I tried to confess my feelings to the girl I like, but I got too excited and ended up proposing. Was her response OK?! ~ - Chapter 23
Episode 23
“Feed me the porridge!”
…Huh?
“You’re eating it right now, aren’t you? What do you mean?”
Feed her the porridge? But she’s already eating. I don’t get it.
“N-No. It’s not that I don’t want to eat the porridge, it’s just that, umm… I want you to, um… feed it to me!”
“Oh, I see. You want me to feed you. …Eh?!”
Finally understanding, I let out a voice I don’t usually use.
But why would Mana ask for something like that?
She doesn’t usually ask for such things, or rather, she never does.
“Oh, I get it. So you want me to feed you.”
“Is that not okay? But earlier, you said you’d listen to my requests…”
Her voice trembled slightly as she looked up at me with those big eyes.
“Oh, no, it’s fine. I got it. So, can I have the spoon?”
I took the spoon offered by Mana and scooped up some porridge.
“S-So, here… ‘ahh.'”
I brought the spoon closer to Mana’s mouth. Slowly, I fed her the porridge.
This is embarrassing! But it’s a request from Mana, something she doesn’t usually do. I have to put aside my embarrassment.
“How is it? Delicious?”
“…Y-Yes, it’s delicious.”
Mana’s face turned crimson as she nestled into her pillow.
It seems Mana was embarrassed too.
“If you’re so embarrassed, should we stop? I’m feeling pretty embarrassed too.”
“No, I haven’t finished eating yet!”
Why is Mana so cute?
Just one word from her, and I find myself even more captivated.
“Alright, let’s finish eating then. ‘Ahh.'”
“Yes…”
Although Mana doesn’t usually do this kind of thing, she’s sick now, so maybe her mind isn’t working properly.
After a bit of chatting, Mana finished all the porridge. It seemed her head was starting to clear up a bit, as she blushed and hid in her covers again.
“We should probably sleep soon. Mana, make sure to rest and get better soon.”
Mana peeked out from under her covers again.
“Where will you sleep, Sora-kun? You were sitting on a chair earlier, weren’t you?”
Mana, it’s because you wouldn’t let me leave the chair.
I glanced at her with a meaningful look, but of course, she didn’t catch it, just continuing to stare at me with a puzzled expression.
Haha, there’s no way she’d understand.
“I’ll sleep in my bed as usual.”
It’s not ideal to be in the same room with someone who has a cold, but we’ve been together for a while now, so it doesn’t matter anymore.
“Well, then, can I ask you for one more favor?”
“Sure. What will you ask me next?”
When I said that with a slight grin, as if remembering something, Mana’s face, and not just her face but her ears as well, turned bright red.
“Stop being so mean already! If you’re going to do that, then I’ll stop relying on you, Sora-kun!”
“Huh? Ah, I’m sorry. That wasn’t my intention.”
“Sora-kun, who’s always so mean, I dislike you just a tiny bit.”
“Hey, I said sorry~. Please cheer up, okay~…”
After a few minutes of apologizing to Mana, she finally cheered up.
Well, it’s already late, so I really should go to sleep soon.
“So, what’s the favor?”
“Oh, right. I forgot because of Sora-kun teasing me.”
“So I’m sorry about that, okay?”
“Hehe, it’s fine now. Anyway, about the favor…”
Mana started to fidget hesitantly.
“Yeah, go ahead and tell me?”
“Well, um, I want you to hold my hand while I sleep! No, I mean, can we sleep together…? No, forget that! Anyway, can you hold my hand?”
I felt like she was about to drop a bombshell, but oh well.
“That’s an easy request, or rather, I’d even want to ask you for it.”
Saying so, Mana turned red again.
“Well then, it’s late already, so let’s go to bed. Holding hands means we need to move our beds together.”
“R-Right. But moving the beds at this hour might make a lot of noise, and we might get complaints from downstairs.”
“True. Hmm, this is a problem.”
“Then… c-can we, um, sleep together?”
“…Huh?”
“Because we can’t move the beds now, but Sora-kun, you’ll still try to grant my request no matter what, right?”
That’s true.
If Mana wishes for it, I’ll prioritize it over anything else.
“But, Mana, are you okay with that? After all, I’m a young man?”
“No, I’m not worried about that. Because Sora-kun wouldn’t force me to do something I don’t want, right?”
That’s true too.
It seems like Mana is starting to understand me better.
“Got it. Then let’s sleep together. But promise me you’ll sleep properly, okay?”
“Yes, I understand.”
…..Well, things have turned out like this, but is it really okay?
Today might be fine, but Mana definitely won’t look me in the eye tomorrow.
Mana always seems to sabotage herself.
Thinking about that, I couldn’t help but smile.
“What are you laughing at? Come on, come in already, it’s cold out there.”
“Ah, sorry, sorry. You’re just too cute, Mana.”
Saying so, I got into Mana’s bed and held her hand.
“Thank you for today.”
“What are you saying? You don’t need to thank me. We’re a married couple, after all. Right, Mana? I think it’s better not to say this, but sleeping in the same bed feels embarrassing, doesn’t it?”
“Hehe, yes, it does. I thought so too, but I’m more happy than embarrassed. I always thought that being married meant sleeping together, but we’ve been sleeping separately until now.”
“I see. Then, shall we continue sleeping together from now on?”
“No, I’ll still refrain from that. If we do this every day, my heart won’t be able to take it.”
“I feel the same way. Well then, let’s go to sleep. Good night.”
“Yes, good night.”
And so, the two of them drifted off into their respective dreams.
Neither of them knew that they would appear in each other’s dreams.
