Chapter 02: Making of a Yandere
“Yu-kun!”
Right after school, Airi runs over to my seat.
There’s no need to rush since we’re in the same classroom. She’s like an eager puppy.
“Hm? What’s up?”
“I want to practice for a date!”
Ah, she’s talking about yesterday.
“Airi, you don’t need to do that. I found a surefire way to win over your crush.”
“Eh!? Really?”
“Yeah, your first love will definitely come true!”
“Yay!”
◇◆◇◆◇◆
“First, you write a letter. Put it somewhere like the postbox at the person’s house.”
“I see.”
Airi nods.
“The content should be all about praising their appearance and the finer details. And fill the blank space with your affection! Most importantly, don’t write your name, and send it every day without getting caught.”
“Isn’t that kind of scary?”
Airi asks anxiously.
“It’s definitely a bit scary. But that’s what makes it effective. Ever heard of the suspension bridge effect?”
I’m not entirely sure if this applies here, but it probably does.
“That makes sense!”
“Well, the issue is whether you know where this person lives…”
I glance at Airi.
“I know!”
That’s good then.
“And after a week of sending letters, call them out after school and confess.”
This has to be a sure success.
If they’ve been wondering who’s behind the letters, and then find out it’s a stunningly beautiful girl, how could they not fall for her?
“Will that really work?”
“Don’t look so worried. You’re cute, Airi. Besides, after going this far, there’s no way you’ll be turned down, right?”
“C-cute, you say… that’s…”
Airi hides her face with her hands, her ears turning red with embarrassment.
“Yes, yes, you’re cute. But remember, what happens after success is also important.”
“Fue?”
Don’t make such a silly response.
“Listen, if your boyfriend talks to, chats with, or even looks at other girls, you get angry.”
“Eh? Isn’t that a bit unreasonable?”
“It might seem that way. But that’s the point! Besides, you wouldn’t like it if your crush seemed happy with other girls, right?”
I say it’s the point, but even I’m not entirely sure why it’s good.
Well, Yandere is popular, right? It must be for a reason.
“I wouldn’t like that.”
“Then do it. When you get angry, don’t yell. Just dim your eyes and quietly confront him.”
“That sounds difficult.”
I thought so. I’ve never seen Airi angry.
“Just try your best from now on. Finally, occasionally ‘imprisoning’ your boyfriend would be a good touch.”
“I-Imprisoning!? That’s a crime!”
Yeah, definitely a crime.
But then again, if she doesn’t ‘imprison’ him, is it really Yandere?
“If you get permission from his parents, it should be fine, right?”
That would technically make it not a crime, but it’s unlikely Airi can get that close to her boyfriend’s parents just yet.
“Oh, then I could imprison him anytime.”
Eh? Is Airi already on good terms with her crush’s parents?
Could it be that she’s been making moves before consulting me? Strategically winning over the people around him.
Do I even need to be involved anymore?
“Well, I guess that’s all the advice I can give. Do your best, Airi.”
“Yess!”
Airi nods with a smile.
