I tried to confess my feelings to the girl I like, but I got too excited and ended up proposing. Was her response OK?! ~ - Chapter 43
Episode 43
“I finished changing my clothes. Let’s go quickly.”
“You don’t have to rush so much…”
It is 7:00am in the morning.
Mana, excited for her first day back at school and the school festival, is in high spirits since this early hour.
“It can’t be helped. It’s the last school festival, right? It’s impossible not to be excited. So, let’s get going.”
“Alright, alright. Then let’s go to the reception desk and then head outside.”
“Please hurry up!”
“Alright, let’s head to school. Why are Ryota and the others here?”
“I heard Manamin was coming to school, so we came to pick her up!”
As I exited the hospital entrance, I found Ryota and Shimura-san talking to Mana.
“Sorry about this. I did say it’s early in the morning and it might be a bother, but she wouldn’t listen, so I decided that she should come along too.”
“Well, it’s fine.”
“Then let’s go quickly! It’s been so long! I’m really glad you’re feeling better.”
“Sora-kun mentioned that you both came to visit. I’m really sorry for causing you worry…”
“If Manamin’s feeling better, then I’m okay with it! Besides, there’s no need to apologize for that!”
Mana and Shimura-san are chatting happily in front of Ryota and me.
I was really glad to be back to normal.
“Mana-san, I’m glad you’re feeling better. Are you discharged from the hospital already, even though you’re still in a wheelchair?”
“No. I have special permission to go out today, but I’m still hospitalized. And even though I may seem energetic on the surface, I still carry deep wounds in my heart. So, I plan to proceed cautiously for now.”
“I see. You couldn’t suddenly start walking outside after being bedridden for a week. Well, at least it’s good for now. I didn’t want to see your face like that anymore.”
“Was it really that bad?”
“It was. You looked so dead that we thought your misfortune might transfer to us just by looking at you.”
“Huh… Really? Personally, I thought I was pretending to be fine.”
“Haha, not at all. If you were trying to hide it, then you’re terrible at acting.”
It’s been a while since we laughed like this.
Thinking about it, maybe I wasn’t feeling well after all.
“Hey, you two, hurry up! We’re going ahead!”
“Oh no, Sana is getting mad! Hey Sora, let’s go quickly!”
“Huh? Oh, wait a minute!”
Ryota suddenly started running, and I got caught up and started running too.
When we arrived at school, there was a big signboard at the gate.
“Wow! Sora-kun, look! It’s the school festival!”
“Yeah, it is. But still, there are so many people even though it’s not even eight o’clock yet.”
“They’re setting up the stalls outside today. If they don’t set them up quickly, they won’t make it for the second day.”
“Is that so? I usually came after eight, so I didn’t know.”
“Really? I always thought that Sora-kun worked hard to prepare every year.”
“No way, Manamin. There’s no way this guy would do that, right? He’s just excited because he’s with Manamin this year.”
“Hehe, is that so? Did Sora -kunwant to show me his cool side?”
“Huh! Th-that’s true, but… Hey, Ryota! Don’t say unnecessary things!”
To distract myself from embarrassment, I jumped on Ryota and nudged him with my elbow.
“Ouch, that hurts, sorry. Sana! Help me out here!”
“No way. This is Ryota’s fault, so just take it quietly.”
“Aww…”
“Hehe.”
Mana was laughing happily as she looked at me.
“Um, shouldn’t we go to the classroom soon? I really want to see.”
“Yeah, you’re right. Let’s go then.”
I’ll apologize to everyone as soon as we get to the classroom.
I’ll apologize for leaving everything to them for a week while I, as a member of the planning committee, was absent.
And then, I’ll help with the final preparations as much as I can.
“Oh, Tenshin! You made it today!”
“Yeah, good morning, Nishida.”
The first person to greet us when we arrived at the classroom was Ren Nishida, who had suggested doing a takoyaki stand.
We had several meetings since his proposal got approved, so we had become quite friendly.
After Nishida, everyone in the class started coming up to us one by one.
“Everyone, um… I’m really sorry for leaving everything to you guys for a whole week!”
There was no silence in the classroom. Instead, everyone started reacting one after another.
“It’s okay! You were absent for so long, and Wakai-san is in a wheelchair. It must have been tough, right? It’s understandable! But you’ll have to work extra hard today!”
Following Nishida’s words, everyone else also expressed their concerns for us.
“Yeah, leave it to us. We’ll do whatever we can. And of course, for Mana too.”
“Since I’m in this condition, if there’s anything I can do sitting down, I’d like to help.”
“Got it. Then Sora, set up chairs and tables for the customers. Wakai-san, since you don’t seem to have anything to do right now, you can rest with Shimura-san, it’s okay.”
“Understood. Ryota, do you need a hand?”
“I’m good. I’ve finished all the tasks I was assigned.”
With that, Nishida and the others went back to their preparations.
“Well, let’s get started too. Since Nishida said that, Mana, you should take it easy as well. Shimura-san, I’ll leave Mana to you.”
“Leave it to me!”
“Thank you very much. Then I’ll count on you.”
With that, we finished apologizing to everyone and joined the final preparations.
Mana seemed very happy, and for now, it seemed like we didn’t need to worry.
I hope the rest of the day goes smoothly without any trouble.
