“Nishida, we’ve finished arranging the desks for now, but is there anything else to do?”

“Oh! Thanks! We’ve pretty much finished preparing, so there’s nothing else to do. You guys can relax with Wakai-san and the others.”

“I see. Well then, if anything comes up again, call us.”

Ryota and I finished the task given to us in about thirty minutes and took a break as Nishida suggested.

“Shimura-san, thanks for looking after Mana.”

“No problem at all. Manamin is my friend, after all!”

“I see. Hey, Shimura-san, and Ryota too. Mana and I were planning to tour the classrooms alone today, but since Mana is in a wheelchair and it’s difficult for her to move around the stairs, could you two accompany us?”

I had been thinking about this since morning.

With only me alone, she just can’t get around the stairs.

Our school building is old and doesn’t have elevators, so I need the help of two people. If they refuse, there’s nothing I can do, but I’d like them to help me if possible.

“Okay?”

“I see, after all, you want to go around together… huh?”

“Ryota, you’re okay with it too, right? Even if we can’t be alone today, we can always go on dates in the future.”

“Well, that’s true. I can’t refuse a request from a best friend.”

“Is it really okay? For us to take up your time together?”

“Of course! Besides, I’ve been feeling lonely since I haven’t been able to see you, Manamin, so I wanted to spend more time together!”

“Ryota, are you really okay with it?”

“Huh? I said it’s fine. Sana agrees too, and it’s a request from Sora, I can’t refuse that.”
As he said that, Ryota put his arm around my shoulder.

Then he whispered in my ear.

“Besides, I have a feeling Ishii might cause trouble today. You wouldn’t be able to handle it alone. Don’t tell Mana-san though.”

Apparently, that’s what Ryota thinks.

During the week we were off, Ishii was gossiping about us more than anyone else.
Now that he knows we’re back at school today, he’s definitely going to mess with us.

If we try to run away while pushing a wheelchair, we won’t get far, and who knows what he might do.

That’s why Ryota and the others are here to be our shield and fend off Ishii.

“I see, that makes sense. Ishii does seem pretty fixated on Mana, so it’s a possibility.”

“Right? So, it’s easier for us to stay with you guys than to worry unnecessarily.”

“Got it. I’ll take you up on your offer then.”

“Leave it to me.”

Ryota said confidently, puffing out his chest.

Yeah, that’s true.

Since that incident, Ishii has been hostile towards me.

Seeing Mana in this state, it wouldn’t be surprising if he decided to pick a fight.

“So, once again, I’m counting on both of you today. I want Mana to enjoy the day.”

“By the way, do Sora-kun and I have any duties today?”

Mana’s question was answered immediately by Shimura-san.

“You two don’t have anything scheduled. We didn’t know if you’d even be able to come today. Plus, Ryota and I don’t have any duties today either! We’ve been staying late every day to prepare, so everyone gave us permission to enjoy today. So, we’ll be together all day!”

“I see. That’s good.”

“Exactly. So, let’s have lots of fun today!”

“Yes!”

It seems that Mana has really taken a liking to Shimura-san.

Usually, she wouldn’t get so close to anyone other than me.

It might be because Shimura-san has figured out our secret, but still, it’s unusual.

While I was thinking about that, someone called out from behind.

“Tenshin, Wakai, come to the staff room for a moment.”

It was our homeroom teacher, Abe-sensei.

“Sorry, we’ll be back in a bit. See you two later.”

“Alright, we’ll be waiting here.”
