Otoe Yatsugashira approaches me, and we start dating. However, I later find out that she is in a sex friend relationship with another guy.

After that, for some reason, no one in my class would talk to me. So, I end up spending my time alone in the classroom. I eat lunch by myself in the cafeteria and go to the library alone after school.

After some time, I start talking to a girl who sits right beside me in class. Gradually, we get closer with each other, and before long, we started dating.

However, in the end, she also betrayed me.

This is the story of my high school life.

I’m enjoying the story so far and I feel bad for the MC. He’s pretty likeable and I think he acts naturally and rationally in most situations, so they’re relatable and easy to get behind. He’s not at fault whatsoever for the behaviour of the girls he gets tangled up with but is of course affected by it. The way this is written makes me feel like he’s going to pull through in the end and won’t end up a broken man, but only time will tell for sure.

I’m terms of the NTR with the childhood friend:

I don’t think you can really classify what his childhood friend did as NTR since they were never in a romantic relationship together. He is justified in being upset about being lied to about the depth of her relationship with the boyfriend, and also being strung along just to keep other girls away until she could make the switch on her schedule. If she dumped her boyfriend or at the very least stopped fucking him as soon as she’d decided to switch to the MC she’d be fine, but she was trying to have it both ways for a while and that’s just not OK.
The MC did a good job explaining how that affected him and didn’t forgive her, which I was glad to see, but he left a door open to potentially talk in the future which is a rare example of his actions I think he will live to regret.
It was also refreshing that he even told his mom about what happened since usually parent characters don’t know or care about what the kids are experiencing. This probably will pay off in the future since the parents all used to know each other.

For the first girlfriend NTR:

Girlfriend NTR

This was definitely “real” NTR, with all the damage that goes with it. This started with her college-aged (adult) ex boyfriend drugging and raping her (while recording it on his phone), then followed with blackmail to create an ongoing affair. She had dumped this guy when he was caught cheating and he never wanted to break up, so he used this crime to force things forward.
Of course the initial encounter was not her fault at all, but everything after that was entirely avoidable if she went directly to the police instead of waiting to do so until after the MC found out.
She was banging the guy behind the MC’s back multiple times a week for months. It was mentioned that she was enjoying herself when they were cheating, even though she felt guilty after the act. She dragged it out because it suited her even though she wouldn’t admit it.
MC was devastated and never got a chance for an explanation or closure. Additional trauma points allocated because she was his first sex partner, so he probably also now feels inadequate because she was banging her ex a lot more often than him. Hopefully the MC got a full panel of STD tests…
The police report ended with the rapist guy going to prison for 7 years since she’s a minor and he’s an adult.

It’s too early to comment on the last girl mentioned in the story description but

it was clear from the beginning that she was scheming in different ways to try and get closer to him. A lot of deceptive behaviour which is concerning so it wouldn’t be surprising if she really did turn out to NTR him again.
It’s pure speculation but my bet right now is that she is the girl the rapist/blackmailer guy was cheating with and that she was in love with him. I think that she’s trying to hurt the girl who reported the rapist, but because she’s out of reach she’s settling for destroying the guy she loves instead. So he gets to be a victim yet again even though he’s just a proxy.
